I’ll try to explain what is the Hu means. In Mongolian: Huu - Хүү - Son Huukhen - Охин - daughter Huukhen - Хүүхэн- Women Hun - Хүн - Person Humuus - Хүмүүс −People Hun turulktun - Хүн төрөлхтөн - Human being, human kind Hunnu - Хүннү - ancient Mongol State Mongolians are Hunnu. The Hu is basically begging, root of the word of Hunnu, human, humanity, people, person, women, daughter, son.
Hu isn't basically begging. It means living will/thought. There is a common phrase, thought made manifest, and this is essentially what it is. One's will. Thus when they say hu hu hu hu they are saying this is my will. Come at me and I will obliterate you. As the lyrics point out. One cannot help but note the similarities in language between Scots (hen, hun meaning women etc and mongolian. One wonders if it is perhaps connected to the ancient Scythian roots of the Scots and the hunnu mongolians.
That 2 stringed instrument is called “Morin khuur” and green archery shaped instrument is some kind of guitar which called “towshuur” but 2 strings but they made it in 3 strings. Blue morin khuur represents “thunder” red one is “fire” and towshuur represents “nature”
The Hu is short of The Hunnu, the ancient Mongol empire existed long before Chinggis Khan. The Hungarians also connected to The Hunnu, their ancestors rooted from Hunnu too...I heard. Hope Hungarians don’t mind that they have roots all the way back Ancient Mongol...🙂

They're using a technique called throat singing. Fun fact anyone can learn it however.. the mongolians have evolved a superior lung capacity and strength due to the cold high altitude which is why when they sing it sounds fantastic but when someone without these genetic adeptations sings in this way it can be subpar.

I have been listening to these guys since they first came on U tube. Try listening to another group who has been around for a good decade now called Hangai fr Mongolia. They r very very good also. Lots of throat singing, use of traditional instruments and elec guitars etc. Great stuff fr BOTH groups.

It is a totally different thing entirely they were on some shows and it was a few years old Jaya and Ono were on a game show on Mongolian TV and some different individual videos of them have surfaced doing different things previous to this band. The other band is not interchangable with them at all and is an entirely different genre and style of music.

The Who is a British band, not American lol 😂 😆 Anyways, this song rocks!! And you guys are really oblivious to the meaning of this song. It is very meaningful. Do a quick Google search on Gengish Khan and you will know what this is all about, from the Black Banner to the sacred meaning of what a horse is to the Mongols. It’s not just “oh, that fiddle made a sound like a horse” 🤣 Start reading and you will know a bit more about the world
The black banner is the war flag while the white banner is the flag flown during peace. And in Mongolian history, it's not the same kind of flag that you're thinking of, there's like 9 tails hanging from a mast.
The Hu and Hanggai are different bands... of course simliar styles... one from Mongolia and the other from Inner Mongolia... all Mongolians of course ;)

We don't listen to old rock so we wouldnt know where a band was from. We only know our 65 year old American dad liked it. I am fairly certain he could name some American rock bands. In fact I would go so far as to say there are far more great American rock bands than there are British lol.
