Very compelling, well-written, and thought-out essay. Your thoughts, history, and background of these characters show excellent mastery of the genre. I couldn't agree more with Luke being that person, with Anakin and Obi-Wan coming in behind. Your mastery of this subject and the details of each character made the selection very difficult, as if I were a jurist determining the fate of a person. The essay was so well thought out that it transformed what I assumed would be an easy choice into a difficult one, due to the surprising amount of detailed information. The list could go one with even "dark" jedi, such as Doku and Baylin who both knew the Jedi order was headed for it failure. Great job, probably the best and hardest video you made. Regards, Tony
Also, Star Wars lab one other thing I finally found out in Star Wars Canon that Anakin Skywalker, connection and potential in the force was never diminished, nor affected when he lost his right arm to count Dooku or the age he was found, and trained in fact, we all noticed in Star Wars Canon that if Anakin Skywalker never turned to the dark side and became dark Vader. He would have reached his full potential fulfilled, the prophecy of the chosen one destined to bring to the force. And the strongest, most powerful character ever of all time in the history of Star Wars and you know this my friend👍
You should add legend Luke to this list he had students fall to the dark side but still he didn’t give up and he even evolved the Jedi order from the prequel counter part. He actually have a life that Anakin would wanted became grandmaster of the new Jedi order even having a family of his own surpassing his father becoming the greatest Jedi ever. Sure in legends his life wasn’t perfect but at least he didn’t lose faith.
A very compelling and well written argument. Something that I'd like to point out about all 3 is that while Yoda did have the most wisdom and experience, I think he also had the most fear because of all the wars and disasters that will inevitably happen over 900 years. Also, dude was waaaaaay too set in his ways. Meanwhile the big difference, I think, between Luke and Obi-Wan when it comes their apprentices is that Obi-Wan had the Jedi Order to fall back on for help if and when he needed it. He was never truly alone when training Anakin. Luke, on the other hand, was entirely alone. There was no one baring the occasional Force Ghost that he could go to for advice. There was no one else to watch over his apprentices whenever he had to go off on some dangerous mission that none of them were ready for.

With the New Jedi Order film, we’ll see Rey as a full fledged Jedi Grandmaster, with the film being set a whole 15 years after TROS. 15 years is longer than Anakin Skywalker was a Jedi. I can’t wait to see Rey after having decades to grow in her power and wisdom. She’ll definitely be a much better contender for this question, in years to come.
It is more important to be a good human being than to be a good Jedi. Obi-Wan was a bad mentor and he was the one who maimed Anakin and left him to burn, setting the seal on his fate and the galaxy's (right when his wife was bringing him back to the Light). It was the Jedi thing to do, not the good thing to do. Luke refused to fight Vader and the Emperor: it was not the Jedi thing to do, it was the good thing to do. Luke chose compassion, not judgement. As for Luke having pushed his nephew to the Dark Side, we only know of one moment of panic which he had. When Luke went into exile, he did not "leave the galaxy in darkness", he wanted the Jedi Order to die. The first thing he taught Rey was that the Force does not belong to the Jedi. Ahsoka and Grogu also chose not to be Jedi. Yet they are good people, helping wherever they can with their powers. The question ought not to be who the greatest Jedi is, but who the greatest Force user is.
Star Wars lab everything we know in Star Wars Canon is that the force has a will of its own? It works in mysterious ways it exist everywhere in all of Star Wars. It gave life to. Shimi Skywalker’s womb created by the midichlorians themselves, and what we know and called Anakin Skywalker was born the prophesied chosen one destined to bring balance to the force so yes, real true creator father of Anakin Skywalker is the force itself in Star Wars canon also Anakin Skywalker was never meant to be Jedi or Sith but something even much more a force wielder/force user OK
Anakin was a hero and perhaps the most effective Jedi on the battlefield, but that is just one piece to the puzzle. He was always hindered by his need for victory.
You guys are going to hate me. But I believe It's Rey. No exile. Stayed on the task at hand. She finished the job. We'll see what Rey does in her new order how she handles a student who turns on her and if she remains in the light her whole career also. If Rey doesn't go into exile, doesn't fail students, and she handles failures and loyalties to the Jedi. If she fits all those categories. She'll seal the title of being the G.O.A.T.
i cant believe you just said luke has a bigger shadow on his legacy than obi wan did, that’s delusional brotha and i love the sequels but obi wans shadow of training anakin and teaching him everything he knew just for him to turn to the dark side and become one of the most powerful sith lords of all time is a way bigger shadow than what luke did, i feel like luke was better at teaching and connecting than obi wan in the sense that ben didn’t hate training under luke and he never held a grudge for how luke treated him, at least that’s what i think, (until after he turned to the darkside)when compared to obi wan who anakin has always held a grudge against because he always felt like he was being held back by obi wan AND the jedi council (side note, anakin really didn’t like obi wan while he was still very firm in the light side, that’s one of the biggest differences in my mind)
also put some respec on lukes name, obi wan didn’t blow up a death star as a teenager and yoda couldn’t have beaten vader, and last time i checked luke DID that💅
I was referring to how each of them handled losing their apprentices. Obi-Wan remained dedicated to the Jedi, Luke gave up on himself… and I did acknowledge that Luke’s accomplishments far surpass Obi-Wan’s…
@@StarWarsLab i don’t think it’s necessarily fair to say obi wan never stopped dedicating himself to the jedi if he cut himself off from the force for 10 years, just like luke did, obi wan never stopped dedicating himself to luke by watching over him but would he still be a jedi without having the force? i don’t think so but that’s just me, i see where you are coming from but obi wan did the exact same thing luke did except when luke came back he did a force ability that was so powerful it killed him
