i've never heard of an explanation for why the pros from all around the world have this speech pattern. my theory is that all the international players learned english from one person (patient zero).
but okay, why would they all happen to learn from one person? i think they learned english/mannerisms from watching other pros, and it spread like a disease, but okay i concede there are other possibilities. i think my idea is slightly better here because if takes takes takes takes takes, then takes takes takes. but okay then you can take take take, but if i take take, then okay take take.
And here I find compensation but Ok
This is a computer line but Ok
I wonder what “ok, but ok” is in Russian. Maybe they have some phrase they use all the time that translates.
Not really
@@kuchitsu4 i feel like it's used kinda like "davai"?
It would be an one hour video if you included agadmator
Hahaha so true!! Always noticed this in interviews... so glad you made this video. Spread some awareness lol
The reason for this is that professional chess players are the most contrarian bunch on the planet! That’s how they are trained to think.
Hahaha :) - missing "10x OK" of young Vincent Keymer and all the popular "i think i'm ok here, im ok, i play solid, i am ok" from Hikaru :)
I wonder how you noticed all of that repetitive oks, very funny video
Hehe I've seen many chess interviews ;-) "ok but ok" has been a phrasr I've used internationally for years ;-)

A couple of things I do I'm trying to stop.
1. I say "actually" too often even tho I'm not British. Sorry Brits! :D
2. I say "right?" at the end of sentences too often when I ask for verification of something.
We all have these personal ticks or habits :-)
Hahahah
It's because... Some games you win... Some games you lose... But thats ok ;D
Most of the time it is just a "pause" word until you decide what to say next rather than saying nothing for a moment.
Another thing I see these chess players use a lot is I mean. I mean, but ok, they use it way more than needed.
