It’s probably because she used a liquid measuring cup for flour
this is why weighing ingredients is superior to using cups. You get the true amount and it doesn't matter if you scoop the flower or compact it in to measure with a cup. It is never as accurate
She didn't drain the corn well enough so it made the batter runnier. She should've set the corn in a strainer so it could drain while she was making the batter.
I also felt like they should’ve layered it

Ok, common mistake I made when first cooking too. You’re using a liquid measuring cup for the dry ingredients. You should get the dry measuring cups 🙂

@@Buzzbuzzbuzz2 Indeed. And if you've had difficulty with recipes not working out, you may have just discovered the reason why. Cooking is chemistry, and as with all chemistry proper measurements are very important.
Also it really does matter what state your butter is in. Not for 'corn on the cob but instead of the corn bone it's a hot dog', but for other things like cookies and cakes. Just FYI for your future endeavours.

Jenna's vegan. The reason why your recipe wasn't turning out right is because she wasn't using the same ingredients as you. She was using vegan versions of them all
They also made slight alterations to the recipe add they went along

Elise Johnson tbh they are equivalent. You just get a more accurate measure when using dry for dry and wet for wet.
