It honestly feels really weird to see this journey coming to a close. It's been a really special one, and I'm very glad to have been here for it, even though it's not over yet.
Imagine being Gortash, chosen of Bane, a billion carefully laid plans for both the Absolute plot and to get him to be Archduke. Then a gnome and his homies come into his house and he just drops the ball.
"small minds like Gortash" "Elder Brain, enslaved by mere mortals" the quite dismissive dialogue about the Chosen by Raphael I truly believe that Gortash is a genius nerd artificer who thought himself clever, but in fact was not that smart as he thought he was. Like dude honestly thought "All the war, all the conflict, no progress, no unity. How should we solve it? Well, let's put one of the most powerful Netherese artifacts on the Elder Brain..." like what?!!!
Hey Mapo, This has been one of the most interesting, engaging and genuine playthroughs of a game that I've seen in... Idk how long. Maybe ever? Bittersweet seeing it come to a close, but damn - thank you for all of the entertainment this series has provided.
As far as "Alternate Choice from old saves" goes, I'd highly recommend looking at what happens if Shadowheart hadn't healed Isobel for that few hitpoints and those imps had succeeded.
It's so amazing to me that Karlach came in later and Sam is just slaying with her voice performance. Easily sits with the rest of the cast and in scenes like this one, it's perhaps all the way to the top for me.
This playthrough was such a gem! Can’t believe it’s coming to an end. I love to see when creators actually like the games they play and get sad when the game comes to an end. Had a great time watching this one
Gortash fight is significantly easier on playthrough 2 when you know what's going to happen and just disable all the traps in his room prior to the showdown...
I'm glad you managed to hit every major story beat. My first time through I did stuff in an order which means I never even went to the Iron Throne... Of course, now it's time for a Durge run.
I loved this series so much and while I respect your wanting to play BG1 and 2 first, I really home you decide to go straight into a Dark Urge playthrough because it is so good right afterwards knowing what you know
I got the game a few months ago and I’m literally exactly where you are now. I’m going to be sad when it’s all over but I also have so much of the game to experience with different races, classes, origin characters, dark urge, etc. It’s almost endless I think I’ll be playing this game forever, or at least until BG4.
Awesome you got the speak with dead Bane conversation. I found the fight with Gortash underwhelming but Mykul was the peak of the chosen fights and entrances i wish Bane and Bhaal manifested more with there chosen but perhaps there are other pathways that might bring more of that. Karlachs speech and venting is immensly sad but brilliant voice acting
-spoilers- Bhaal talks more if you confront Orin with the knowledge that Sarevok is her father and grandfather and told her mother to kill her and of course during Durge runs. Gortash's fight is so late game it's usual a piece of cake so yeah usually feels underwhelming.
I've watched many BG3 Let's Plays, because I love this game so much. Yours is one of my favourites and I loved every second. Can't wait to see the end. Don't want to see the end.... Thanks for a really, really wonderful time. 😊
You still have lots of great scenes to see. I expect you're going to love it. I hope you will start a new campaign with a totally different character. Doesn't have to be Durge, could be just pure evil(or not, could be pure good, as your current campaign was what I called "in the middle". For example, I made a psychopath Durge Drow Druid Circle of Spores who prefers non-intelligent life. I romanced Minthara. I won't tell you how it ended but it was beyond anything I could imagine. I looked at a few different evil ending. I'm currently on my 5th campaign with only one achievement left to obtain (Honor Mode) and I still see whole scenes I had never seen before. Granted, I'm starting to have a good grasp of all the quests, but I still need a guide to help me to not make mistakes, because there are so many ramifications. This game is really a labor of love.
7:51 since u finished game, the way you actually predicted your Future Ending with this joke is crazy loooool, The Devil Hunter Trio, i legit spit out my food and yelled "Aint no way" . Atleast i hope you got that ending, but i am sure u did.
Gortash that, Netherstone this, the man has finally got his Helldusk Boot that were apparently non-existent lol That Gith tech that is mentioned in on the notes (some DnD high fantasy muggufin tech tbh) is probably how Gortash is able to do video calls For alt choices, it would be interesting for some with immediate outcome, like loosing Last Light Inn fight or taking Gale to the finale of Act2 and actually blowing up, but some just can't be seen/experience just right away, they return with some consequences, big or small, hours later, some are very non-obvious. Like you can't just see Minthara knock-out vs raiding the grove with her, and even Astarion ascending doesn't show in full how his character changes throughout the game (or like if you romance him and talk to into drinking blood from Araj Oblodra, albeit it is small one, but the game riddled with insane amount these type of decision accounting for your state, like a weird one, if you don't save Baelen in the Underdark, you can make Derryth adopt a specific cat in the city as a sub for her husband lol). Plus, there is an epilogue that accounts for said choices and endings for each companion and yourself, there is even one special, albeit small in consequence, state in which you haven't romanced one, Jaheira is alive and you've done her quest.
@ragenaros4475 in that mapo went to the third game in the series before the first two, similar to how he could go to the third game first rather than the first two in the Witcher series
One suggestion for your next playthroughs so you don't lose 80-90% of your viewers like you did this time - don't strech it out that much. People lose interest waiting so long for episodes to be published, so they just move on.
This is very, very silly feedback to comment on Baldur’s Gate 3. What do you want me to do, rush through the game and skip a lot of stuff just so I can what, end the game in how many episodes? 10? 30? The length of episodes in an LP is the length of the game. I have more views on episode 66 of BG3 than I have on episode 7 of other games because it’s just that popular. Let’s plays always drop in viewership, always. It’s how the game works. If you look at any let’s play channel every single video unless you’re apparently Markiplier has a significant drop off from episode 1 to 2, and then even steeper decline. There are BG3 playthroughs that people post that are 100 episodes or more. I have posted episodes 3+ hours long on average to actually make this LP not take as long, which is the opposite of stretching it out. Not everyone has 3 hours, every 3 days to watch consistently and are watching at their own pace and they will catch up. Like how critical role DnD campaigns have over 100 episodes and people will start it all years later. However these videos are here forever and people will continue to come across and watch this series in future. Same thing happens with all my LPs. Hope this painfully long explanation helps you understand
Mapo was never one to focus on views-maxxing lol. The ones who enjoy the him and the game will stay, and the impatient ones will eventually come back for the finished playthrough.
2 episodes per week is stretching it out? 2-3 hour episodes at that.. This is the first playthrough I've watched Mapo play as I've only just discovered his channel, and I can't wait to dive into some of his other play throughs after seeing how delicately he takes in every aspect of the story. It appears his style isn't about rushing through, like you seem to suggest he should be doing... I will personally be staying to simply enjoy the gift of taking your time in these amazing games and I know I'm not the only one.
It honestly feels really weird to see this journey coming to a close. It's been a really special one, and I'm very glad to have been here for it, even though it's not over yet.
Same here
Same D:
I'm kind of glad actually, always interested to see what games are next :)
The scene with Karlach after Gortash kills me every time. What a game.
Yep, same here. I honestly hold it above the much talked about scene with Astarion after he kills Cazador.
Totally agree.
Imagine being Gortash, chosen of Bane, a billion carefully laid plans for both the Absolute plot and to get him to be Archduke. Then a gnome and his homies come into his house and he just drops the ball.
"small minds like Gortash"
"Elder Brain, enslaved by mere mortals"

