I have recently set up a similar channel and have just bought a Harrison M300 that has no thread indicator, I was on the hunt on eBay but having watched this I think I will have a crack at making something. I like the knurled nut! When the shaft is barrel shaped due to tool pressure causing flex, will a couple of spring passes correct that? Or, will a bit of polishing do the job? I realize that the shaft center dimension is not critical; it really only needs to fit through one bushing. I do not have a follow rest on my lathe and have almost mastered making thin barrel shaped shafts. :)
Hi liking the video. Im wanting to make a similar thread dial for my Myford 254 which also has a 3mm pitch lead screw. Any chance of purchasing the indicator dial and gears from you?
