    Agree. These are best for a car tire. Buddy of mine had issues with two of those Kobalt inflaters. Both worked great when new! But after a few years and several uses, each one konked out on him. He refused to buy a 3rd one.
    I keep that Ryobi in my car. Along with one of the company's larger capacity batteries, and a charger. All 3 fit well inside a mechanic's tool-bag. The inflater? Loud! Takes a while to inflate a flat. Hold down the button the entire time. Shakes a bit in hand. Grip is only comfortable if you wear XL-sized gloves. But, budget inflater that just works. Saved me from getting stranded handful of occasions in the last 4 or 5 years. Last time, my aluminum rim was damaged. Bent inward, and a sharp point had penetrated the tire. Couldn't see it from the outside. With the rim jammed up against the tire, I had an extremely slow leak. Used my Ryobi. Two days later had to use it again. Used it a total of three times like that until I got it to a garage. That Ryobi more than paid for itself already.
    Though at the time I knew nothing about Ridgid. Having a non-battery option of inflating a low tire is a huge plus! If I didn't already own the Ryobi, I'd buy the Ridgid in a heart-beat.

    Just bought the Ridgid and should have bought it years ago. Top off tires fast and makes it easy for motorcycles also. Verified the PSI with an expensive PSI gauge and the Ridgid was spot on every time.

    Man that Ridgid sounds great with those features.I have the small Ryobi in this video and the bigger Ryobi as well. I like them both, but they're not accurate. So, it's interesting you gave decent accuracy with that Ryobi. One thing to add to your chart might be the accuracy you recorded.

    • @Tools-Tested

      Interesting, I only found them to be off maybe 1-2 PSI when comparing the tool to the gauge. When I test the bigger Ryobi I will add PSI accuracy on a chart. Thanks!

    Thank you for making a non-biased video! I just got done watching another RUclips video where they compared this rigid with a 2ah battery versus the Milwaukee 18 volt with an 8AH battery and it only beat the rigid by a minute. This was a much more accurate. The difference between the 2 and 4ah was a minute and that other guys RUclips video the Milwaukee beat it by a minute so if everything between the two channels is correct the rigid would be almost exactly the same as that big Milwaukee with the way bigger battery and the Ridgid only using the 4ah....... AND WAY SMALLER.

    • @Tools-Tested
      @Tools-Tested  Год назад +1

      No problem! Yeah at the end of the day, to me its about which has the highest performance vs the cost. I don't care what the name is on the side of the tool. I pay for all of the tools I test unlike others.
      You bring up a very valid point no one seem to talk about on YT and that is the battery's used in testing. Like the tools they are not all equal.
      Im have started testing battery's on their own. That way I know which one is going to provide the highest voltage under heavy load.

    Interesting how that Rigid unit out performs the rest by quite a large margin. I don't see many of their tools over here in the UK. You had the cheap version from Ryobi, they do a larger unit with a similar price tag to Milwaukee.

    • @Tools-Tested
      @Tools-Tested  Год назад

      Yeah I wasn't expecting that, really thought the M12 would win..
      I plan to test the bigger Ryobi against the new M18.
      When Ridgid first released power tools they took market share, but then over the years they only made small changes/didnt release new tools.
      Now they are defiantly trying to take back market share once again.

    Did you run the Ridgid 12V test with a bare battery, a battery in a car with the engine running or a battery in a car with the ignition off?
    I’ve noticed the 12V plug inflator(s) that came with my car runs a lot faster with the engine running.

    • @Tools-Tested
      @Tools-Tested  Год назад +1

      This was with the battery in the vehicle, ignition off. You are correct it would have higher performance with the car running, because the voltage should jump from 12 to 14v.
      When I test the larger ones in a few weeks, im going to test this one again with the car running.

    I regularly fill up cars, trucks, ag, earthmoving tyres etc. Of all the tools I really don't know how to compare, big compressors, small, big tyres, high pressures, low - LOTS of variables
    Definitely seems like all of these are stinkers though, except maybe the Ridgid.
    I wonder if they all have thermal cut off and at what temp/time like ordinary tyre inflators and also how accurate the gauges are, I find it annoying how some inflators and handheld gauges can be wildly inaccurate.

    • @Tools-Tested
      @Tools-Tested  Год назад

      Yeah these are more DIY, I don't think any have thermal protection. Most of them have a stated duty cycle listed on the tool.
      From my testing most were a few PSI off.

    I've had the analog ryobi for a couple years. It was great until I filled 4 tires on a car that's been sitting a few years. I was trying to beat a storm coming in and didn't give it any cool down time. Since then it only works for about a minute and definitely not at full capacity

    • @Tools-Tested
      @Tools-Tested  Год назад

      Yep that's the only drawback, its about one tire and then wait 5mins for it to cool down. I have an older one as well and have been using it for years, fyi they also don't like rain. Was inflating a tire and it was "lightly" showers and now the display dousing work...
