It wasn’t Apocalypse that brought Cameron Hodge for the Xtinction Agenda, it was the demon N’astirh, at least the the first of several resurrections of Hodgey baby
Hoping they do something with Genosha as a flashback so we get to see how Xavier, Magneto & Moira X viewed this, given it similarities and differences to Krokoa.
@@Comicbookherald I still think that should be the basis of a Moira X book.... revisiting past events and showing what was "really" going on in the minds of Moira, Charles, and Magneto.
Been reading most of Claremont run for 8-9 months now. And honestly I enjoyed this event more than events like Inferno. Inferno was all over the place with villains, the plan with each of them felt all over the place, I kinda don’t like how cyclops get excused for what he did to Maddie because sinister made her so “it’s not his fault”…. Whereas x-tinction was much better build ups and pay offs I definitely enjoyed Cameron hodge being the main villain compared to inferno multiple villains, mauraders, sinister, many and orphan maker, s’ym and N’astirch, Maddie, etc. It felt like way too much going on at once while x-tinction was way more simple and easy to understand and focus on. I also felt like each X-men and new mutants had something to do in this event compared to inferno, I really like how it was wasnt just cyclops who got to finish of Cameron hodge like he did sinister in inferno instead Rahne, Havoc, Storm, pretty much everyone had a shot at him. I could say more but ye I just felt it had more clear direction going for it
The time when Cerebro's back-ups went online is a very interesting mystery. In HoX/HoX, the "death" of Moira was described a test of the Cerebro resurrection capacities with a Shiar Golem intead of a Husk. So it was during the Lobdell/Niciezia era I guess.
Since the announcement of Hickman taking over the X titles i decided to sign up for Marvel unlimited and read every X book, side book, mini series, tie ins...everything. I started using Comic Herald as reference and it is fantastic but this one page, comic book back issues is more line by line so I've been sticking to it, but still very loyal to comic book herald bc when I need a break Dave's just got this massive database of reading orders that's wonderful and satisfies my OCD. A month, maybe a little longer I made it to the New Mutants portion of Fall of the Mutants and just burned out. I run an LCS there's a lot new stuff to read, im a huge Batman fan and DC has let Batman books just take over everything, plus all the indie books. At this point its like having a drug habit where you don't get high you just get by, and I've been collecting for 33 years now Yada Yada. MY POINT IS...idk how you do it Dave. I have an insane amount of respect for what you do. You got me through S.W.O.R.D 2-4 (I mentioned that in your last S.W.O.R.D video) bc I had no clue what was going on there. My memory is starting to fail me in comic history, which I live and breath, and even outside of that...not sure whats going on there, probably a better topic for my doctor. Anyway this is just one big long thank you. I used your page before I knew you had videos or a podcast, you keep negative politics out of it and stick to comics and I believe as time goes on you'll be a legend in the community. You're a legend in mine. Ive turned on All my subscribers at my store on to you and even the ones who don't read X-men watch these videos and every Wednesday we discuss the topics you bring up. Don't stop and thank you!
I gotta look into the House of M: Mutopia X issues. That miniseries focuses on the Rite of Transcendence: a ritual that unleashed the untapped mutant potential in children. Hope that can be worked into the Children of the Atom.
Wow, I couldn't disagree with you more here. X-tinction Agenda is one of my favorite X crossovers of all time. Jim Lee's art is amazing and the story serves to get the whole band back together. Plus Wolverine and Archangel go at it, and we get to see what a badass Gambit is! I miss badass Gambit. It also marks when I started collecting comics on a monthly basis instead of just picking up back issues at the comics store, so this story is associated with fond memories of my youth. I long ago stopped collecting.
How did the Indigenous peoples of Genosha feel about the U.N. "giving" Magneto their lands? Because quite frankly this is giving off big United States, South Africa, Israel, etc. energy and I can't see Magneto being comfortable with settler colonialism after everything he's been through.
@@210SAi taking over land after the Indigenous peoples have been completely killed off for you is worse in literally every way than making a mutually beneficial deal with a sentient island, actually.
Why bother mentioning Necrosha event when reviewing an early 90s crossover event? He also didn’t mention Messiah Complex so is that worth another of your downvotes???
this is my first X Men crossover actually and it holds a fond place in my heart. I liked it and still re read it, mainly for jim lee's art
This was my first crossover also and was my intro to the New Mutants and Cable
This was jim lee in his prime. Jim channelling art adams vibes. These along with rogues return issue are jim at his peak.
Same. Jim Lee art made me buy these
Huge X-FACTOR fan and following Cameron Hodge's evolution from X-FACTOR #1 to the end of this event is amazing.
Fond memories of being in middle school buying every single issue of the X-books in this era.
272 was my very first issue and it hooked me instantly!
By far one of the BEST X-Crossovers EVER

It’s pretty obvious how Magneto views Genosha considering he led it at one point
@@210SAi yes, but in terms of House of X/Powers of X retcon, would be curious to hear those conversations.
Absolutely. The "knowing what we know now" version of events would be fascinating

Happa Sunday! Love you and thank you for this!
Múltiple reads, great Crossover, Jim Lee’s work is eXCelent 👏👏👏
Great video!
Can you imagine if Donald Pierce and the Reavers made common cause with Cameron Hodge and The Genoshans?
I love these long videos 👍
Interesting. I prefer X-Tinction Agenda to Inferno personally.

It never even dawned on me that the Children of the Atom might be mutates! Clever theory!
Anyone wonder if the mutants/Anyone would ever rebuild something on Genosha?
I miss Jim Lee's art.
What he did since then at DC is great, but IMHO I always felt that his style works much better with the Marvel characters.
What if COTA are the mutant babies from Inferno?
Maybe I'm missing contextual information or I don't understand it, but was that resolution of their powers a little bit of deus ex machina
Do Atlantis Attacks(90's) next

Man whatever happened to Bishops sister Shard? When was the last time she showed up? Also Garrison Kane....was he a mutant?
Would love to see Shard again
Is that Storm in the thumbnail? Why does she have on a spider suit with gas coming out her hand 😦😐, wth have I missed??
Dude, you kinda sound like James Hetfield 💪
Jim Lee nailed art in these Uncanny X-Men issues. Too bad that the other issues of this story arc looked like crap and never given to Lee to draw.
I think Exodus was already established in Bloodties as a major force in the X-Universe. X-Tinction Agenda was one of my favorites.

The story’s not that great overall. Among all X-men crossovers this isn’t even top 5
Bogdanove's art was terrible through this storyline. I remember being disgusted as a ten year old when this came out.
He was good in the 80s but he was one of these artists who took their style too far. I feel the same about Humberto Ramos.
don't the children of the atom kinda seem like not that evil u-men

By the time Magneto leads Genosha I’m not even sure any non mutant ‘Genoshans’ exist. The country essentially became a version of modern Krakoa.
