I just saw this video and I love both plugs. But the edge goes to the hydro minnow for where I mostly fish these days. The Raritan bay, most spots are shallow off the beaches. Tight lines!
@@robertyacoub9705 just the depth, black at night was the best color so i spray painted whatever i had. ground down the tongue a bit to keep it from going too deep....the current was strong and it would charge right to the bottom otherwise.
@@robertyacoub9705 not sure I answered this but only took the tongue down a bit these were mid water not top water but with the current pulling on the lure it would bottom out. didn't seem to change the action and that spot was always productive I just got tired of parking at sunken meadow and hiking to the river. lost too much sleep chasing fish.
I found a hydro, landed a keeper stripper and then lost the lure to a wind knot that snapped. Really did like that lure.
Yeah they are great!
I have fished both.. I think the SP casts slightly farther, but at short range for surface fish, the hydro seems to get the job done a bit better...
I agree, thanks for watching

Yo-Zuri is the BEST! Been using the Hydro Minnow since it came out!
Nice Striper the other day on it.
Do you like the crystal minnow?
Thank you!
@@Bsprecksfishing YES! The blue silver & blue mackerel colors in spring have always done me well.
4 3/8 on light tackle.
It’s a schoolie killler!
What tackle bag is that? I really like it!
I would have liked to have seen your retrieve speed
I don't know if it's my devices
with the infinity screens
but I couldn't see the action of any of the plugs.
Yeah it was kind of on the outside of the frame, I apologize
fishing the Nissequogue I used grind down the tongue and spray paint them black...for night fishing
Grind down meaning removing the tongue of the lure?
@@Bsprecksfishing yes, liked the weight of the lure but needed it to run a little more shallow...
@@bestmusic9879 Interesting. Removed it all the way or just some? Did it affect the action, other than depth?

Whats that tackle bag man its fure
have you ever fished in the pond next to the Chalet hotel? on 25 a? loaded with geese...any fish in there? do you know?
Yeah lol no fish in there in my experience, never freezes tho must be spring fed
Hey Brian or anyone, which do you think maintains its action better at a slow retrieve?
For a super slow retrieve the hydro will have better action
Did i inspire this 😆. Good info!
Haha between the fish I caught on the hydro yesterday, and our conversation, yes
What size hydro minow is that
6
Which one cast better
About the same, I forgot to talk about that part
Awesome
Thanks for watching
