- Incredible practice circular saw rail guide.! put it on the line and cut it. that's it! No clamp, this is self clamping. easy construction and great result.
Great work. Plus here's a couple of tips from a (now old and) very experienced wood worker.
1. Add a 90 degree cross piece underneath and at the beginning of your track board. Always quicker.
2. Leave your track board sticking out the other side of your fence for clamping (hand spring clamps are enough) as well as a 45 degree guide (cutting with saw at 45 degrees).
3. Trim the abrasive paper a little further, even micro granules will dull your blade.
I've added these refinements after decades of using this kind of system. Also, an 8 foot version for large panel board can be helpful too. I've usually kept both in the workshop.
Thank you.
For goodness sake, use a push stick when using that circular saw! It takes a small lapse of concentration or a moments slip to lose fingers/thumb (@27secs). I have been working in wood for well over sixty years and the most precious and valuable item in the workshop is yourself. Keep safe and thank you for posting.
@@Richardz I thought so to, but as per the original comment at 0:27 he runs his hand through the table saw when making the jig.
The simplest design I've seen yet works great, great idea to use a sandpaper backing to provide grip, well done.
You left me speechless man! That is a super effective tool with no effort and you made it in less than 1:30 minute !! If you will come to Italy I'll offer you a coffee
i just built one. Never so easy for me to using a circular saw. Before I was scared to use it and afraid to cut my finger and never can made it straight cut. Now I did. Thank u so much for this design easy and simple. As female, I love it.
It's amazing how stupidly simple ideas there are to make work easier. :-))
Brilliant! As Muadibe mentioned, "Simple is always the most practical". I'm going to make one this weekend. Thank you for sharing this idea!
Best and simplest one I’ve seen so far.
Thanks
What a brilliant and simple idea. Thank you.
I like you because you do simple tools to help us. Thanks a lot for share with us.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The simplicity is genius 😂👍🏽
I have seen lots of DIY saw guides but this is simplest and easiest of them.
Great idea and I made mine today. Instead of sandpaper, I put small drops of clear silicone on the bottom and it works great. I also bring two spring clamps with me. I plan to keep it in my truck to use to break down plywood I buy at Lowes in the parking lot. Cool idea.
I got a piece of wood flooring with the rubber backing on it, been saving for I don't know what. Will see if it works tomorrow. Nice idea, thanks for your time.
That is quite simply genius! Simple but brilliant. Thanks for sharing the tip.
Simple and easy are the best! Thank your for sharing.
This guy is the Einstein of DIY.
That’s pretty darn clever!
I think I would still use just a spring pinch clamp on the ends to keep it from moving though.
To be safe.
Amazing simplicity in this!!! Love watching you work!!
Ah, nothing like the ol K.I.S.S. principles without all the "bells and whistles" (and B.S.)! Nice job!
Haha, finally I find it fast and easy to make it, GREAT
That's a very interesting idea with the sandpaper; I'll have to try it. I have used a variation of this for 40 years. I use 1/4" fir plywood for the base (no need to go thicker), and a narrow strip of the same 1/4" ply for the guide. I never clamp the guide; because the good side of the wood is face down for a clean cut, I use two 3/4" nails to secure the guide, which when done I loosen, leaving the small nails in the guide for next time. Works very well.
Hi,thanks for the comment.dabblign with making my own guide for my Makita circular saw as well.probpem with this is I'm concerned the 100grit sandpaper might scuff the material I am working on....what's your thoughts?
@@conradpaul6100 I thought that too. Maybe some higher grit automotive sandpaper might be better? 300+ grit?
The most simple. The best Idea!!!!!!
Just nice. I have Never thought about Sand Papier 👍👍👍👍😉
The sandpaper on the bottom is an awesome idea.
Excellent jig! Keep it simple....... Thank you.
Great idea !!! Outstanding work. Thank you for sharing.
Call me paranoid, but I would still clamp it. Especially on more expensive wood. Love the idea and I can use it for other things. Thanks
De los mejores de youtube. Simples, sencillos, pero muy funcionales sus creaciones.
