I have 4 kinds of pollen traps and the bottom mount ones are the way to go. I have other bottom mount traps that I am going to renovate into being like my sundance one. The plywood keeps the pollen clean, the many bee escapes keep the hive happy and the easy open, easy close entrance makes it so much easier to just keep the trap in place, my others have drawers that get propolized so I can not slide them open and the drones can't get out without the multiple escapes at the front. the drawer is also well designed. The screen drawers are way better than the front mounted plastic drawers. It was worth the money to buy one but now I plan to just take the measurements and build more. They are just such an excellent pollen trap, I like them, the bees like them most and the customers like that pollen most too, no legs in those traps!

Strong hives are also certainly key, as you said

Great video. Love the pollen trap. I'm hoping to get a hive or two next year.

If you truly can afford - go with two! better chances, and plus then see a difference in them!
