Serious question: if the US system trusts the American people, then why is there still an Electoral College? What other countries tolerate being denied a direct vote for President?
The United States has implemented the Electoral College ever since it's inception. Since then, the U.S. has become the most powerful, influential and most prosperous nation on the planet. I have been reading about this possibility since the early nineties. I am not at all surprised that this has happened and I think the real questions needing to be asked are: 1. Looking at the replies, I think many folks misunderstood me. Pelosi and Schumer wanted to means-test before giving direct Treasury payments to American citizens in response to economic hardship caused by COVID-19. Like many people, I believe that this was an unnecessarily complex, and NOT well-meaning, approach. It would have held up for what many laid-off or furloughed Americans would be a vital infusion of cash. Instead of stalling, these legislators should have moved ahead with the relief and let the IRS sort out whether it needed to be tax-free or treated as income. As for multi-millionaires and billionaires sharing in these payments, that's still a better outcome than poorer Americans not receiving immediate relief, whether it be in the name of "conservative" virtue-signaling or class warfare. Hope this cleared things up.

I have been reading about this possibility since the early nineties. I am not at all surprised that this has happened and I think the real questions needing to be asked are:
1. What do we do to be prepared for the next pandemic?
2. What type of leadership should be chosen to lead us through the next few years? I want people who are NOT climate deniers, anti-vaccine, anti-conspiracy theory, etc.
You get the idea.
There was a theory called methane or clathrate gun theory that stated if the permafrost and seafloor methane became released, it would set off a irreversible reaction leading to a doomsday scenario - mostly disproved - let's hope so.

My wife is a type I diabetic and I am in a fight with a major illness, which puts both of us in the highest risk category for COVID-19 complications (like death). We have two young children. I tried to get absentee ballots for three days, each time being told there weren't any, and come back another day. Given the risk we faced by voting on Tuesday, we decided against it. Our polling location, which is normally staffed by about 25 people, had four. One of them is now in ICU on a ventilator. Nothing is worth the risk of losing these years with our children. As for Wisconsin, my wife and I will be moving out of Wisconsin, taking our small business, and the good paying jobs and valuable training I provide, out of Wisconsin as well.

He must be trembling in his oceanfront estate.
Thank goodness this is being said, if only we will wake up!

The contrast between Gore’s sense, knowledge and decency and that of the current US President and other politicians is astounding, and also quite tragic.
the sad thing is America will wait for Miami I mean Mar a lago to be under water before the doing anything about climate change.
And taxpayers foot the bill to raise the elevation of Mar-a-Lago. Taxpayers already paying to raise the streets in Miami due to rising sea levels. And it's EXPENSIVE.
Kinda like they were saying it would be expensive to actually do something about climate change
@@nickg3794 I haven't been to FL in a while so idk if it's still the case but I remember some years ago it was illegal or heavily restricted to have solar panels bc the power companies couldn't let go of their cash cow...IN THE SUNSHINE STATE. There are issues with implementing renewables and green energy but government would rather keep doing back door deals than address the problems. Hopefully more people get educated and vote for real solutions, I love FL and I'd hate to see it gone.
@@carlosizz89 Yeah there was a interview with the mayor of Miami who was going over the numbers on their infrastructure costs to raise roads that were constantly getting flooded due to rising sea level. I didn't know myself either. The mayor was essentially telling everyone that "thing we been talking about" is already here. The pics and video before they raised the roads and built bigger sea walls was crazy.
@@carlosizz89 Yeah as you know FL is mainly older retirement community. And many of those people are conservative and old school who this global warming is BS. That's just crazy. No solar panels in a place with 90% sun
@@nickg3794 some moron would say something stupid like "solar panels would steal sun from the oranges growing!".. like that idiot that said wind turbines make the earths rotation slow down...
Love ya Bill. Your a national treasure
It's really funny to me how much Gore triggers hat cult types. I don't really have an opinion on the guy, but then again I love him because of the people that he triggers.
Thanks.
There’s no comparison between him and Biden.
Why doesn’t he run again???
Doesn’t want the pay cut.
He's made enough Money off of Global Warming …. Have you seen his new Private Jet …. That shit's Sweet
Does ManBearPig still think he invented the internet 😂😂😂😂😂😂