Another "now why didn't I think of that?" moment.👍👍👍👍👍
That is so simple yet so useful and something a person with my skill level can make.. Thanks for the great idea
The BEST ideas are usually the SIMPLE ones - WELL DONE! Subscribed.
Simple, practical. Good job and thanks for the idea.
Fantastically simple 👌 thank you
When I saw the window in the suggestion margin, I thought - oh no, not another one! I was WRONG!
Simple and effective , great idea and uncomplicated video. Thanks for both. 👍🏼🤓
Very good idea for a framer, quick, simple cheap and don't have to mess around with a chalk line.
Ty for making a video that doesn't over complicate. Exactly what I was looking for!
Simple yet genius! Great idea buddy.
Ustam merhaba. Çok pratik ve kullanışlı bir klavuz olmuş. Ellerine sağlık.
Teşekkürler Engin Bey
I like this idea. It’s simple yet effective. And cheap.
best and simplest hack for this problem i’ve seen.
I'm making that, thank you, right to the point!
Absolutely brilliant!.. so easy. Glad I saw this before spending ages making one of the other, fancier designs :-))
It's nice and inspiring how far you've come, seeing where you are today and where you started. Congratulations.
Great idea,nice
Other easy and practical project. Tomorrow I'll make mine. Thanks
Simple is always the most practical.
I would use the rubber mesh that you can buy at Home Depot and other places. It's more secure and will not cause any damage. And it comes in various colors.
This is really good for rough work. Not so much for finish or fine work. I really like this device. I'll make a couple of them with different grits.
Very good idea... I will surely make one... Self clamping with Sandpaper
So simple but great, thanks going to build one.
Thank you. I’m going to make my own instead of buying.
Anti-slip circular saw guide would have been more descriptive. Anyway it's a great idea.
Very simple and efficient. We'll done my friend
Very good video, simple and direct
Keep it simple ... I love it.
I will however use a alu rail (no need for a table saw) and some silicone as anti-slip.
Thanks for not dragging this out. Good, short video.
Brilliant in its simplicity!
Excellent and the simplest way to explain it!
Everyone stop making circular saw guide videos... this is the best of the best.
In my country this would be called stupidly simple😁 great work mate your head is working unbelievably straight forward👍👍
Best, and simplest one, I've seen yet!!
Awesome tip, thanks for sharing
Excellent idea! Thanks!
Simple and attractive, Thanks.
Excelente, me gustó mucho...
I am going to make one of this for me. Great projet!!! Excelent idea.
Great idea!! I could use a guide at times, but the cost verses the use was tough. I will jump on your idea and make myself one. Thanks for the video.
Super simple but a great design. Thank you for sharing 👍
very simple good idea Allah bless u
Wow! That's Great Idea.
Outstanding work. I'm lost for words
Excellent. The big brands won't like it though.
they will probably copy it, as usual..
Since a Makita track guide costs as much as the circular saw, it is obvious they don't like it. I always wonder how the hell a strip of extruded aluminium with two silicone straps glued on it, would justify the price?
Elinize sağlık. Pratik ve güzel bir uygulama. Benim için çok yararlı oldu.
I give this Idea a 8.5 / 10
Thank you. Great idea !! You made my day.
Love the idea of using sandpaper as a gripper.. Nice one
Simple and effective.
Amazingly simple and effective!
Simple and useful. Best regards!
Simplicity at is finest.
Lovely, how simple I wish I had thought of this !
Very clever man God bless you.
Genius. Thank you very much.
Skateboard grip tape would be easier to get. Basically sand paper but more durable
Amazing and very simple
Man! Why didn't I think of that? Great job.
very good video.
The best of the best !!
(Less is more)
True diy Great job man.
WHAAAAAT??? AWESOME!! Thanks for sharing!!
Lol I will have to modify mine after seeing this, great idea 😹🤗
Thanks for upload, I have same circular saw and I'll do it for myself.
