Just wondering when it comes to distribution of your self published projects, does your manufacturer/ printer handle that for you, or do you use an independent shipping company?
The manufacturer typically does not handle distribution. That leaves you with two options: Ship it yourself, or use a fulfillment company. We've done both and they each have their strengths and weaknesses.
@@jakeparker44 good to know 👌
🎄 I made it! I’d buy a shirt that says “ go draw something!” !
Will and Lee are back!
Great show, great topics, and relaxing atmosphere. Hustle without the tussle.
I'm still listening to the episode, but I have worked with a few self publish authors, and the amount of work they put into it is astonishing. From getting a reliable printer that is a good cost, to getting sponsors for the book, to touring around the state getting the book into shops. It is unreal.
I LOVE this format of show. Thanks for an old school format.
As always fellas, I appreciate all the nuggets! Being a student of the first Children’s Book Pro class I think in 2020 lol. This encourages me to put more effort into starting and finishing my children’s book project, in the words of Jake the wise finished not perfect. Solid episode fellas!
LOL! Lee's Money Tip 🎶Where I didn't plan what I said I would. 🎶HILARIOUS!
🎄 Here's an idea … if you guys want to sell hats/shirts/pins, you should take this class called Self Publishing Pro. It'll tell you all you need to get that merch moving! 🤣
*Christmas tree* 53:54 Yes do it! Maybe go for T-shirts made from bamboo fiber - stretchy and soft and sort of environmentally friendly (cotton needs a lot more water in processing).
great information guys! SPP not in the budget right now, but I appreciate all I have gleaned over the years from this podcast. Also, seems like that guy is missing a game. We have one called "A Christmas Story: Card Scramble"
Brilliant all round advice 👌
Was actually wondering if MVP would come up, good to hear it (a concept I only discovered later in life)
Love your videos! Thank you!!
I'd buy a baseball cap with "go draw something." I don't have any artist inspiration clothes/accessories (other than bookmarks) at all.
🎄 Crazy amount of board games for Christmas
Will looking fit man. Awesome.
🎄Thanks you guys! Even more determined to self-publish after this. Seriously considering SPPro too. Appreciate the perspectives!
Let me know when it comes up for sale! I'd love a hat and a shirt! 😊
Hey guys, will you teach this class again after this term? I want to take it but I will be out of the country for the entire month of September so Id miss a significant amount of this course. But Im 100% in if you do it again. Thanks.
Idk I’m not even at a point in a career to even start thinking about self publishing. I don’t have that marketing personality. Takes a special kind of someone to do it all himself.
useful this!...wondering how much Will is investing in marketing for his game? and any thoughts on kindle publishing?
🎄Id probably buy a shirt!
🎄
I like Lee’s idea! I want an enamel pin! 🐇
I'd buy a hat! Do it! :)
