Mr. Paulides stories are captivating! I am awestruck by them. He made me recall a dream I had decades ago as a teen. Oddly enough I had truly taken a walk to the stream in reality. There is this place I went to in the dream. I went for a walk arriving at this stream not far from the house we lived at, (Northern,CA) there was a few bolders and one very big one. I sat on the smaller bolder by the stream looking around at all the leaves & trees, flowing stream then looked at the large bolder across from me. All of a sudden the bolder turned this misty lavender/purple color with the bolder edges still showing, like a frame, I stood up & walked over to the strange mist in the bolder & out of curiosity stepped through it. When I got on the other side, I looked around, then up & noticed the sky wasn't the sky but it had a huge clear dome covering everything & was like a sky. Everything around me was foliage but a different ecosystem/atmosphere. It was a different place! Not a forrest & not where I just was sitting on that bolder. The dream ended. To this day since I've heard Paulides stories on bolders & missing people I've wanted to go back to that stream by the house. I had written a poem about the dream...so I thought. When I quickly went to find it thinking the poem was in with the others typed up for a publisher it wasn't there! Why not I thought. So I looked through all my originals & found the typed version. No wonder it wasn't in with the poems. It was a description of the dream! It is called, "The Misty Opening.

Was it a mountain lion or an entity? Don't know, but I've never felt such paralyzing fear as if being hunted.
