Kenyon and Gil understood the question. They're talking about the perception of styles. It's like how LA players see OC players. OC is considered soft compared to LA. SoCal is considered soft compared to the Bay and Cali is seen as soft compared to the rest of the country overall. Not every player is one way in every region but that is how they are perceived based on overall styles. HS reffing in each region also dictates those styles. Cali reffing tends to lead to less physical play.
Kenyon should have explained it better.
Exactly they judge by where you hoop at you get the point. Bro
You’re comparing styles but naming areas in California La vs OC isn’t about style they this it’s soft because of location.
Kenyon is right but Nick and Josiah is they feelings
@@thepewpewlife1562 all Kenyon had to say is there are regional differences in how basketball is played because of the environments of each place and the local culture. Don't call it "soft". I hate that word because it's used as an insult to dudes who had the audacity to grow up with both their parents or weren't "struggling" trying to survive. It's less to do with a location because Tatum is from St. Louis, Missouri(same place as Nelly the rapper) and Kobe grew up in Italy as the son of an NBA player. They don’t get it. Kenyon is trying to explain that these California hoopers don’t be growing up playing basketball in the same ass conditions as hoopers in the South, Midwest & East Coast so the style of play isn’t the same. Isiah Thomas grew up hooping in windy ass Chicago in the 1970s outside same with Derrick Rose and others. Look how physical Brunson and Mitchell are as nepo babies compared to these other guys.
The point Kmart was trying to make was that California best players are play a more skill base play style that doesn’t use as much physicality compare to other cities style of play cites ie. Chicago (D rose, D wade, Isiah Thomas) and Detroit ( Chris Webber, Draymond Jalen rose, and NY ( Ron arrest, taj Gibson, jokim Noah) those cities produce a play style that considered more physical I.e more tougher

@drezred8478 But bro that’s the situation of anyone hooping in a large city in America. The hood is everywhere, hood dudes are everywhere. We all had to hoop against a mfer that had the 9 but most people understand it’s just a game and that you can get it back in blood on the court.
Y’all are damn near if not the biggest state. It’s no reason for yall and Texas not to have that. If we taking per population, then Maryland, South Carolina, Indiana walking ish in basketball college and above.
@@kite36 so how are we soft when its the same everywhere? Never seen a dude bully Miller or his sister but I see a D Wade from Il.
@@HTM7700 Most of the ballers in the league are from Southern California alone.
Cali born & raised. At 16, I used to go out to the DMV to visit family & most cats I hooped with assumed I was from SoCal & lived on the beach & I heard that we played soft. After I gave ______ work that changed, but coming from the Bay, I played a lot more 1 on 1, whereas the DMV dudes I played against played more team ball. Ultimately, just because that's what they thought doesn't make it true.
His point is dumb you think they soft bcuz of weather?
Dmv respresenter here. We definitely played one on one. Plus you can't lump the dmv as a whole. That's DC, Maryland, Virginia.
You could have a different game just living on a different side of town
From DC. What part of the dmv you hopped at because it ain’t nothing heistboxes where I hop at..
Yeah that depends on where in the DMV and who you’re including in that. Out of towners call parts of this area the DMV that are not. I grew up in Landover….we play on one on one religiously. This area rivals other STATES in ball and it’s just a county. We wouldn’t dare be called soft but have the same houses as Cali surrounded by apartments. NY just usually leads everybody else in the hate dept…that’s all this is.
Yet So Cal beat you cats in the Bay in those state championships
Kenyon right! If we had hot weather year round in Chicago it wouldn’t be a reason to go extra crazy when it starts to get warmer
Nick feeling like eazy e
West Coast is more finesse, East Coast is more physical.
West Coast is SKILLED and PHYSICAL...yall just some dumb@sses..white people made yall dumb
I’m a real estate agent in LA and the hood is made up of roughly 60% of properties with 2 or more units
😂. He doesn’t know LA at all. Palm Trees are on the West Side where people don’t hoop. Where people hoop it’s not all peaches and cream.
Yeah but it’s the scenario. It’s like the hustle mindset in NYC compare to Miami. u get off work at 2pm - you could head to the beach and get a tan. NYC we don’t have that. Ain’t nobody stopping at 2pm - we got to get this Money. The grind don’t stop.
@@1844life facts
Facts !!!!
These people see the LA on t.v and think Skidrow doesn’t exist
@1844life I feel you but LA don’t have that either. You can play “next” at Venice but it’s not worth it. Most people in LA ball in the real hood. Drew League is a great examples of the ballers we got.
@@1844lifeboy what u think LA is like? Lmao the place that gang bangin started u clown.
First lets get it🔥💯
I was trying to think what to type lmao u beat me to it
It's like the difference between the Biq East and The Pac12
I always wondered why dudes who grew up in houses be in gangs.
Cause that shit don’t matter idiot lmao
Km right. My son was living in Cali with his mother and I use to come down there to visit. When I would go hoop with him them mfers didn’t want no contact 😂😂. I’m from Houston Texas where we play tough
3:00 there is a lot of apartments in LA. Kenyon don’t know WTF he talking about. #OnCompton
😂 #Inyafellins
He not talkin bad he saying it's a different element wat he was saying that's all. But I'm not from Bumpton
@@whomeyhate219 it’s not different elements. We got projects and slums out here too.
@@whomeyhate219 *FEELINGS*
@@whomeyhate219 He’s wrong. He has no idea. Same elements in Compton Watts etc as any other ghetto in America. Outsiders go to Beverly Hills and suburban communities and think that’s Cali as a whole. Yall ignorant.
I got shot playing ball in Compton
🥷 in Cali soft that’s why they gotta run in gangs they need backup because they weak by themselves
Anybody from the East Coast who saw West Coast teams will automatically think them jokers were some soft muthas. East Coast teams will always thought to be some rough and rugged New York Knicks/Detroit Piston type cats.
Idk why 80 s 90s 00s California was a lot tougher than any state in the country
@tinyfalcon1185 it's the flashy gameplay like Kenyon says
"Whats Wrong With Citrus" im crying 😂😂😂
Here goes kenyon talking about how tough he is ....again....but he cried on thr couch when hes garbage son got traded....😮
They in the circle from that’s 70’s show🤣
