    Hey guys, and welcome back to the channel. Now, Bark is not only one of the leading parental control and online safety solutions, but they're also known for providing the right balance between allowing children to explore the internet and ensuring their safety. So I decided to try Bark for a month myself and and my family in order put it to the test for you guys. So, here's a little back story. A year ago, my wife and I started to get worried when our kids started spending more and more time online. We had just heard too many bad stories. So we decided to look for a reliable parental control option, and that's when we discovered Bark. So in this review I'm excited to share how Bark has made keeping our kids safe much easier while respecting my kids privacy at the same time. Which was really important because I really didnt want my kids feeling like I didn’t trust them. Now before we dive in, let me tell you, Bark has been a game-changer for us! It's given us peace of mind without having to pry into our kids' digital lives, making it a win-win for both my wife and I as well as our children. Now, I’m not sponsored by Bark or being paid to say this, I’m just sharing my honest experience. But if at any point in this video, you’d like to check out Bark, you'll find a useful link as well as discounts in the description down below that'll save you some money, and you won't be able to find it by going directly to their website. My search for parental control softwares ended when I found Bark, because unlike traditional parental control softwares, Bark adopted an intelligence-driven model. It scans my children's texts, emails, and 30+ social media platforms for any potential safety concerns and then sends me alerts about issues like cyberbullying, suicidal thoughts, online predators, and more. At first, I was skeptical about the extent of control Bark might give me and how my kids would react to this. I was surprised to find that Bark took a very balanced approach. For example, it doesn't allow parents to read all the conversations their children have unless there is a potential risk. This feature is great, since it prevents me from being an overbearing parent, which as I mentioned earlier is very important to me as I think that will just end up pushing my kids away from me and trying to hide something from me. But, I still had the assurance that I would be alerted to any potential dangers. Bark's algorithms are based on AI and are extremely proficient. They can detect potential issues even if the messages are in coded language or slang, which is pretty common among teenagers. What impressed me most was Bark's dedication to the ever-evolving digital landscape. They consistently update their system to include new platforms, trends, and threats to stay ahead of them if their were any. Now, you might wonder - Is Bark foolproof? The honest answer is no. There were a few times where the system flagged harmless messages. However, I'd rather have an overprotective system than one that misses out on a crucial alert. Over time, I found the software to be learning and adapting, reducing these false alerts. Finally, let's discuss Bark's customer support. I found their service to be top-notch. The team was helpful and responded fast to my questions. When we needed technical assistance and help understanding the features, they were there when we needed them. Now I'd of course, just like to emphasize that Bark is not a substitute for good, traditional parenting, but rather a tool. It keeps my children safe, and gives me peace of mind, which are the two things that are crucial for my wife and I. So, to summarize, I absolutely recommend Bark to any parent who wants to ensure their child's safety online while respecting their privacy. It’s a small price to pay for keeping your children safe and for your own peace of mind. And remember, if you use the link in the description you’ll find discounts applied that will save you some money. And feel free to comment below if you have any questions, as I love getting to interact with you guys, and like and subscribe if you found this video to be helpful or would like to stay up to date with future videos! Thank you so much for watching, and I’ll see you guys in the next one!

    The fact that Bark's AI can detect potential issues, even when disguised in teen language, is beyond impressive. It's like having a digital guardian

    How can you customize alerts with Bark based on your child's age and maturity level?

    • @CSR
      @CSR  Год назад +1

      Bark lets you adjust the sensitivity of its monitoring algorithm by letting you turn alerts on or off for each category of potential issues and for each child. This lets you give leniency to older or more mature children to browse freely when it comes to certain things like profanity without receiving alerts, while ensuring you’re still notified each time a younger child encounters a potential issue.

    How quickly did Bark send you an alert when you tested its text message monitoring with a threatening message?

    • @CSR
      @CSR  Год назад +9

      I also tested Bark’s text message monitoring by having a family member send me a threatening message. Bark sent me an alert 20 minutes later that included the text of the relevant message.

    How does Bark's website and app filtering work, and can you set different rules for different times of the day?

