I agree that Staley needs to go. I've been annoyed by his endless cliches and tired commentaries after every Chargers loss. Each loss is followed by the same lame comments about needing to do better. When is doing better going to be evident? And if they're not showing much improvement, who is to blame? Now he gets offended by questioning about whether he might transfer the defensive coordination to someone else and tries to shift responsibility for the loss to everyone and no one while claiming he's ultimately the one who must be held accountable. Even though various players made mistakes, such as dropped passes that were egregious, I attribute this mostly to a culture that Staley has created. The pattern of losses that could have easily been a win is beyond tiresome. Time for change at the top.

I am a Green Bay Packers fan and minority owner…3 shares!!! I will not argue with your internal politics, pile on or denigrate the Bolts, but I will watch and set the record straight as to comments about the greatest franchise in the history of the game.
    1) the 2023 Packers are NOT a “bad” team. They are a very young team (youngest in the league) and are still learning how to win. There is a lot of talent but it’s raw, and the young receivers and tight ends are starting to gel. All teams are ALWAYS getting better or worse.
    2) all franchise’s glory or downfalls come from the top. I lived in SoCal, I’ve seen your pain, the Chargers ownership is not great. The family is cheap.
    3) Herbert is a stud, he is very fun to watch. Good luck to Bosa.

They should have promoted the special teams coach, Fickin, to HC. Kellen stays as OC and the DC calls the def. It worked for the Ravens(not the mid season replacement part) as ST coach and the Faders and the recent Faders team is playing very hard under the LB coach. Kellen Moore has done nothing big to be promoted to coach. They might as well keep Staley if they think about promoting Moore.

@@cheaton75 - good points - I don't blame JH for that and that pass to QJ was a beauty, but generally the whole offense seems sorta disjointed to me at these end-of-game scenarios. teams seem to be rushing/blitzing hard and we have no answers for it - short passing game to the flats (with speed receiver/back) might be an answer - many times JH doesn't have the time for a longer pass or going through a progression, then when he does, we get a drop by QJ - and I think that one would probably have gone to the house.... typical Charger disappointment and pain.

As much as losing sucks, it is time to punt on this season. We are bad football team right now and even if we string together some wins, we at best miss the playoffs and draft in the middle/late teens. Only reason I say keep Staley is because it’s clear the team has turned on him and will probably continue this trend. then we get Herbie his Gates in Brock Bowers, and we get an actual HC next year

F the Chargers. I grew up in SD and loved the team for decades. The number of times this idiotic franchise let us down with stupid decisions pushed me in the opposite direction. Word of caution to anyone: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ROOTING FOR THIS STUPID TEAM. You will regret it. ELI WAS RIGHT. Hiring Norv Turner was the last straw for me and never looked back. They will waste Herbert’s career. I wish he went somewhere else and I hope you do too.

As a proud supporter of bolt gang to hear Staley say that he “doesn’t care about the fans opinions” when there aren’t many bolt fans coming to support as it is just shows why we don’t have many believers. Who would wanna constantly support an organization just to get hurt over and over by incompetent coaches and a gm whose over stayed their welcome? I’ll always be a diehard bolt fan but at the same time I’ll always be very guarded until we can actually have faith to make deep consistent playoff runs especially with a talented roster like this #boltup #firestaley

Staley makes his players worse with his “intellectual style” of football that only confuses the shit out of his entire defense. Players want to play not worry about playing match coverage when you have terrible coverage pieces. Also, wtf is with the preparedness of the staff. How about terrible cleats, no visors for the sun. Ekeler is a shell of himself, he’s running in mud. Fire the bum please!!

To borrow the words of soccer coach Carlos Ancelotti: You don't make players fit your scheme, you scheme to fit your players, to do what they do best. If the players are not getting Staley schemes, his scheme needs to go. Or else he will go. If they're trying to fix the same problems every week, the scheme is wrong and needs to change to an equation the players can solve on the field, even when the coach isn't there to explain it to them.

I don't like Staley either but that game was not his fault. Keenan dropped TWO TD passes. They were perfect throws from Herbert. Ekeler had a costly fumbled on the 1 yard line. Even if we didn't get the TD we still could've tied it with a FG. The game is on the offense just as much as it's on the defense

I've been a lukewarm Staley "fan" since his hire, but when I found out that in the years prior to his hiring the Chargers had a top 10(?) defense and since he's arrived they've been one of the worst in the league I've done a 180.

Brandon Staley is delusional. Playing "good" defense in a few games every season is not the definition of 'playing good defense'. The team has not been consistent enough on defense to be considered a good defense

Fire Telesco too. He hired Staley, made multiple bad draft choices and there needs to be someone else making decisions. Drafting Quentin Johnson in the first round is a prime example of Telesco's failure in evaluating draft picks. QJ had a well deserved reputation in college for dropping passes that hit him in the hands. Telesco knew or should have known about his past multiple drops but disregarded this critical fact and wasted a first round pick. Time for Telesco to go.

He has them back because he feels they can't cover well. It's suppose to give a cushion to rally tackle. However you can't do that every play every game. That's simply ridiculous, and easy to beat

@DavidDroegemeier - Wow, this is about the most animated and angry I have ever seen you. I was not able to watch the game due to my region, but always watch the recorded condensed version. I agree wholeheartedly with you. And so disappointed in Q. I picked him up and put him on my bench hoping this would be another incremental step better in performance. That drop was terrible. Colin Cowherd's last nite mentioned he doesn't play with any urgency, and has kind of sloppy routes (I'm paraphrasing). I thoght he kind of looked like Larry Fitzgerald the previous game, but this one was terrible.
