I have ADORED Vadym - ever since his Cliburn triumph! This performance is unique since it is faster and even more delightful than the scores of versions on RUclips! ♥♥♥♥
... this recording is made according to the philosophy of "time based stereo", only on two special microphones that capture the lively, natural piano balance. Thanks! Balance Engineer Ivan Ohar Ì.OharRecords
Very nice ! However this ground is not from Henri Purcell but form a contemporary : William Croft. Purcell has nevertheless composed several grounds in the same spirit : New ground in E minor, Gournd on a Gamut...
How does this make you feel? Happy or sad? Do you see any similarities with "Invention 6," as I do? Would you revisit this beautiful work with different emotions as you evolve throughout your life? Would love to her your thoughts
/Wonderful. So only an Eastern European can interpret a piano piece... we are different souls than further west. This way of performing is sad
It's too fast, sounds like a Menuet. At this rhythm loses all its "ground". It seems that the actual tendency of the pianists is to play it so fast, but the others musicians players respect the true speed. Why?
Skillful rendition, but misdirected. Properly performed, the Ground blends imperceptibly with the right hand. For this to happen the tempo must allow it, which is to say the piece should be played slower. The beauty is on the inside, not the outside.
The audio engineer who did the recording and then who ever EQ the audio was amazing.
Estonia piano has a very sweet sound, I loved it.
You could recognise piano sound blindfold perhaps. Impressive skill

This ground is actually from Suite No 3 by William Croft, misattributed to Purcell
Superbe !

Try Polina Ovsiannikova. Very different. Tragic and sublime.
Really like this. Learning at the moment. Really helpful to hear all interpretations.
I like this a lot! I've never looked into Purcell's keyboard music before...
Bravo!
This version along with Anton Batagov's is really beautiful.
Bravo!!!!!!

This piece is wrongfully attributed to Purcel. It was composed by William Croft..
interesting, any links to prove?
@@UkrainianLive The origin is disputed. See www.classicalguitardelcamp.com/viewtopic.php?t=126508 for a discussion.
Hmm, interesting
But non the less beautiful!
@@UkrainianLive Yes! Kholodenko played it as an encore at a recital here in 2016, and I was mesmerized.
This player has the best technique I have ever seen

🤩
Brilliant interpretation!
Micheal Nyman got me here. This is one of his piece that he borrow/transform from.
Which one?
He does a Horowitz.
He means wrists below the keyboard just like Horowitz
Inspires😀

“The Death of the Style Brisé”
Poor Purcell...
))
Purcell, a master of baroque variations. Beautiful presentation of this smoooth rendition.thx🎉
Try also Chamovich version, more virtuoso style..
This is so heavy metal and metal is forbidden.
Wd live in a free country, nothing is forbidden)

Well it also is a good bit Glenn Gould.
This ground is hard!
Alas
You need to get into the rhythm and timing. It becomes easier then...maybe you have already mastered it...2 year ago posting.

Anyone knows where to find this sheet music? Is there a Purcell Book?
IMSLP
Nikita Mdoyants own this peace. The rest's overdoing-histrionic, exaggerated stacatto
😻
Yet another sign of the Apocalypse: When Russians "own" Baroque.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
While his fingering is weirder than Gould, that Bravo at the end said, "You play piano well, come to my house I feed you meatball."

Excellent performance, but this isn't a Ground...
Why?
It's too fast, sounds like a Menuet. At this rhythm loses all its "ground".
It seems that the actual tendency of the pianists is to play it so fast, but the others musicians players respect the true speed. Why?
Thank you.@@blueraj3
he is a better pianist than ill ever be, but it sounds very artificial and lifeless to me.
Definitely not. It's beautiful.
Utterly ridiculous.