I’ve definitely cried over Karlach.
I cried when I first saw Karlach's breakdown, and immediately made another save to play as a Tiefling and romancing Karlach ❤
It's so amazing to me that Karlach came in later and Sam is just slaying with her voice performance. Easily sits with the rest of the cast and in scenes like this one, it's perhaps all the way to the top for me.

Eh, I'd argue it's even better having the context of BG 1 and 2!
The bhaalspawn lore from those games will enhance the BG3 playthrough
I got the game a few months ago and I’m literally exactly where you are now. I’m going to be sad when it’s all over but I also have so much of the game to experience with different races, classes, origin characters, dark urge, etc. It’s almost endless I think I’ll be playing this game forever, or at least until BG4.
With Dark Urge you're actually the main character in the story. That's why it's different from other origins.
Awesome you got the speak with dead Bane conversation. I found the fight with Gortash underwhelming but Mykul was the peak of the chosen fights and entrances i wish Bane and Bhaal manifested more with there chosen but perhaps there are other pathways that might bring more of that.

This has been such an amazing journey to witness, thank you for sharing it with us!
Man I’m so sad this is coming to an end but I can’t wait to watch these final episodes
I'm glad you got to do this now. For the longest time, Bane's speak with dead had no voice acting.
I love that you love Karlach ❤ she's the best
I've watched many BG3 Let's Plays, because I love this game so much. Yours is one of my favourites and I loved every second. Can't wait to see the end. Don't want to see the end....
Thanks for a really, really wonderful time. 😊
I’m so sad we are nearing the end.
But I look forward to many more Mapo adventures throughout other games (especially Zelda games)
You still have lots of great scenes to see. I expect you're going to love it.

I don't want this to end 😭
I'm ready to see Mapo cry! Edit: he didn't really cry. Mapo gnome staying strong for his wife😤
might make it to episode 69!
This has been a joy to follow. Now please, you have to do a Dark Urge playthrough at some point for the channel!
7:51 since u finished game, the way you actually predicted your Future Ending with this joke is crazy loooool, The Devil Hunter Trio, i legit spit out my food and yelled "Aint no way" . Atleast i hope you got that ending, but i am sure u did.

I'm now realizing it would have been cool to beat Raphael on part 66
Spoiler-ish
1:41:38 Damn you and your big brain Mapo! Hahaha
I'm doing dark urge play and it's so damn fun... your second one should be that
Don't be sad its coming to an end Mapo, be happy it happened! Theres always the Witcher series, or direct to Witcher 3 similar to BG3 :p
Huh in what world is Witcher 3 similar to Bg3?
@ragenaros4475 in that mapo went to the third game in the series before the first two, similar to how he could go to the third game first rather than the first two in the Witcher series
Why didn’t he have to fight any Flaming Fist in Wyrmrock?
not gortash's journal casually spoiling the dark urge story lol
Are you not planning a Dark Urge run? 😢
He’s said he wants to do the first two games and return to BG3 after.
@Zapdos7471 Oh okay! Thanks for answering : )

Crying in the club bc I want the first playthrough to last forever😭🫶🏻
