- Michael “Mick” Patrick Mulroy is the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for the Middle East. As the DASD, he was responsible for defense policy for 15 countries and represented the Department of Defense of national policy in that area. He is also a retired CIA Paramilitary Operations Officer in the Special Activities Center and a United States Marine. He is a Senior Fellow for the Middle East Institute, an ABC News National Security Analyst, and a Co-founder of Lobo Institute.
We talk about the recent news of the US starting the process of building a port in Gaza to provide humanitarian aid.

Shocked by the honesty, non slanted information
Except for the part where they blame Hamas for everything bad that happens in Gaza. That's like blaming Harriet Tubman for the conditions of slaves held in the USA. Remember, it was a crime to escape from "ownership." There had to be a war to stop that... Kinda like what Hamas is doing.

Are there people like Mick that are passionate like he is but doing his work for homeless veterans here in USA. I don't see it and am happy for helpers like him but just random question I guess. And I know CIA is international vs other 3 letter orgs but just wish same help was applied here.

@@andrewmilburn7153 it would be cool to see someone well versed on the historical context in the conversation. I know most in the community will roll their eyes when they read that but it really explains how we got here and I really don’t see anyone actually doing so when I can’t think of a modern conflict where that is more applicable. GWOT days gave us a “terror attack” trigger where most stop asking the most important questions because the default program is to be a meat eater. I can give you some recommendations if it’s something you want to pursue 🫡

Agree , I hate hamas but starving civilians is a bit over the top .
I do think Israel has the right to defend itself but Israelis have to wake up to the fact that hunger is not an acceptable weapon to use if you claim to be part of the rules-based order. They have to avoid even the appearance of using it. They should really know better.

@@dspicerj Look into PCPSR polling and how many Palestinians support Hamas, a terrorist organization that literally has genocide and jihad built into their charter. Look at previous polls determining how many support suicide bombings, Shariah law, etc. Look at how Hamas came to be.
If the majority of the civilian population aids and abets to a terrorist organization that has no issue using them as meat shields to support their mission of butchering civilians, don't be surprised when they're treated as the enemy. Because, as of right now, the majority ARE.
The majority of Palestinians support a genocidal terrorist organization that actively uses them as meat shields and propaganda pieces. Does this make Israel's actions OK? No. But you'd have to be very reductive or outright ignorant in order to ask such a question.
