I've done the same thing with a wire wheel and lots of man hours, the muratic acid is a nice trick, just be careful not to pour it out on asphalt or concrete.
No Just no. Heating up the metal to cherry red then quench it in oil is going to potentially leave is in a harden/brittle state. Also the carbon is not going to prevent rust for very long if at all. Removing the rust and panting it would work so much better and longer.
Problem you have there is you have a block of wood that you attach it to wich will hold water and moisture under the bracket not to mention the metal under the wood block😂😂😂🙂👍
You're actually blueing the steel, embedding oil into the pores of the metal making it resistant to moisture. However what happened to that piece is caused by the battery acid that seeps onto it through capillary action and the blueing will have no effect on that acid. Best thing to do is to check under the hood from time-to-time and keep things clean in there. Battery look wet or greasy on top? Clean it and check again very soon, it may need to be replaced.
I dont have a pool so that acid is not in the equation, don't have a blow torch cuz who tf does, and I don't have motor oil. Does someone have a real world solution?
I like how it just feels like a beater car until you show a its a Lamborghini 😂
Rust proof part secure it back on with rusty bolt
I really liked the tip until the "pull it out joke". That will seem funny until you start paying child support.
