I own a SB2 bought it back in 2018....still rocks. Best portable speaker hands down

121, 119, and 112db have Soundbox finally get some realistic numbers or is it not as loud as gen 3?
I have the gen 4, and you're right it is a great sounding speaker. I'm hoping to use it in a parade.
Is it that hard for them to have a sound limiter when charging to avoid issues? They really need strategic guidance in the product development part

the 3 levels are good to know.about.. but other than that, I didn't see a bit difference... if you don't have a 3, then get the 4... or wait till the 3 drops in price

05:46 heavy audio compression on the kickdrum, not nice to listen to. Is that how they get 20% more battery life out of it, compressing/limiting the bass at high volumes?

So the difference between 3 and 4 is the hi-pass filter cutoff?
Maybe it could be modded to a 3 if someone does a teardown of a Soundboks 4.
What SOUNDBOKS doesn’t tell you is that you have to be logged on to their app online to have EQ and Bass+ to control the speakers through Bluetooth. I was at a reunion in the woods and couldn’t even tell the XLR inputs to switch to a Mic level because I had no internet. Such a terrible design.
Yeah they just ignored their community - we all disliked the app obligation to control at least the Bass-Level, but here we go with 3.1 and barely changes but how the Bass-Level is named?? Oo
Those names "stage", "dance floor" and "lounge" feel so dull and forced - but hey, it's tHe NeW sOuNdBoKs
And because of that and also their customer support that I'm not a customer. I see too many horror stories online of customers that can't get support

Not to argue with anyone, but it doesn't actually.....can't throw rocks at a Dimondbox... Can you put a diamond box on a PA stand?

Its only "IP65 rated electronics coating" it doesn't mean the whole speaker is IP65

Don't see enough improvements to warrant upgrading from a Gen 3
same i mean i heard its meant to be more blanced sound and then a biit better barrty lifebut other than that no real difference and the gen 3 sounds so good allready
I think its meant for newer customers, or people with the SB2. Kind of like Iphone 15, it's not really meant for people with Iphone 14 but rather people with older phones they bought years ago.

Gymcaddy did a sound comparison between this speaker to the JBL PB 710 and the JBL mauls it, JBL has perfected its tunning

JBL partyboxes have internal wooden enclosure to improve sound quality and bass.
This is a portable speaker, you can't compare
The fact that they are on 4th gen and still don't support just powering the speaker directly (at full volume) is some terrible design. Batteries are great, but how about we don't handcuff us to use them if we have power available and don't want to be swapping out batteries for an all day event?
True I would like to have the battery as an option like at least get 4-8 hours off the first charge and then I can use the battery if I need to. Like hybrid cars it can auto switch over are something. You got a point bud for sure. Hopefully 5th Gen

Why buy soundboks in the first place?
For serious music listeners.... River party type atmosphere.... Off roading or trail riding atmosphere... Industrial grade and thoroughly rugged.... Can be put on the top of PA stand for a professional look....

When you play a soundboks loud, it is like a party 🥳 magnet 🧲 Suddenly everyone will just appear. l get my neighbours begging to join in the fun, even if its the middle of the night, and they are supposed to be sleeping. They so looove that big booming bass sound 🔊🔈that they will come knocking very loudly. They really don't want to miss out! They even shout out something like turn it up! every night, but I cant make out what they are saying so I just ignore them, and besides we have no more room for anyway 🤷♂️ Sometimes they want to join in so bad, that they bust their party lights out to tempt me to let them in! its quite a sight with all of their lights flashing away down there, they just go for one color though, blue, I cant think why? And their siren sound effects are cool, too! 😅
Booming bass? boomy than JBL 710? doubt it, yet its more expensive than JBL
