I have two from Ikea and manage to store most of my art supplies..wouldn't be without as them, makes everything so accessible. Thank you for the inspirational content, recently got into bookbinding and your videos have been such a help xxx
Regarding how to store paper, I do blockprinting and I simply use those wardrobe hangers with clips (for hanging trousers) to hang the large sheets up. You can hang them off your metal shelf as the hanger itself is rotatable.
Hi Chanel❤ I have watched a few of your videos and very inspired with what you do. I am an artist and create books to but not binding. I know how much work is involved with what you do. I am new to your channel and thank you for sharing your craft. ❤❤❤
I love your studio set up! Such wonderful use of your space. My personal favorite item is your purple LSP plushie 💜 Keep us updated on how you decide to store your larger paper ❤ Thank you @squarespace for sponsoring my favorite channel ❤
I love your wooden workbench. If you want another one, you can buy the same exact ones at Harbor Freight. I too am a book binder and I bought two from my studio and put them back to back. They were wonderful addition. Although I bought mine from the retailer, I love your story of how you obtained yours.❤
It could be interesting to show historical bindings with some piece of information about them. But this could be laborious, I m afraid. Under the central desk could be a place for large papers-if the table is large enough, of course. Really happy for your new video and studio. It's an inspiration for us too!
Great use of the space! I’m eager to see you use the hot foil press. I ordered the same one and a high quality custom stamp from a local shop. I haven’t had much luck getting a clean stamp yet.
I have loads of pegboards throughout my house! If you find like I have that the hooks in your brown skadis pegboard tend to fall out a bit (they don't on my white pegboard which is plastic) I have used one of those tiny hair ties to wrap around the hook to make it stick in a bit
Love it all! I know you will find the thing or things that work best for those large papers! I am just am so happy that you get to spread out in a bright and lovely space. And, it was so good to see Miss Lucy…I hope she will grow to trust your new studio😅 Thank you Chanel 🎉 🥰✨
Wow! looks so great. I've been working on my set up at home and it looks sort of like your old set up. so cool to see you grow into this space and thanks for sharing.
you've really inspired me to get into bookbinding. i dabbled in it back when i was in college, but you've helped me find a renewed interest in it. thank you!
For large sheets of paper, may I suggest an IKEA PAX wardrobe. For the 1meter wide unit you can get pull out trays. All of my large sheets of various art papers are stored in this way and it's brilliant! One of those wardrobes would fit perfectly in the empty space next to your door ☺️
That is what I do too. My watercolour and sketching papers live on a shelf in my Pax wardrobe in a project bag (a very cheap portfolio case) above my clothes rail! 😂 Perfect width and depth!
@@bittermelonbindery brill! Also I lovvveee your marketplace desk find between 2 artists! You should send the gent a link to this video so he can see it's been put to good use 😁
So happy to see you back 🎉 I’ve missed you. You have a fantastic new space to bind in, well organised and lovely to work in. Can’t wait to see what you bind next. Have a great week.
Love this space and you have organised everything beautifully 😊 I hope Lucy likes her new hangout spot under the desk🐶. Genious idea to use a plate stand for your cards/paper sheets... I will look out for one myself ❤
I love all of your videos - they are so inspiring. I'm in the process of setting up a new studio space so this is giving me some great ideas! Do you know the approximate dimensions of your space?
Hemlo! Inspiring me to finish my little studio space! The layout and aesthetic is gorgeous! Wanted to ask, what’s the cutting mat you have pls? All the success for you!
I love the space - quite envious of it - and your pegboard (I don't have one... wahhh!)! With regard to storing large papers - Have you ever watched Four Keys Book Arts? He has a shed where he does his bookbinding - if you find his youtube, and look for the video titled 'What a mess!' from 9th November 2022, and go to about 4 minutes and 38 seconds in, you'll see he has a set of drawers that allows him to keep very large, flat sheets in them - what about one of those? He called it a filing cabinet in the video but do go look, its not like a conventional hanging file filing cabinet you used to get in offices. I'd do a proper link for you but youtube doesn't seem to like them. Hope that's helpful!
@@bittermelonbindery Yes i saw later on, after I'd posted this comment, when I was watching the moving/packing video of yours and was like "DUH, of course she knows what I mean!" Hope you manage to find one!
Hello 🤗 Chanel 🌹 Thank you for sharing this video of your new Bookbinding space It's Wonderful I think that a paper ladder sounds Great for your bigger papers also Enjoy your day ☺️🌹💌🖌️🎨📚🦄🤗❣️❣️ ps. Yes I love the peg board too 🤗❣️
I'd love if you'd make a video about making book covers with textile. like romantic journals for girls. I have seen many beautiful ones on pintrest but they are almost all in russian and with no tutorials on how to make them. they have ribbons and lace, cute oval openings in the middle with illustrations in the openings. very cute soft colors. search: a puffy notebook with ruffles=пошива блокнота-пухляша с рюшами..... please
I would love to know what you use your Xtool M1 laser cutter for? I was contemplating getting one to cut my book board, amongst other things. I haven’t seen any binders use them and would love to know more about how you use yours.
So far I’ve been using it to experiment with cover designs! It cuts shapes in book board no problem. My last few videos in the “Cozy Bookbinding” playlist show me using it.
So nice to see another video - you do seem to have "recovered" from your book writing and publishing efforts! The new space looks very organized and comfy. What is a hot stamping machine used for? Your aluminum shelving looks strong - I had one that was a real terror for me to put together! Wonderful to see Lucy the great guard dog again!
I'm curious, how do you store your really big paper sheets (like A2 and bigger) that can't fit into a regular sized drawer? Do you roll them up (loosely/tightly)? Do you have a really big drawer where you can store them flat, like they do in art stores? I have a bunch of coloured cardstock that I use for endpapers and covers (that I cut to size whenever I need them), and large sheets of watercolour paper that I just don't have space for but I need to store somewhere! Right now I'm rolling them up loosely and placing them at a 45 degree angle in larger cupboard spaces and in my wardrobe, but I would love some advise on how to store them efficiently to prevent unnecessary bending and warping so I can plan for those spaces when I can afford to have my own art studio space in the far future!
please do affiliate links- I would have never heard about some of these companies. I want to buy some of the things that you mentioned but if you do affilate links then you can get some proceeds:)
Now that you've had it for a while what is your opinion of the guillotine? I'm just about to start looking for one myself but I'll need the next size up (A3). Storage for large sheets of material is a problem in the UK as well - a reasonable quality used set of architects drawers here seem to cost just about as much as new ones do when you factor in delivery. I'm still trying to come up with a solutions 😒
Hello! May I kindly ask where you purchased the stamping machine you are currently using? Could you also please let me know the brand and model of the machine? Thank you very much.
Like this comment if you have a pegboard!

for your large paper, what about a ladder-style frame that you lean at an angle against the wall?

Where is that little needle tray from? I've always wondered about it, it's so cute!
From a gift shop in Japan. If you can find a Japanese paper shop, they sometimes offer paper covered items like trays and boxes.

I hope I will be able to show Lucy more. The hot stamping machine is for stamping text or other designs on covers with foil!
@@bittermelonbindery Thanks for the rely - I thought it dealt with foil somehow. Lucy is a real gem!

Where did you get your paper cutter/guillotine? I can’t seem to come up with an effective search for them.
Yes I'm curious about this also!

Yaay! I'm early 🤩
Your new space is coming along really well! Yay love seeing Lucy
A ladder system would be a simple solution if I can secure it well
Where did you get the toolbox?
It was a sale item from MUJI... not sure if they stock it anymore