    • @CSR
      @CSR  Год назад +1

      Bark’s website and app filtering can block web access to websites and mobile apps - it uses a virtual private network (VPN) to route all internet activity on your child’s device through an encrypted server, allowing connections to some websites and apps while blocking others. You can use default settings or create 3 alternative rule sets (free time, school hours, and bedtime) and automatically enforce different rule sets during different times of the day, manually switch your child to a different rule set, or completely pause the internet on their device at any time. Changing which apps are allowed is incredibly easy, and it simply requires toggling each app/website on or off.

    Which web browsers and social media apps does the Bark for Kids app automatically monitor? I want to monitor my kids app

    • @CSR
      @CSR  Год назад

      The Bark for Kids app automatically monitors Chrome and Edge browsers, as well as a number of social media apps like TikTok, Kik, Skype, Discord, and even Snapchat. You can then monitor additional apps or social media platforms by either logging into your child’s account from the parent dashboard or allowing your child to log in from their own device. This lets you monitor their account while retaining trust by not requiring them to give you their password so you can see everything they’re doing.

    Can Bark provide a location history of a child's movements, including details about when they arrived and left specific places, and can it track the amount of time a child spends in different areas?

    • @CSR
      @CSR  Год назад +2

      Yes! Bark also keeps a location history of all the places your child has visited in the last 7 days and when they’ve arrived and left those places - so you can more easily identify certain patterns. I also think it’s great that Bark tells you how long your kid has spent in a certain area and that it follows their steps in that area.

    Does Bark offer real-time tracking for parents to monitor their children's location, and can parents set to receive alerts when their child leaves or arrives at specific places?

    • @CSR
      @CSR  Год назад

      Great question! Bark allows you to track your child in real time on Android and iOS. As long as your kid has an internet connection, you can see where they are on a pretty accurate map (in my tests, Bark updated the location every 4-5 minutes). You can also get directions to your kid’s current location, which is pretty useful when you need to pick them up. Bark also has a geofencing feature that allows you to mark places and set boundaries on a map you can add familiar places, like school or home, set a radius of up to 0.12 miles (or 200 meters), and get an alert when your child leaves or arrives in predefined zones. To test this feature, I listed my home, and any time I left or returned to it, Bark sent me an alert within 5 minutes.

    How effective is Bark's website and app filtering in blocking inappropriate content, and is it easy to manage the allowed websites?

    • @CSR
      @CSR  Год назад +1

      Bark did a really good job during my tests, after installing the Bark Kids app to my own Android phone, I tried to visit 10+ adult and online casino websites. Bark blocked every one of them and sent alerts to my dashboard that one of my “children” had attempted to visit this type of website. Unfortunately, when Bark alerts you about a blocked website, it doesn’t give you an option to immediately whitelist it from within an alert page, and you’ll need to manually go into the app settings and add the URL to the list of allowed websites

    Can we as a parents set different web and app filtering rules based on the time of day using Bark's screen time management, and is it possible to create custom schedules for each day of the week?

    • @CSR
      @CSR  Год назад +1

      Bark’s screen time management works by applies different web and app filtering rules to different times of the day. This lets you determine which apps and websites your child should be allowed to access during school hours, bedtime, or free time. You can create different schedules for each day, too, allowing you to restrict access to certain apps during school hours and giving more free time on the weekends.

    Could you explain how Bark ensures monitoring even when a child switches or creates an alternative account? kid right now is kinda tech savvy you know xD

    • @CSR
      @CSR  Год назад +1

      Great question! I like that Bark can detect when your child switches or creates an alternative account. This helps prevent your child from creating a secret profile to circumvent Bark’s monitoring. In addition, I think it’s great that any app or platform you’re monitoring on the account level will be monitored regardless of what device your child is using (so long as they’re still using their own account). Finally, if your child starts using an app that Bark is able to monitor but still isn’t monitoring, it will send you an alert and allow you to connect the account (or allow your child to connect it) to enable monitoring.

    Does Bark work on both iOS and Android devices?

    • @CSR
      @CSR  Год назад

      Yes! Bark works on both iOS and Android devices. It's great because not all parental control apps work on both platforms which can be really frustrating especially when not everyone in the family has the same phone or when deciding on which new phone to get (which is a complicated decision as is:). Awesome question!
