There isn't a single day I don't get amazed by Becker's composing. What a legend. A true guitar legend.
A touche of Chopin, a touch of Yngwie, a touch of Gary Moore - great song
That's a very accurate description!
@@sam08g16Thank You! Maybe it was just a congruent assessment with what I had been listening to at the time…?
What about this is Chopin related?
Maybe that clever modulation? Other than that I don’t hear much Chopin-style and honestly a lot more Yngwie.
@@RozarSmaccotbh i don't dee yngwie here, this is just something on its own, something special. Yngwie is more shreddy
Most accurate cover on RUclips
Excellent cover. Vibrato was wonderful and spot on, as was the phrasing and tone. I was throughly impressed. Thank you for posting this!
Appreciate that, thanks for listening.
Beautiful and so cool ending⚡
This cover must be seen more. Your playing and accuracy is insanely good. Well done!
Seen many covers of this track but this is truly exceptional. The bigger youtubers do not come close. Inspiring as always.
Please guys who can play!!! We need more Jason covers! I love you are putting your guitar sound in the from, shows you know what you are doing! Please make some more ❤️
Live it! Flawless!
Que desgracia lo que pasó con becker....pero si...su disco es un fuego perpetuo jamás se apagará
When i heard this son back in the 80´ i thought nobody never would be able to do this, like Becker, respect,
As a kid, I spent the whole christmas of 1988 listening to that album. Magic.
It's the best cover performance. It's perfect.
another great cover with all the subtleties of Jason' playing !!
Thank you Antoine, I tried to remain faithful to the original. I played the ending a bit smoother than Becker to suit my style.
after all these years of finding your web page with the best transcriptions ever.... its amazing to watch you play!!! greetings from argentina!
Thank you Andres, nice to hear that!
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight i hope you do more perpetual burn full covers... oh, i just remembered i have your bach CD. will give it another listen
I am crying in the gym right now… Jah bless Jason Becker 🗡🗡🗡🧘🏽⚔️⚔️🃏🃏
Wow! Amazingly played. This song is a masterpiece 👏👏
By far the best version of Altitude I've seen!
Great execution, Peter!!
I'll share this to my mate.
omg my favourite cover from this masterpieces. i really love the tone and the articulation and the perfections of all the notes he really hit on the guitar.
This is crazy, just crazy..mad and insane. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
WoW !!! stunning rendition, great guitar work, thanks !
Thank you, glad you liked it!
4:03 i just love that licking starting from the big bend and ending to the pinch harmonic on the 9th fret
Insanely clean and perfect, just amazing
The best version of all times, very Good technique
Just perfect, there’s nothing like the sound of single coils to get that clarity, fantastic work
He's actually using what looks like a Hot Rails pickup in the bridge, which is a humbucker that fits in a single coil slot.
Really treading on hallowed ground here with this one...well done!!!
You make the impossible look easy. Amazing cover.
Amazing!Mr.perfect !Excellent !
Thank you.
Superb! 😎🎸
Best cover of this song I’ve ever seen hands down…
Thank you.
just perfect , i can hear every note really clearly
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely great cover.
I like that you play it in lower tuning. It sounds more daunting and Yngwie-esque
What key is he playing it in?
@@_.LZ._ All strings tuned lower half step
You must be kidding. Perfect! Seriously, came here first because of the John Norum cover and I can believe you did a cover of my favorite instrumental song. Absurdly beautiful to see something like that, also I can believe you keep sending videos regularly since, come on, that's not an easy song. I really love Cacophony - Desert Island solo, Go Off! And Temple of the Absurd, just a suggestion in case you need one.
And keep rocking! Wish to see some music of your own too, you must have made some beautiful pieces.
Thank you for the kind words and suggestions. There is more Becker coming. Yes, I have indeed registered a personal YT channel that will focus on my own music plus some classical. More details to come.
Amazing 👍
Amazing ❤
This is simply insane; no one gets as close as you!
Yes there are amazing covers out there, however, he managed to do it its own way and style which make it awesome by itself.
Gux Drax cover of this song is more accurate and the best ever come close ti the original
@@precioustreasures6045No way!
@@precioustreasures6045Lmao it definitely isn't, the first part of the song is played wrong and so are the arpeggios, he plays them without the slides.
So clean !
That was F’Kn amazing
Amazing !
That was fuckin' crazy man, mad props!
Wow! Your picking technique is amazing
Beautiful tone
Guitar sound is so amazing. Fantastic man. 🔥
that slide bend at 2:56 is hauntingly good
It just came out like that and I kept it :-)
Wow...
Very impressive, great job!

Sweet tone!
Superb……❤❤❤❤
Very Cool!!!
Thank you!
Man you are playing with Fire 🔥
Bravo! 👏👏👏
Amazing cover, that bend at 2:57 was enough on its own for me to like this video 🙌
That's so funny. Everybody mentions that bend!
Oh my
genial
=) just perfect .
Incredible job \\m//
Beautiful cover!
Thank you Viktoria.
Amazing! Great Player!
Thank you.
man!! you have perfect pitch!!!!! great!!!!!
great final
nice ending
Great job my friend. Well done!
Thank you!
