I have the C100 and it's such a great camera. I'm in love with smaller cameras and ergonomic cameras, and this camera really is the ultimate convenience camera. It's also amazing for documentary work.
I've rented the FS700 and own the C100 and they're both awesome for their own reasons. You shouldn't hate on cameras if you don't know what you're talking about.
Small correction for you, the C100 has a locking HDMI port. It's the kind that you plug in and then has an additional screw to lock it in place, similar to DVI ports on the back of a desktop cpu.
I have a C100 and shot a lot of professional projects with it but after some time I honestly feel the lack of slow motion was a total deal breaker especially since the function can now be found (all be in in a diminished capacity) on the new iphones, the C100 does well at low light however, but ultimately the FS700's issue with low light and digital noise can be solved with a denoiser. If you have the cash and the option go with the FS700.
Great video Jesse. Only thing missing from that was a comparison of latitude. Latitude seems to be the new resolution. If I remember correctly, the C100 has about 13 stops. Any word on the FS700?
Im finishing reading his biography, if you can get it, is really good, it's called Memories By Roberto Gomez Bolaños. I'm going for the C100, for drama and action films. :)
@@jessemillerman sure but then it comes down to aesthetic choice...given it was a camera comparison...would have been nice to see side to side comparison visually

I feel like it was a little bias for the sony. both great cameras, the canon is more of a run and gun style of shooting which im pretty sure most RUclipsrs or indie film makers are and the sony is more for locked down locations and is extremely uncomfortable for handheld and also price, the c100 is way cheaper. but at the end of the day its really your budget and type of shooter you are after all the best camera is the one in hand @jesse miller

So has anyone tried the FS700 with the Atomos Shogun? What resolutions and bit rates can you pull from the FS700 with a Shogun?

Dude! You're wearing a Chapulin Colorado shirt! Is it cause you like it or cause you know it?

I will man, promise. (y)
Jesse! I went to the link but I saw that you are in the US, I'm in London :( That will make it difficult to get the camera from you :(
How do i access the PH 28mbps recording format?? It's only showing FX and FH for me.
what about image quality...you only discussed partial specs with no examples for comparison
great point! the image quality is excellent on both of these cameras, no?

@@jessemillerman very true...though I have soft spot for the hdw-900...
According to a presentation by a Canon rep (Dec. 2014), the C100 can output 4K to external media.
Great comparison, Thanks.
what's the name of that motorized zoom lens? And where can I find it?
hey jesse! what about nex fs700 vs red scarlet? i dont know what camera should i buy. thanks bro.
The FS700 can simultaneous record to an SD card as well as the Sony memory unit.
Does the C100 have slow motion capability and does APS-C lenses fit the C100? Sorry for the noob questions.
It doesn't have great slow motion. It can do 50i. It can accept aps-c lenses.
thank you :)
Porque. La playera del chapulin colorado?
Where ON EARTH did you get that T shirt? LOL
had to have it made custom
Chapulín colorado
Sony FS100 is more in pair with the C100, FS700 is way better than the C100.
