This will be the first video of at least a few on trapping pollen. as always, if you have any questions for me leave them in the comments. Thanks for watching!
Pollen traps are great tools I used 1 on my strong colony early on so that they wouldn't become pollen bound. Most common words of a beekeeper, "crazy bees, stupid smoker and where is my hive tool." I seen a video that took one of those round dehydrators that blows the air down with a thin cloth over the trays to dry it. Ty for sharing, Blessed Days...
I have a different style trap to use but it’s been raining here and supposed to all week. Hopefully it’ll dry up enough soon to collect some fall pollen! Thank you Gus!
I don’t make enough to need to market it. When I have any it sells quickly. I would like to get into producing it more, consistently. If I did I would be targeting chefs and the allergies crowd.
Gus, do you ever have a dearth during the summer? It seems like you have so many different types of nectar producing plants in your area that you don’t have a dearth. Good video and I’m looking forward to meet you at Hive Life, I attended both of previous and plan on making the 3rd.
I've never tried pollen trapping but would like to try next year. I run 4 way pallets. Is there a good trap that works with pallets? Or would I be better off setting up a yard with single bottom boards?
This is cool. Looks way more affordable than $100 Sundance traps. As nice as those are it would take a lot of pollen to pay them off. What size are the holes in that mesh?
Thanks for another great video Gus.

I’m anxious to learn everything I can on pollen trapping, looking forward to this series. Thanks Gus!
Hoping you have time to do more live chats soon, yours are very informative!
Thanks, Gus. I look forward to the pollen processing video. I've been curious about that.

Great video, I probably need to trap some to add to pollen sub patties, but I'll have to build one first.
🤣 Where’s I put that hive tool? …..Words I say on almost every trip to the yard.
Been wanting to try some myself. Time constraints lol
In line with your honey sales video, who do you market the pollen towards?

Yes there are areas around Memphis that have a summer dearth. I pick good locations and avoid that.

Sundance makes traps for use with pallets, side drawer.
