Motor home and mobile home parks should provide a centralized storm shelter since they are so dangerous to ride out a storm in. One that the entire park could fit into and people could stay in when warnings/watches are issued. I'm glad they made it out alive.

@lhead7226...I agree. My mother and step father lived in a mobile home on Lake Brownwood, Texas after they both retired. The neighborhood they lived in had one of those shelters. Their HOA's annual fees covered the cost of the shelter, so it can be done.
Or you could choose not to live in a trailer in tornado Alley.

This is so heartbreaking. I’m so thankful the man has his little buddy. I’m grateful so many people survived. It’s beyond miraculous so many survived so much destruction.
It's not miraculous. It's meteorological warnings. It was a person in a truck telling them to get to safety, not effing god. Your ignorance is the shame of all. God bless the owner of the RV park. He saved lives, last night. I hope the woman finds her cat. My husband and I were away from home once; when a tornado passed through; and I was frantic about my two cats. ( Everything was fine.)

That trailer park images from drone were unbelievable. Those trailers and mobile homes looked like they had been picked up and roller several times and then smashed to the earth. So glad no one died during the dark hours of night.
And you know what's a real kicker - FEMA will give to a trailer to live in !

I remember being scared out of my mind last night of the tornado (which I predicted to be an EF3-EF4 due to the damage done) was right north of my town. Turns out, luckily, it passed through the northern area of our county (we’re southern).
My heart and prayers goes out to everyone and condolence to the families that have lost their love ones. I pray God will comfort their hearts and a speedy recovery for those that have been injured. I pray that they will get the necessary assistance to help rebuild their lives and homes

Must have been a direct hit and in direct path, they made good choices at the opportune time, glad they survived, prayers for all here.
Time to build a solid concrete home. Do not use lumber or woods anymore to counter the tornado
I’ve been saying the same thing! Reinforced concrete block with rebar, or ICF. You have all these people that say, “my home is brick,” that’s not good to do anything structurally.

You must be referring to an individual homeowner or do you suggest we reconvert all homes in Tornado Alley which of course is impractical from so many standpoints, and experts will tell you the strongest tornados will even destroy your reenforced concrete structure.

I own a 2024 Coleman 17b RV.
I noticed the Coleman camper still standing. It’s made the old way as opposed to composite materials.
So much destruction from tornadoes this year. It’s completely insane. If I lived in tornado alley I would be expecting one to tear throw my town at any point.

I am praying people learn about climate science. Maybe we need to elect smarter people with a STEM background. Until greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are reduced the storms are just going to keep getting stronger and more numerous.

Indeed, last time there was a tornado warning in the area, it was just an EF1. Now, EF3-4 seem a lot more common.
