  • Look how Belgium, England and South Africa do their tandem lifts! We received great footage of a working machineroom of a STS Tandem crane in the Port of Antwerp on the PSA terminal. I made this compilation to give you a better view inside and outside the Tandem STS Cranes! The maximum lifting capacity of the cranes in Belgium is 130ton in the cables and up to 100ton under the spreader.

    Salut,

    Operated a few paceco gantry cranes for about 29 yrs. but nowhere close to what you're operating. I was averaging 37 to 40 moves per hr. Chances are you can move 3 to 4 times more with that crane. Amazing cranes now a days. Looks and sound like you're a smooth operator.

      I'm curious how it will evolve next 10 years....

      +-2 min/move...not even 2 times your average...i've been working those things for + 20years and i've seen it evolving.....no more fun ...

    Nice video. Do you have any video on crane management system (CMS) of a dual hoist crane?

  • @nedvez

    Under the deck does the wire rope touch the containers this can affect the life of the hoist wire rope

    I really appreciate shots from the machine room. And i have a bunch of questions about it. What type of motors does it have? Why does the big grey motors have 6 cables running inside terminal box? What is the blue smaller motors installed on the same shaft with big grey ones. If you can, provide model of a crane instead and i will probably google all the answers for myself.

    • @dannymorales2914
      @dannymorales2914 2 года назад

      So the grey motors are ac motors , the blue ones are emergency drive motors , they work on thruster brakes , the middle grey piece is the gearbox and the planks on the side of each drum are called post tacs / encoders , that’s how she tells the system where the head lock is, the drum in the back is for the trolley, and the 4 in the front are for the hoist, which is how they are able to tandem lift cause it has 4 ropes splitting up into 8. Pretty high end stuff, it’s impressive.

    Ok watching your videos early on from you at your workplace I have seen this with other posters like you.
    all these videos are coming out where you work and showing everything till top dogs say hey this is
    enough of you showing what goes on at this port for many reasons and stop and desist that's it.
    So now you have to post from other posters am I right or am I wrong????

    • @Container_World
      @Container_World  6 лет назад +1

      +canvids1 no, I still have permission to make videos! But I didn't had the time to make those videos anymore. My own videos can take up to 6 hours to make one. My family needed me so I kept this channel alive with videos from all over the world.
      I'm having more time again for RUclips and I'm working on a great 5.000 subscriber video! Stay tuned! ;)
      Thanks for still being a subscriber!
