Thank You for all of your hard work in filming these jobs . Very pleased to hear the Boss in charge here to order the First Due Engine to hit it with the Big Gun !
Row houses are always rough to battle, so many close together allows fire to travel untouched when inside of the walls or even a slight breeze blowing. Plus the construction is also an issue to bare in mind, the last one I went to as a volunteer was brutal. Homes like this need sprinkler systems to prevent fire from spreading to other homes, sad thing is if they are rentals landlords do not want to spend the money to protect the home and just collect the insurance money.
shame there was a lot of written text in the first 5.56 minutes of what was a good video, maby think about doing less written text and show more of the video,, just my opinion though. Great video footage after all the written text.
This is a excellent video like the comments at the start giving a good image of what was going on. This is a great example of attacking the fire. Surround and drowned keeping the firefighters safe. Sorry for the people that lost everything they had. At least no one got hurt. Great job on all fronts.👍
After normal hours utilities usually run on emergency call in. Unless anticipated storms or emergency is expected. Or limited manpower to cover a large area
I find it baffling that in 2019 there are still areas that do not have a RIT assigned on the dispatch. The dispatcher should not need to prompt (or is it remind) the IC that a RIT is needed. Ideally a RIT should be dispatched as part of the 1st alarm assignment on every structural type fire and then one as part of each consecutive alarm there after. The number of RIT teams needs to match the number of members operating in, on, and even around the scene.
The Mack was a oldie but still seems to be holding its own! Like most Mack's built right down the road, I believe she's got quite a few more years left in her!
Awesome video work, thanks and Awesome fire department response they rolled up and had their hands full but still got in there and tried to make a interior attack but when they called a all out and went defensive Boy did they go Defensive!!! They still even with the fire load they had DIDN'T put the building on the ground! Great job guys!!! Awesome Now get ya some of that! These guys know what they are doing and they were so busy fighting fire they didn't run around knocking out windows everywhere!
Sorry for those who lost their homes, but i really don't see the constant drive to stack everyone on top of eachother like that. You are then not only worried about your own actions, but those of your neighbors.
This video brings to question : Does anyone know if there are still FD's which require the First-In apparatus to either perform Search & Rescue or if all persons are known to be safe, to immediately lay-in an interior fire attack handline ? Even better, does anyone know of any FD where arriving units/apparatus do not wait for a Chief Officer to arrive and give orders as to what they are supposedly already trained to do ? Even more better, is there still a FD in America which does not use aerial water towers, monitor guns and street held handlines to drown out room fires, apartment fires, house fires and garage fires which have always been the job of "professional firefighters" ??? (i.e. All of which scenarios I have seen posted herein on RUclips videos)
I was a volley on Long Island years back. We weren't paid but we emulated FDNY. We were aggressive interior people, not just stand on the porch overhang with a line and watch the fire inside.
,that fire looked bad , It's ashame that the people lost everything they had at least no lives or pets were lost !possessions can be replaced lives can't
I believe there was a bit more than the foundation left. Of course, you had probably been waiting to use your new phrase for the day. And so clever and original too.
THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO but damned misleading, I almost clicked out after 5 minutes because if I wanted to read a bunch of captions, I'd have read the article
Yeah when lives are at stake the last DAMNED thing thats important is information about who is fighting the fire. Just stop reading is all. Matter of fact, ignore stop signs and anything that reading requires. Its just a bunch of captions. They are saving lives and property You dont want to read...and complain about it .
I don't know of a department that doesn't use air horns to announce an evacuation, radios are used but just incase you missed the radio call you won't miss the horns.
Don't think panic more of excitement. The was alot to think about when Chief 59 arrived on scene. He gave clear precise commands all be it loud and high pitched
Those Mack Aerialscopes always look classy at a fire, especially when still in service. They'll never die. So rugged and well built.
some times those old Mac's work better than the new ones, we have 2 in our volunteer dept and they are still going strong.
Ex FDNY maybe?

Superior footage. Crystal clear. Very well fought fire
saw the buildings this morning, shame they can't be saved, but fortunate that everyone got out
Sorry for all those who lost their home.

Great post, extremely intense at moments, thanks for the share

I wonder why the power company doesn't respond on 2nd alarm to shut down the electricty.
After normal hours utilities usually run on emergency call in. Unless anticipated storms or emergency is expected. Or limited manpower to cover a large area
Mack, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I like seeing that Mack. However the new trucks do inspire a sense of security in the mind of many citizens.
The first aerial I ever climbed was a 1950 Mack, in 1986.
Command calling for the deck gun blitz excellent nice clip
Everyone should have dumped their tanks on arrival but yea it was a good call
Great footage. Thank you and great job FF's.
Great video. Makes a good case for building with bricks. Imagine if all the homes in that block had been built with wood.
Agreed.
Balls of steel squirting a high pressure water stream onto live power lines.....
Great Footage, Did you have a gopro on the front of the engine?
Yes
Looks like alot of freelancing going on, where's the accountability at?????

Love the mack tower ladder. Great job
The Mack was a oldie but still seems to be holding its own! Like most Mack's built right down the road, I believe she's got quite a few more years left in her!
Such a turn on seeing a Mack still in service :)
I remember this only 4 years ago…
Awesome video work, thanks and Awesome fire department response they rolled up and had their hands full but still got in there and tried to make a interior attack but when they called a all out and went defensive Boy did they go Defensive!!! Knocking out windows is a FDNY thing lol.
They roll up now and stand around, like they don't know what they're doing.
We had our share of house fires on my street, in the 60s and 70s. The Fire Departments, always showed up ready to do, what had to be done.
I deliver gas to the turkey Hill alot and to quality discount heating oil.
I'm course was this a oops of someone trying to thaw frozen pipes???
How can Firefighters show up, with no water?
Sorry for those who lost their homes, but i really don't see the constant drive to stack everyone on top of eachother like that. You are then not only worried about your own actions, but those of your neighbors.
Anyone know what started the fire?
Nice job all ground hoses !
Anyone know the cause of the fire?
ALBERTO MADEIRA JR it is believed to be a alternate heating source
Did the people get out?
How can Firefighters show up with no water?
Rowhomes...what a great idea.
Great job guys and girls
Gals
This is not good> the firemen stays to long in the building, they have to start earlier with spreading the water.
Thank you.
Gosh Wooden house's are dangerous along with the paint you use

Love that deck gun puts the hurt on the fire fast.
sounds like a Charlie Foxtrot on the radio. calm down...getting excited only adds to the confusion.
"rips through rowhomes?" bit of click-bait there.
Port carbon fire
All I see is a bunch of standing around. Get to work you pussy gang stalkers.
This captioning of this fire is a joke
Enough with the airhorns. If you’re pulling everyone out just say so and do a PAR. It’s not the 80’s anymore. We all have radios.
Yeah because radios always work perfectly
I don't know of a department that doesn't use air horns to announce an evacuation, radios are used but just incase you missed the radio call you won't miss the horns.
James Vaughan FDNY doesn’t and haven’t ever
Dist15ff so it’s with you to blare all the horns at the most dangerous point of fire. Makes no sense.
@@heavy7799 horns are loud, makes sense to blast them to announce evacuation
who cares about explaining let us watch the video
Heavy panic showing lol . Eye roll
Don't think panic more of excitement. The was alot to think about when Chief 59 arrived on scene. He gave clear precise commands all be it loud and high pitched
