I like this guy he cracks me up and is out there just having fun. Love how he always trying new stuff out and not throwing the same crap all the time. Thumbs up
Hey James, great video as always. I agree with the sportsmanship. Last weekend, i caught a 23 inch bass, a guy down from me walks up, telling me he'd take it for dinner. Told him its going back, its not legal. He got all pissy when i released it
Hey Mike thanks for the comment! That's crazy that guy wanted to keep a short, but the sad thing is you know he keeps every undersized striper he catches i bet😡
Tsunami must have you and Les on the payroll..LOL, my biggest gripe is that lure casts like a feather. If you are endorsed by Tsunami, ask them what's up with the eye popping off every lure they make on like the 3rd or 4th cast. Your first fish was a "nail-biter" keeper, feel like it was right on the line. Tight Lines and great video
Haha i wish i was getting the hookup from tsunami. But yeah i agree those sand eels really do cast like a feather. I wish they made the 7" like 2oz or so. It'd slay out there. Thanks for the comment and tight lines!
Thanks for the video Jimmy, great to see bass still in the L.I. surf. BTW, I have used both Tsunami sand eels and Hogy Pro tail eels. They both catch Bass but the Hogy eels cast much better then Tsunami eels. The down side is Hogy eels are double the price of Tsunami eels.
Nice video and nice first fish man! Been hitting the surf in deep SJ almost near Cape May with no luck yet and giving them alot of lures after alot of casts with no luck. Waiting for a nice Sunday so I can get out to the suds early as I work night work monday night into Saturday mornings. Keep posting videos man, they give me hope as I've heard the fish are still up mid to north Jersey as of right now. Tight lines!
Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoy the videos! The fish will be down your way soon, its starting to thin out finally up here across the island. Good luck and tight lines!
James toss on a bullet sinker or two in front of that sand eel and watch it get out there. In front of bullet sinker include a 2-3 clear silicone bobber stoppers.
ive been getting them on either a yellow or green A27 jigs w/ white teaser 18-20" up over on sandy hook. The eels are still around. Stone white SP has also produced a couple fish. TIGHT LINES!!!!
Nice outing man! I was still in the cold cold Midwest, missing the marine waters lol. Right before I left I had a dinker fest and caught someone trying to harvest a 20 incher. Thankfully his friend and I forced him to throw him back. Thanks for your comment on being ethical with these lovely stripes 👍🏼 fish onnnn.
James Schlick Outdoors yeah it boils my blood man! Its people like that who ask for a striper moratorium. Glad you had a blast, catching and releasing these wonderful fish. I already whipped out my ultra light and bass rods. Ready for the slow slow winter? 😭
Great video James i guess it was about distance for sure! Those tsunami eels catch i use them here in Ma with good success! Nice to see those size fish in late november! When will you hang it up?
Yeah i usually do pretty good with tsunami sand eels but on this outing it was definitely all about the distance. I'm not done yet lol, i actually went out this morning and was still catching, but they are getting a lot smaller now. It's looking like this season is getting close to an end😭. Have you done any freshwater yet up there in MA? Thanks for commenting and tight lines!
I went to Jones this morning but the mung weed was murdering me on every cast. My heart wasn’t in it so left after 1.5 hours, 7:30-9 AM. I’ve noticed tons of mung weed after storms. Worth going out again next few days? I need a few more fixes.
Excellent video! I love winter beaches but I live in South Texas so I’m a woose compared to you guys! I hate to see people abusing fish or any wildlife. Happens way too often
I feel ya. I'm dying for some topwater action too but right now during this time of season they aren't really hitting topwater. These bass are focused entirely on sand eels. But next season I'll be making more topwater vids absolutely👌
I've seen people be careless handling fish as well. They have no revrerence for sport fishing. Can't understand that behavior. Keep the videos coming. Much appreciated. What gloves do you use?
Thanks for the comment! I was using the aquaskinz black thunder gloves. They keep my hands warm but aren't waterproof so you gotta be careful to not dunk them. I just recently picked up the stormr strykr gloves, much better gloves. They are waterproof and keep my hands toasty. Just used them today👌

Great work and love this channel! nice release on the fish.

Mike C I agree with your decision

James awesome vid. Great explanations of what you’re doing and what’s working and what isn’t.
Glad you enjoyed the vid! Thanks for the comment!

I was at Smith point earlier this morning. Only caught one small bass about 16 inches on a diamond jig
I got out this morning also. Got into a few, but they are getting smaller in size. This fall run is almost over😭

That's crazy i can't believe some people are trying to keep 20" fish😡. Good job getting him to throw it back in!

Good one James, keep these videos coming. Will you be doing fresh water vids this winter?
You bet! I already got my freshwater rods in my car ready to go lol
Great video! What is the name of your tackle bag you are using?
Thanks for the comment! I'm using the Shimano Blue Wave surf bag Medium size. It's a great bag and holds tons of gear.

little late the big guys where right before you got there my guess
Nice day fishing! Are Long Beach and Jones Beach a good spot to hit? I'm looking forward to my first outing down that way...
Absolutely! Hit those spots soon because these fish aren't going to be around too much longer, winter is really kicking into gear now😭
I was out today in Long Beach no hits and froze my hands. Always seem to have better luck at Jones.
En que estado es .?? State.??

Try bombarda with skirt octopus rig. It catches almost everything. Just give you an idea.
that wouldn't work
