(1/4) I’ve read your comment pala sa tip sa product development kaso nawala siya :( ‘di ko sure kung dinelete ni RUclips kasi medyo mahaba reply ko 😂 anyway, wala po kaming subject na specifically called “product development” pero nag-o-overlap subjects namin tackling food innovation, improvement and product development. Pinaka ma-tip ko dito is research. Maliban sa pag-alam ng propeties ng food to improve its sensory qualities, maganda din na alamin nutritional content nito (if isa to sa aim mo for the benefit of consumers, as well as marketing minsan).
Example, yung ube-keso pandesal.
(3/4) If formulating/creating a new product naman from scratch, I suggest na i-research din ang underrated and common foods na pwedeng gawin pa into new product/s. Na-develop siya into new product - dried mango. Namangha ako sa FT nang dahil sa electives namin which is Food Processing. Sa Isang buong sem marami talaga akong natutunan. Maganda ang FT specially for me na Agribusiness grad na hilig mag innovate ng food and drink products. Nag joke nga yung FT Prof namin na tumatak sa isipan ko na, You don't need a bomb to destruct/harm *physically the people only you need to do is put poison on their food by manipulating the ingredients/food prep and etc.
Hahaha I agree with your prof, kaya din mas maganda na maliban sa acads ay natuturo din ang pagpapahalaga sa trabaho at sa tao dahil napakadaling manipulahin ng mga gawa, in order to suceed, pero yun nga lang, may mga mapapahamak. Thank you so much for appreciating FT. I hope you’re doing well. Stay safe! ❤️
Ma'am ASK KO LANG PO 💖🥺 ⬇⬇ Gusto ko kasi mag business. Pero small business (pop up or kiosk type business) lang muna. Theyre very experimental and nag wawonder ako if safe kaya sa tummy yun. THANK YOU in advance sa sagot :) !!!
Hi Ma'am Sarahlyn 😊 Yes po, I highly recommend po na mag-consult sa LISENCED Food Technologist po before starting a food business since sila po ang nakakaalam ng food laws and regulations, food safety and food chemistry(para sa mga timpla) po. Hope this helps po 😄

Parang wala kasi akong makitang BSFT na pinakamalapit samin bacgelor of science in Food engineer lang po nakita ko TIA ate😘
Hi! Sorry now nalang uli ako nakapag open. Btw, thanks for your comment 🤍 Honestly speaking, vague pa ang difference ng Food Technology sa Food Engineering since nata-tackle ng both ang subject ng isa’t isa, so I think, as of now, lalo kung Philippine setting, walang major difference pa silang dalawa 😊 hope this helps 🤍
Hello I need an advice. I recently passed in UPCAT but the course where I have got in was food technology. Honestly, my dream course was medical technology but given this opportunity to study for free and in a prestigous university, I am now confused whether I should pursue foodtech or still go on with medtech. I am planning to use either of the courses as my pre med and so, for you guys, which of the two would be my better option?
Question is, would food technology still be a good pre med? Does it still tackle human anatomy, physiology, and all the necessary things in proper med?
Hi! Sorry for the late reply. Congrats on passing the UPCAT 😊 According to my former classmate, who is currently attending med school (all credits goes to her for this answer), BSFT as you pre-med course, has its advantage since we have subjects such as nutrition and biochem. Tho, some med schools require graduates of BSFT to take extra subjects; but this actually depends on the school’s requirements that which you can check on their website :)) Med tech can be more advantageous since this course can experience more hospital related works and learn more subjects that is required in some med schools :))
Hiiii! Thanks for this info! Salamat sa pag-share nitong info about BSIT major in Food Technology ❤️
Napunta ako dito kasi nalilito pa akp about sa Food Tech and nasa isip ko lang is more experiementing ito kya challenging ito saakin kasi I hate experimenting hehhee
Hi Monica!
Hi! Sorry for the late reply. I can assure you that cooking skill is not a basis during assessments :)) more on the science of cooking ang BSFT, not cooking itself naman :)) Most experiments naman ay by the book, so may manual na binibigay or finofollow :)) conversion lang siguro and yung pagbasa ng lab equipment ang mahalaga, na ituturo din naman 😊 I think hindi naman lahat hectic.

Im currently taking up this course, 2nd year college at Bicol University and can i ask po if you have pdf's related this course po? Thank you in advance.
Nun student ako I pronounce HACCP as HASAP also.

