Thankyou Richard for another great video. As a one-time Mark 7 owner, my preference was the Jaguar Mark 9. Thankfully, the video wasn't spoiled by the over-amplified so-called music.
Greetings from Kelowna, BC… just wanted to tell you that we really enjoy your videos! So nice to look at beautiful cars in such a calm and relaxed manner..almost as though we were strolling around ourselves..thank you and keep them coming!!
Thanks for another great video. I own the Bedford CA Dormobile you filmed so thank you for your kind words about it. Everybody comments on the rear lights, the originals were missing when I got it and I always liked the Cortina lights so I fitted them.
Hello Richard & Co . There's no doubt that down in the South West we are bereft of these amazing shows with such huge choices . That XJ 6 was indeed a worthy winner . I drove an identical car with intent to purchase way back in 1976 for my father . I thought the clutch too heavy for town driving , compared to my 4.2 auto . The series 1 was the perfect car. The LWB series 1 was rare and the only LWB I ever saw was a V12 , a rare beast indeed as was the series 2 SWB . As always , many thanks team .
Most folks don’t spot that, there are only 22 cars on the road in the UK and there were only 78 UK cars of the 1031 built so it’s a pretty rare beast 👍
Hi 👋 Richard. Excellent car display . That Ford Consul is very nice , thats how I remember them when I was a kid years ago. The BSA motorbike was a standout too.
The pale green Volvo PV, pale blue GT6 and green Rover P4 were the stars of the show for me Also the flexible spout oil can - I wouldn't be without mine, which facilitates lubrication at any angle!
The Mustang at about 15 minutes is a 1967 not a 1965 which had slightly squarer body styling. I like your coverage of the car meets, hope you don't mind the criticisms from a cranky Yankee. Keep the videos rolling.
No worries thanks for the info, I usually go off the registration date when looking around a show like this but errors can creep in while continually talking about things :-)
It's rare to see a stock VW Beetle any more and they used to be more common here than any British car . As common as Mustangs And Camaros here in the states.
Another enjoyable video RJ. My 1998 SLK will get its first outing next Saturday on a club run weather permitting, it doesn't go anywhere near rain. It has a new MOT without any issues, and has had a complete valet and full machine polish as well as a full service so we are all set to go,
I hope like hell they didn't have to pay that guy attempting to sing in the background. Sounds like me, drunk, 21yrs old at a karaoke night at 3a.m. 🤦♂️🤷♂️
Hi 👋 I also want to mention, back in the 1970s I would go to Stockcar racing. In 1974 a wealthy guy made the news here because he bought a new Jaguar XJ 6 and entered it into a demolition derby. True. It got hammered by the other drivers in the event . It didn't last long on the track. I was thinking about that as I'm watching your video and seeing the lovely Jaguar XJ 6's in the show.
Hi Richard, do you know which jaguars won the 5 categories? I thought the e type won the best jaguar but i note from your comments that you say the series 1 xj won that category.
I wasn't paying a huge amount of attention but I'm fairly sure that both the cars you mention won something, the specifics of what though I'm not sure :) Maybe the XJ won best saloon, and the E-Type best overall?
Never saw a reliant kitten until today, until I went shopping and saw one in the supermarket car park. With the one on here, that's two in one day . Recognise the legs lol . That Bedford camper, were the brake lights original? They look like the same ones that were on a mk 1 cortina. The Figaro's I always thought they were some type of fiat when I first saw them...very art deco xx
I'm sorry, but knowing that you have other cars, why slap other classic owners in the face by bringing a Mazda MX5 to a classic cars show! (Especially if ya spending all day filming and asking other owners permission & questions regarding classic cars).....ps. and a BT yellow 1 at that......😢
Slapping other owners in the face for taking my MX-5?!??!! Wowzers. If you don't like it, fine. Can't please everyone, never more true than on RUclips. PS I hope you got a receipt from the charm school. Thanks for watching.
Not charm school, it's called feedback! you asked me to subscribe (& I obliged) now knowing your the type of person that when the weather's not to your liking, u drive car that was part reason for British cars demise (only thing Mazda has in common with British cars is rust) also previously I asked about 1 of your family's classic cars (I think on Cheshire run which would've taken 5 mins to check, but u couldn't be bothered, and just gave 'don't know' answer......also when others give me 👍 it shows I'm not alone in thinking this......classic ownership is not driving reliable far-east fodder. 😢😢

At times the entertainment was not necessarily to everyone's taste yes
@@oldclassiccarUK Good to know I'm not the only old curmudgeon who much preferred your own relaxing background music.

Glad you like them!

The rear lamps suited it I think, from the right time period etc etc, thanks for watching
Another great video Rick, That Volvo was lovely. Note to singer in the background, "Don't give up the day job!" 😂
Glad you liked it!

Another quality vid! Enjoying the OCC magnet on my fridge❤👍🏼
Thanks, might have to get one of those myself (and see if Mrs OCC spots it!)
Thanks for spotting my Daimler is in fact the Double Six 6.0lt V12 😁
:-) I got there in the end!

Hi rick, great vid yet again.what a wonderful show.soft spot for the volvo.the consul mk2 won my vote. Well done rick.regards aĺan.😊

Another very interesting post, thank you, Richard, Cattle grids and speed bumps, deep joy

Is completely understandable which is why I like your channel unfortunately I'm behind on my viewing and am desperately trying to catch up.
It's rare to see a stock VW Beetle any more and they used to be more common here than any British car . As common as Mustangs And Camaros here in the states.
True, most seem to have been modified to a greater or lesser extent
whata great video and show. So glad the series1 Jaguar wone, it looked majestic, I like the series 1 fronts over the series 3
Nice to see at least one Mustang in the show. Didn’t see any other American Muscle. I would have thought they had made it over. Nice show

You'd probably have liked day two then, Merc the featured marque
Another awesome long video 👍😃❤️🤍💙🏁🗽of course the favs are the JDMs lol i.e. Mx-5 🎉Subaru, Datsun, Toyota etc.
Thanks for looking in! Glad you liked the Japanese content, not everyone is as keen :-) (see other comment)
Another great video
Like the auto jumble finds
The e types still sand out
Thank you
I agree. The series 1 e type was the car of the show for me
I hope like hell they didn't have to pay that guy attempting to sing in the background. Sounds like me, drunk, 21yrs old at a karaoke night at 3a.m. 🤦♂️🤷♂️
I did think at the time that the performance was quite niche
👍👍👍👍👍

More money than sense by sound of it
@oldclassiccarUK It was sad to watch really. A brand new Jag getting demolished.
😀

@@oldclassiccarUK Well done anyway. Both looked fantastic
Ric, I have a question how many cars have you owned. I'm about your age and have only had four,, still driving my old clk
I'm not sure to be honest, I've always liked trying different things and I'm not very focused on just one type or make

Yeah they were Mk1 Cortina rear lamps, pretty sure they're not the original fitment (although did suit it I thought)
Thanks,I thought they looked good too xx

Now what is common to see is Massive pickup trucks and ugly boxy SUVs
