We need to send you an eraser wheel for your die grinder. It makes short work of decals, and doesn't hurt the paint. We used them all the time in my bodyshop.
WELL DONE love the video, I understand you dont get a million views on your videos but for a select few it really makes our day to see you healing vary well and happy working on your projects!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!
Jeff my first job was working for a body shop and they were repainting a lot of Carolina trucking cab over road tractors and guess what my job was ? You got it taking all the decals off the cab and doors and bumpers ! LOL I had it down to 2 days when I had to steam clean them then they went into the shop. Fun part was I was the Gofer so I got to drive them all from the dealership to the shop and back when they were done ! I got pretty good with a razor blade by the time I was done but boy the first few looked pretty rough when I got done with them ! LOL Bandit
Hi Jeff. I bought a scraper handle that takes those single edge razor blades. I use it all the time, an excellent piece of kit. You should be able to find one easy, they're made in the USA. Mart in the UK.
Yeah you need to go down to Napa and get you what they call it an eraser wheel and put it on your drill it will take care of that decal on the truck for you
Acetone ... going to have to try that myself. The manufacturers decals on my ute were tired so I decided to remove them. Removed the plastic lettering with a old plastic credit card, but the glue is left and I did not want to scratch the paint.
Start with mineral spirits first. Allow to set for 5 minutes, or saturate a rag and move it slowly across the glue. Different adhesives have different characteristics.
Not being nit-picky just making a statement because I thought you might find it interesting. As the word Kleenex is used for tissues Cellophane is often used for plastic wrap. However cellophane is actually not plastic, it was made from wood pulp just like paper. The guy who invented it was trying to make a transparent disposable table cloth. The last cellophane manufacturing plant in the US closed sometime around 1990. It was opened by Olin in 1956 bought out by some private investors sometime in the 70s and renamed to Flexel. The building is now part of a bumper factory "Master Guard."
An old printers trick. Take a fresh single edge razor blade and a very fine sharpening stone and work the sharp corners off. The edge will still cut but the corners won't gouge. Thank an old stripper(no, not that kind)
If that truck was mine, I'd just keep it and drive it. A '84 Chevy 4x2 pickup might not be the best vehicle on the road but, it's gotta be better than driving a '97 Mercury Tracer. p.s, I don't know if this video was made before or after your car wreck.
Being the lazy, sorry sob that I am I set a pair of halogen work lamps(those 1500 watt type that bakes you while providing sufficient light for spelunking work) about a foot or so away from said decals and let em bake an hour or so.. Then I slide a sharp hard plastic spreader or even a single edged razor blade quickly around said decalled area followed by laquer thinner or acetone wipedown, but I never,EVER use mommas dish washing scraper brush to remove said decals.... Jus sayin.. Lol !! 😄😁
I have some plastic razor blades that I found on Amazon from a company called FOSHIO. They're inexpensive and one box will last you the rest of your natural life.
trade u a dog for that truck i call em lucky. aint the smartest dog in the usa. chases his tail a lot bad thing is he aint got no tail.i think he think hes a cat. cause his bark sounds like a meow an he is cross eyed. gues he bit his tail off cause he caught it once an he sit by the mail box waiting for for the mail man guess he is waiting on his mail to come he has a tatoo in his ear. that says lucky an he only eats ole roy dog food. u wanna trade
Once again Jeff, you say"that's how it's done..." I disagree... as that is how you do it... I would do it different to as to not take so long... Just sayin... you have your ways... and we have ours... Your's may not be the preferred way or give the results, we are looking for... again, just sayin.
Hang in there, Jeff ! Good to see you casting your shadow !
I’d love an update video for how you’re making out, believe it or not we do care 😉
Have you seen this one? ruclips.net/video/cNkXNZlLc7c/видео.html
In this video Jeff looks to be doing good most likely better than some others who have been in the same situation. Keep going strong.

i guess I am quite off topic but do anyone know a good website to stream new movies online?

I love those wheels,They make long messy job.A fast quick easy to clean up
There’s a rubber attachment that’s made for a drill or grinder that will take them decals off without any paint deterioration.
Jeff, That’s the way I do it also. The sunny side got baked on. Some touch up paint and elbow grease might take care of that, “like that”. Haha
Hey Jeff, glad to see up and moving around, wish I was closer would have loved taking that Tracer off your hands, be a great parts car for mine.
3M also makes a spray called "Wood Grain Vinyl remover"..lifts vinyl lettering like 'Zip-Strip' without harming paint...

Just watching the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Switching to the Door, the Decal and the Rusty.
Wipe the door with your hand to get dirt on the glue! Novel idea!
I never get tired of watching Jeff do stuff. xCop
Not sure about everybody else but I haven't been getting notifications in new videos and I double-checked I should be getting them.
Views have dropped significantly. I contacted YT and, of course, things are just as they should be, right?
@@ElderlyIron as they say it's happened a few time not getting notifications.trust me i made sure im set to get all reminders from you.
@@ElderlyIron Showed up in my list of new videos.
I always use a heat gun and WD40. It will cut through adhesive but won't damage the paint like Acetone will.
Like seeing you editing recorded showes.would be awsom if you feel like giveing us an up date on how you are doing.still in prayers
Nicely done, Jeff !
Thin guitar pick works great for specific area scraper.
Amazingly, I don't have any!
And the dog treed the chicken but the chicken didn't care. Prayers and HEAL! GBWYou 2!
What are your plans for that truck? For Sale? I have to say I admire your random scraper tools 🧰
Personally I use Credit cards they work amazing for scrapping. And it prevents wife from buying useless stuff. 😁
Thanks for the video I hope you are doing well. I would have sanded it then painted it white again
thanks for the video Jeff, drivers side cleaned up pretty good, Truck is coming along good have ya sold it yet? take care and see ya on the next one.
Yeah you need to go down to Napa and get you what they call it an eraser wheel and put it on your drill it will take care of that decal on the truck for you
Use eucalyptus oil to remove all glues and gums from decals .. doesn't affect paint finishes and not volatile like acetone
Maybe a plastic blade would work better. Great video thank's

I see that there is a box of sort added to the back of the truck. Are you going to show a video on that, or tell us about it?
2 more episodes!
paint removal gun? Cook them off?
Hi Jeff how's weather up there.
Those finger nails must be sharp cause they work better than the razor.
Nice job Jeff that door looks twoderful.

Don't mind at all. Quite the interesting tidbit.
The bloody rooster finally makes an appearance and doesn't have anything to say. 😆

Would this truck be for sale?
