    Question! Was there ever a fair election to let the people decide if they wanted the federal government to commandeer their public lands? Did the people ever agree to pay grazing fees and other fees?

      This was passed by Congress, the members of which are elected by the public. The federal government has been the manager of public lands since our independence from England. There is no "commandeering" taking place here. Remember, it's WE the people.

      @@paulmckenna5224 actually, the BLM (that's the Bureau of Land Management, not the other group of angry thugs), was founded December 10, 1946. More government = less freedom for we the people.

      @@dd41283 Wikipedia? . BLM may be relatively new, but management of public land has been a part of the government long before that. The General Land Office preceeded BLM. I'm not exactly sure what you would prefer...No Man's Land? Anarchy? A Free-for-All? What is it you think would be better?

      @@paulmckenna5224 for ranchers and farmers to be able to make a living off their land while being left alone by the government.
