    If you do multiple sessions you will eventually have the red mushroom blocks reach the tnt dropper in which case it will blow itself up. To fix this either clear out the red mushroom line heading into the blast chamber before each session, or move the tnt dropper 2 blocks higher

    Thanks for the tutorial, sir Lime. I like that you put the operating instructions up front. Not everyone thinks about that element.
    Since you used a replay camera for the whole build, perhaps consider using some of the Vanilla Tweaks resource packs to add visuals for hopper, dropper, and observer directions, and sticky piston coloring? Could make it just a little easier to follow while paused.

    For anyone who doesn't whant to use TNT duping to get rid of the red mushroom blocks, you can send your blocks stream into the blast chamber made by ilmango, because it is the most efficient one with around 240 blocks broken with a single TNT.
    Notice that this blast chamber can also works with a duper, but in that case I don't recommand because it's quite long to build (except if you want to get it of the constant explosions noises).
    On an another note, slicedlime, you tutorials are really awesome, hope you can find time to make more of these!

    • @slicedlime
      @slicedlime  2 года назад +2

      Yeah - or you could just compact them all into another cube and break them by hand.

    • @majorkool
      @majorkool 2 года назад

      @@slicedlime True, but you would lose the objective of it being the more automatic possible.

    • @TheRealWormbo
      @TheRealWormbo 2 года назад +1

      @@majorkool The farm stops anyway when the stem block storage is full. Since you get exactly one red block for every 4 stem blocks, you could just extend the stem block storage with a layer for the red blocks.
      Also, I like the blast chamber idea, although I'd recommend the "smart" one by CubicMetre, as it can't blow itself up when you make a mistake while building or operating it. (ilmango's design is not flawed as such, just much easier easy to break through user error, as multiple Hermits demonstrated over the last years.)
      Regardless which design you decide to use, it will take up more space, but in exchange use vastly fewer TNT. And if you can figure out the connection, you can reuse the same blast chamber for things like a cobblestone/basalt generator and e.g. any variation of tree farm that produces a block stream.

    There are some more problems, at 17:50, should count 13 but not 12, or just 12 block away from the podzol, not on top. Otherwise, it will be one block short and it will break the repeater. 12 will work at first, as there is one outer layer of red mushroom block at first, that is missing the bottom block. Once removed it, it will start to break the repeater. So just count 13 and break the first red mushroom block at first run.
    The mushroom grow time is random, and sometimes it grows too fast that the red mushroom block reach the end of the blast chamber and the top block start to push sideway. You can see this problem at the video 0:37. There will be a line of red mushroom block at the top, and when it reach 12, the farm will be stuck. It will still try to use the bone meal to grow, but there is a top block that suck there, and it will use up all your bone meal to do nothing. I added some redstone to feed that line of red mushroom block back to the blast chamber, then the farm is working nicely.
    Hope to add some update for this problem, as I can't put my design in the comment.

    Works great. Only issue I've had so far, is running semi-afk single player, when the stem storage fills up, the feeding line of stems breaks the repeater right where the stems turn into the storage area. Not the biggest deal, but took me a minute to figure out what had broken when it wasn't working the next run.

    • @slicedlime
      @slicedlime  Год назад

      Huh, that’s odd - the whole thing was supposed to be on push limit distance to prevent that, but I might have miscalculated the distance for that line or something similar.

    Dose this still work. I've been having some problems. The top red mushroom block doesn't move witch means the next mushroom wont grow since their is not enough space above it. It will work again if i remove a block in front of the observer. Also recently the podsoil block gets moved down and a mushroom stem block is in its place. Is there an update that have made that this wont work or have i done something wrong.

    Great tutorial but on some parts the redstone is pointlessly complicated. The tnt duper redstone could have been easily replaced with simple redstone clock powering the piston on the duper. My farm kept clogging with the design from the video because it fired tnt way too slowly.

  • @MrSpiffyBTW
    @MrSpiffyBTW 2 года назад

    i seem to be having a problem where sometimes the red mushroom blocks grow too fast and it covers the hole where the tnt drops down, so the tnt just blows up the dispenser it came from and the solid block above the closest sticky piston behind it. anyone else come across that issue, and if so, any solutions?

    • @MrSpiffyBTW
      @MrSpiffyBTW 2 года назад

      actually nevermind, to fix it i moved everything past the observer on the obsidian wall up by one block (including the dispenser) and increased the height of the obsidian wall, so now even if the tnt spot gets obstructed, it wont blow up any redstone

      Mushroom stem blocks, like logs, are an interesting dual-use decorative block. You can use them for their white version or for their beige "spongy" version. Especially content creators and ambitious builders tend to design their builds in Creative and then need to figure out how to obtain all those somewhat "niche" blocks they picked.
