Thanks for this video. A really good and systematic explanation on how to install and configure a Danfoss Icon system.

    Hi
I am writing for some help 😁
We just moved in the new apartment and we have some issues with the heat…we have the same system and I followed all the steps from the video but still we don’t have heat in all apartment and I don’t know what should I do…😊

Check the actuators, are they open. In case they are open it is not related to control system. Something wrong with heat supply.

Thanks for the clear demo! Three questions if I may: We have Danfoss Icon in combination with Nibe S1155 series. 1) When selecting zone temp to 21.0 for some of the zones the heating continues heating up to 21.7 degrees before it stops. Is this a normal situation? 2) Will the Icon app be updated? It has not been for 2 years. 3) How do I load new firmware to the App to update the main controller? Thank you.

Hi! 1.It should not heat up to 21.7C if set to 21.0 only in cases where floor sensor is used. Or some other heating is present. Also might be mixed loops. Thermostat is regulating different loop (cirquit). 2.Hard to say, It is not up to me:) more advanced is Ally app. Second generation Icon and coming Icon 2 is possible to connect to Ally Gateway. Also ventilation, and coming remote boiler relay. 3.As far as I know it is not possible, only new Icon 2 will have this feature.

    Please allow me another questions:
    1) In the comments below you talk about the "ally-app". I am located in Switzerland and cannot find this app in the iphone store.
    2) I have 6 circuits and the problem I have it is with heating and cooling. Lets Assume I have cooling and all rooms are adjusted at 22 degrees and the temperature in all rooms is 25 degrees. Not all valves will open, only a few of them. But if I switch the walves in "off-position" the valves will open for all rooms. For heating here I have the same challenge: Lets assume in all rooms are 20 degrees, but all controllers are selected at 23 degrees, only a few valves open and not all valves.
Is the a change I can made in the configuration, that all valves open at the same time?
    Thanks for your help.

      1) I am not sure which system you are using: new Icon 2 or older Icon first generation. For Icon 2 system and for Icon first generation system used with Icon Zig Bee module store.danfoss.com/ch/en/Climate-Solutions-for-heating/Hydronic-floor-heating/Room-controls/Floor-Heating-Controls%2C-Danfoss-Icon%2C-Zigbee-module%2C-5-0-V%2C-Number-of-channels%3A-0%2C-Attachable/p/088U1130 App is called Danfoss Ally. For Icon first generation used with Icon App module store.danfoss.com/ch/en/Climate-Solutions-for-heating/Hydronic-floor-heating/Room-controls/Floor-Heating-Controls%2C-Danfoss-Icon%2C-App-module%2C-5-0-V%2C-Number-of-channels%3A-0%2C-Attachable/p/088U1101 App is called Danfoss Icon. Both are available on Apple Store or Google Play. I would suggest to contact local Danfoss customer service for support.
2.) At cooling mode try to set lower than 3C from real temperature. For example: if at heating you set 22C, cooling will work till 24C. (there is 2C differential for cooling in software). Also for cooling more is efficient to have manual temperature control, no schedule at all. If you have no App control, it is on manual mode Icon1 or Icon2 have schedule only with App. Actuators might not open all at the same time because of energy saving - PWM control. Switching to ON/OFF control actuators reaction will be faster. PS.: it takes up to 5 min for actuator to react. It is not easy to guess all circumstaces so I would also recommend to contact local Danfoss Customer Service.

0:57 the actuators are not blinking. Even if I follow the step-by-step up to that point. What could be wrong?

Is the connected actuator 24V? Remark: Icon first generation works only with 24V actuators. Icon 2 from factory without transformator works with 230V actuators.

Would you, please, be so kind providing additional information on how to configure it with dual-mode zones? It seems to me that a plus of Danfoss Master 24 v and Wireless Controller (comparing with other similar brand name solutions) is the option to configure a zone as Dual-Mode. According to the manual (i.e., Danfoss Icon™ Master Controller 24V - Installation Guide - AN29434614196101-000402 | 088N2112 01), for such zone "During operation the system will maintain room and the min. floor temperature setting using only floor heating. Only in periods where the floor heating system on its own and with the defined max. floor temperature is insufficient will the radiator be activated to help achieve the desired room temperature.". The question/problem is the following: as I have a distinct pump for the high temperature (radiators) circuit, I need a distinct signal for it, distinct from the signal for starting the low temp (underfloor) circuit. It is my understanding the boiler and pump outputs on the Icon Master would both "fire" to turn on and off the underfloor heating. In this case, there is any electrical signal available for the radiators pump? E.g., would the actuator output on the controller continue providing an output signal even if its channel is paired with a wireless radiator thermostat? Do you, please, have a solution for this problem?

    • @heatingsolutions123
      @heatingsolutions123  Год назад

It is possible to connect underfloor heating and radiator heating to one wired or wireless room controller (thermostat). In this case wireless room thermostat has to be with infrared sensor (IR). Or wired thermostat with immersed underfloor sensor. IR/underfloor sensor is needed for underfloor min. temperature control and radiator activation. Actuator from radiator and actuator from underfloor heating circuit has to be connected so separate outputs and paired with one room thermostat. Boiler relay and pump relay on master controller are activated on demand for heating. With expansion module it can be different. For more questions you should contact local Danfoss representative.

When I change replace an activator, what needs to be done on this control unit?

Unplug (power OFF) Icon Master Controller. Change actuator. Plug in (power ON) and it is done:)

    Good day!
How can I re-setup the control of thermostat. I want to make the thermostat to action other actuators.
Example now the thermostat from one room give control to 1-2-3-6-7. I want to change to give action to 1-2-4-5-6 and to move control of 3 and 7 on other thermostat.
    Thank you.

Hi! Select "Uninstall", then "OK". Select with up arrow output you want to change, confirm with "OK". One by one. And then use "Install" as on video.

@@futurechannel001 Sorry, I do not have first Icon version anymore. Another way to solve your case would be reseting Icon Master ruclips.net/video/ErfuVqSK-8o/видео.htmlsi=3DjTe5BdppbQl_Lk
and all room thermostats to factory setting. Icon/Icon2, wireless and wired reset is the same: ruclips.net/user/shortslPaoofPJnFo?si=Gb4-5lRU_kbA1-xs
After reseting you can program all as new

1.) Just type "Danfoss Ally" and you should find it
2.) Hmm, I would check actuators is it NO or NC. If actuator is NC the same should be set on master controller. And if actuator is NO, NO should be set on master controller. You should check all actuators. Video about actuators is here: ruclips.net/video/yXOUe7eSEd0/видео.html
Also please have in mind if you set 22C for heating, cooling will start at +2C, it means from 24C. This differential is in software.
Also check if room is not set to cooling OFF ME7 video is here: ruclips.net/video/tO9tCZp9YIc/видео.html
