- Thillana in Shankarabaranam performed by Mavin Khoo with his Guru Adyar K.Lakshman...also in the orchestra is Baba Prasad (son of Adyar Lakshman) on Mridangam and on violin Vijayalakshmi Kulaveerasingam who was Khoo's music teacher
@ 5:27 is one of the great manodharma moments in dance. Mavin khoo is so deeply musical and in sync with his guru....that he immediately responds to the brigha here. The embellishment came from the genius of the guru but the shishya responds to it and incorporates through the slightest shirobbheda.

This man is graceful, masculine, quick, coordinated and a great performer.
This is the Thillana, I performed for my Arangethram in 1987 in Sri Lanka. Beautifully and gracefully done. Brought back many memories!!!

One of the most difficult thillana of Guru Adyar K.Lakshman sir.
The particularity of this thillana is that it begins 2 karvais before the thaalam.
And the mey adavu starts in usi (1 karvai after).
So very difficult to sing it while doing nattuvangam.
