@@theotheseaeagle There are "robins" in Australia. They are the Australasian robins (family Petroicidae). They are songbirds not related to European or American robins. Many Australasian passerines are not related to many other passerines, occupying a rather basal position in the Passeriformes, though not necessarily related to each other. This suggests that passerines originated in Australasia. There is the same thing with parrots, the closest living relatives of passerines. All extant parrots that are not true parrots (New Zealand parrots and cockatoos) are Australasian.

I watch this bird and realize this: Their entire life consists solely of eating and occasionally making babies, in which they feed, so that those babies can grow up and do the exact same thing. That's their life.

In bird life the more you can eat the more you are given. The smaller weaker ones die off from weakness illness or attack or pushed out by bigger siblings. Just how it works for the birds.