Sei un dio
My compliments. The clean part is very difficult to master, because there are a lot of tricky bendings. Perfection is in the details.
Thank you. Practice makes perfect.
the precision is scary
🔝🔝🔝🔝👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻♥️♥️♥️♥️
I keep coming back to this cover, I love it so much :) If you don't mind me asking, was this the neural DSP Soldano SLO-100, and do you know which specific model of guitar and pickups those were. Great cover!
Neural DSP Soldano, yes. Check the info box and comments for all other details. Cheers
Absolutely masterful playing. I loved your more subtle use of the whammy in the outro lead section compared to Jason's version; sounded much better IMO.
Thanks. I actually tried the crazy whammy approach but it just wasn't me.
Mr clapton. You rock !
Haha, the old blackie. Sh'es a beaut!
Fantastic! This so so good. 👌🔥
Been trying to learn this song for so long.Would you mind posting the backing track please?
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😎😎👌👌👌🍾🍾🍾🥂🥂🥂
Fucking brilliant bro.
素晴らしいです😊
ギターの仕様が知りたいです🎸
Amazing! Also your take on this tune is the one I like the best on RUclips. Have you learned it by ear by slowing it down to have this feel or have you used a tab? In any case great job man!
Learned it by ear as a kid in 88/89. Tape and vinyl
😢😢😢
Excellent!!!which pickups by dimarzio do you have on the guitar?
Its the same in all my videos, the Dimarzio pro track.
Tasty
Hi. First of all, excellent cover. I noticed that in the arpeggio section, some arpeggios when you descend them you take a different "route" than most people. Any reason for that?
Thank you. It's just the way I played naturally when I taught myself this piece as a kid.
Hi.
In some passages your picking hand thumb is always bent. In others, it's straight and very relaxed.
Is there a rule (of thumb, lol) for switching between both techniques ?
Good question. You're correct, my picking posture changes depending on the song, style and what sound I'm going for. The flat thumb you mention is what I call "parallel picking" (i.e parallel to the string) and it creates a very clean, creamy attack tone. Several of last years' videos contain parallel picking. I love that sound, but it doesnt work on everything. Bent/angled thumb is my "standard" angled posture (i.e. Paul Gilbert) which gives you the "normal" aggressive attack so common in metal. Bent/angled thumb also sets me up nicely for circular picking on the super fast stuff, which you'll see in most of the newer videos. In total I use about 3 or 4 different approaches depending on the style and what the parts need. Maybe I should do a video to compare and contrast the different picking approaches.
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight Thanks ! Man I had to dig for your answer, RUclips didn't notify me you kindly took the time to reply
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight A video demonstrating the various picking approaches would be really nice. I also find myself using various picking methods, however for me it's never a choice of style but absolute necessity. Of course style also factors in (I would eliminate a technique that prevents me from achieving palm muting when palm muting is required), but mostly I have to pick differently to even hit the strings. Some picking hand positions work great on certain string grouping(s) but the same technique can't land a single note on a different string grouping and I must somewhat reconfigure to activate different muscles and give myself a chance to even play the new string groupings.
So any insight on how it works for you, would be really nice. Thanks for replying !
nice, \,,/
Very nice man...whips Tina s out of the park.
Thank you very much.
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight my only criticism is you're a little too tidy. A fate befallen many a virtouso player. It's not just you but you're your sound. It's not really a true criticism though, you're seriously a shit hot guitarist which is not a label I use lightly. You have REAL talent..... Respect!
@@alanandjess7516 Thank you. Quite right, I prefer clean execution, it's part of my general approach. Occasionally I might phrase a part differently for style/taste reasons such as the end melody in Altitudes, where the original is a bit too quirky for my taste.
Wow❤..Guitar lesson bro
ey man, any Cacophony covers in the works? love the sound.
Could be fun, any suggestions?
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight Images would be cool to see or Concerto as it has some really cool sections.
@@linuxbasics7060 I've covered Concerto and Symphony before, but man, Images... I'd forgotten about that one, great suggestion. I will definitely do it.
That Dimarzio bridge sounds awesome. I'm trying to beef up my strat with a dimarzio.
What Dimarzio are you running in the bridge?
Thanks. It's a Pro Track. Quite dark pickup, great for bright maple necks. Love it.
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight thnx for your reaction. Now i have another option to take in consideration. 😋
@@dannycia9295 No problem, good luck.
This dude……
End of story
Don’t forget Marty Friedman,,I heard him in there too.
What strat is that, is it just a normal one with small frets?, idk if I should get an Ibanez or strat for shred and lead but I like the single coils
Its my own frankenstein parts strat. The frets are not small but medium, it's an older US standard neck. If you want left hand comfort and ergonomics I would say find a strat with a "modern C" 9.5" neck. It truly plays like butter.
Hey what are the make and model of the fret wire on your strat? Looks jumbo. Stew Mac? What is the gauge???
It's a bone stock USA Standard neck from 2007-2009 or so. I'm guessing medium jumbo, but check whatever specs Fender used during those years. Definitely not jumbo.
What pickups do you use on the fretboard (bridge)?
Bridge is Dimarzio Pro Track. Neck is Fender single coil (in this video).

Please do temple of the absurd
the one track I'm not a fan of, but Marty's solo is nice
