    Evan, I’ve learned so much about fencing from your projects. Thank you for sharing. At first, I was ready to adopt your methods using wooden posts, even after you switched to metal, because I thought welding was too hard. But now I’m seriously considering metal pipe after watching how to brace using Bekaert pipe kits. Could you create a video showing where you got your metal pipe, how you cut and paint it and what tools are essential for this project. If you already have, I’ve missed it. I hope to watch it soon. Thanks again!!

I retired early two years ago from a company that thought my 30+ years of experience could be replaced by anyone; 3 different people do what I did now. I hope people realize cookie cutter will never be the case, some things are experience related. This putting in a fence correctly is proof of stretch videos is proof of that.

    How should fence braces be built? Two methods have been used in this project - welded joints, and bolt-on brackets. Is one method better than the other? Bolt-on brackets might be faster than welded joints, BUT….. welded joints are wasp-proof. When you expect a fence to last at least 30 years, and possibly 50 to 60 years, you could have a lifetime of wasp problems!!

    How big of a pasture (with normal rain amounts) would your livestock need each day? I know you talked about rotating them. I was wondering how often and what size pasture you would divide the new fenced area?
    I think you said you were over-wintering the steers this year. Where are you planning on putting them?
    Have you put gates in the new fence, you just installed, to have a crossing from the big bank barn pasture end, near your house, to cross your driveway into the new pasture? Now it looks like you have only one driveway crossing and it is at the bank barn.
    You have made so much progress!

    Those gripples sure are handy but you must have went through a small fortune with that many wires. nice thing about them is how you can use them to re tension if you have an animal run against the fence or (more likely in my case) "bump" it with the tractor.

    • @CountryViewAcres
      @CountryViewAcres  3 месяца назад +5

      About $20 of T-clip gripples to tie off to the brace. But that is worth it, not having to tie off High Tensile fence. This wire is a lot harder to bend. The other gripples, for the splice, they are included with each roll of fence.