Nakalagay kasi sa career opportunities ay food attendant at different types of manager, pero sa BSFT more on sa process involved kaya I think if more on management, BIT in FT. Kung hotel and kitchen naman, I think mas okay ang BS HRM. Hope this helps 😊

Hi! If examples ng modified foods, I found a link online for plant foods here ( www.isaaa.org/resources/publications/pocketk/2/default.asp ) 😊 sinearch ko lang ito kay Google hihi pwede mo din lagay na Genetically Modified Foods(GMO) or Genetically Engineered(GE) foods then may lalabas na mga link. Sa animal foods, pet foods ba ito or human food made of animal such as chicken, beef or pork ba? :3 sa foods naman na ginamitan ng microbes in Biotech, bread and beer ginagamitan ng yeast (yellow biotechnology ang tawag).
Stay safe! ❤️
good day po... pwede po ba magpa gawa sa inyo ng marinade ng chicken at burger mix... salamat po..
Ma'am ASK KO LANG PO 💖🥺 ⬇⬇
Gusto ko kasi mag business. Pero small business (pop up or kiosk type business) lang muna. Theyre very experimental and nag wawonder ako if safe kaya sa tummy yun. THANK YOU in advance sa sagot :) !!!
Hi Ma'am Sarahlyn 😊 Yes po, I highly recommend po na mag-consult sa LISENCED Food Technologist po before starting a food business since sila po ang nakakaalam ng food laws and regulations, food safety and food chemistry(para sa mga timpla) po. Hope this helps po 😄

May mga Lab po ba na mag ga-guide for business na tulad ng food in a jar/can or any type ng food package.

Ohhh I see. Siguro yun din difference kaya eversince, 4 years talaga sa UST ang BSFT kasi given na agad yung subjects namin at parang overload nadin labas ng units namin. Thanks for sharing this info! 💖

Ate ask ko lang po anong pinagkaiba ng Bachelor of science in food engineering sa BSFT??
Parang wala kasi akong makitang BSFT na pinakamalapit samin
bacgelor of science in Food engineer lang po nakita ko
TIA ate😘
Hi! Sorry now nalang uli ako nakapag open. Btw, thanks for your comment 🤍
Honestly speaking, vague pa ang difference ng Food Technology sa Food Engineering since nata-tackle ng both ang subject ng isa’t isa, so I think, as of now, lalo kung Philippine setting, walang major difference pa silang dalawa 😊 hope this helps 🤍
I do not have any scholarship grants for medtech and that is why everything seems harder
Question is, would food technology still be a good pre med? Does it still tackle human anatomy, physiology, and all the necessary things in proper med?
up !
Following this comment, i also don't know if its a good pre-med or not
Hi! Sorry for the late reply. Congrats on passing the UPCAT 😊
According to my former classmate, who is currently attending med school (all credits goes to her for this answer), BSFT as you pre-med course, has its advantage since we have subjects such as nutrition and biochem. Tho, some med schools require graduates of BSFT to take extra subjects; but this actually depends on the school’s requirements that which you can check on their website :))
Med tech can be more advantageous since this course can experience more hospital related works and learn more subjects that is required in some med schools :))
Na inspired akoooo, gusto ko na mag food tech to my dream school UST
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️ I hope you are doing well. Stay safe! 😊

Hiiii! Thanks for this info! Salamat sa pag-share nitong info about BSIT major in Food Technology ❤️
Napunta ako dito kasi nalilito pa akp about sa Food Tech and nasa isip ko lang is more experiementing ito kya challenging ito saakin kasi I hate experimenting hehhee
Hi Monica!
Yehey, finally Thank youuu ate!!💙💙💙
Yeeey 😍 I hope nakatulong 😊❤️ God bless 💕
Hello po! Is BS Food Technology and BS Food Science and Technology different? If yes po, in what way po kaya?
graduating student here from UST-SHS and currently in a predicament kung itutuloy ko ba ang BSFT as my priority course 😣 hindi ko kasi gamay magluto, maski maghiwa nang magaling. i need reassurance na hindi siya nagmamatter masyado and hindi rin dun magbabase ang mga assessment 😭
may tips rin po ba kayo na fundamental for laboratory assessments sa FT? for example po, basic conversion of measurements? also, hectic po ba lagi during laboratory sessions or minsan slow-paced naman siya?
Hi! Sorry for the late reply. I can assure you that cooking skill is not a basis during assessments :)) more on the science of cooking ang BSFT, not cooking itself naman :))
Hope this helps 💖

Hi! Nakalagay kasi sa career opportunities ay food attendant at different types of manager, pero sa BSFT more on sa process involved kaya I think if more on management, BIT in FT. Kung hotel and kitchen naman, I think mas okay ang BS HRM. Hope this helps 😊

Medyo magastos siya dahil need bumili ng mga materials/ingredients needed for experiment/s pero, mostlikely, yung mga lab equipment at glasswares, provided naman ng school :)) Sa’min noon, kapag nakabasag lang kami, tsaka namin papalitan, kaya minsan dun din kami talaga napapagastos hihi Sa ibang subjects naman, wala naman masyado gastos maliban sa mga ipapa-photocopy or mga ipapa-print na projects ganun :3 pero since online classes ngayon, halos softcopies naman ang needed kaya ‘di masyado magastos, and sa lab, ‘di ko sure kung paano ang set up sa online classes but I hope this helps 😊
