- The M46 Patton in War Thunder is one of the most underrated tanks in the game. For what is a EXTREMELY fast and well armoured medium tank this thing can pack a punch at anything that gets thrown at it!
The 90mm cannon is capable of firing the infamous M82 APHE round which is a one shot for most tanks that are arrogant enough to give their side and for heavier vehicles it has a HEAT-FS round that can deal with IS-3's and even the mighty IS-6!
I've always wanted to get a Nuke with the M46 and today I ventured to do just that! The Nuke in War Thunder is extremely difficult to get and I've always had bad luck with this tank in getting one!
Time to make that change! :)

I always use the chicken coop cage armor on the M46 and I'm definitely not biased toward it because it somehow bounced an IS-2 122mm one time.

Chicken Run has to be my favorite Aardman film. It's just the great escape, but with animals.
High repair costs/ low SL rewards on tanks discourages aggression.
you don't have to play the higher tiers.. I got 56M SL's and I don't even know how I got them.. not as good as odd and never had a premium account and I play AB coz I'm bad at finding the enemy and only been playing for 4 yrs+ but I did open the US, USSR, GB, GER, italy, france and japan and just recently israel.. I got ger open upto 11.0 and the US, USSR opened atleast upto 8.0 BR and the rest atleast upto 5.0.. I use a backup when the tank I use has a pricey repair cost..
@@userjlj Backups are the way. Two spawns for a single repair cost.
This tank costs 5k to repair, you can get like 15k just driving BT-5's and stuff around for one match in low tier if you had to, and fund 3 whole missions where you died instantly in this and accomplished nothing (which seems unlikely). Probably more like 6 or 7 matches in reality where you accomplish SOMETHING to help pay back down.

I honestly used to mock the M46, especially with the coop on it thinking that it just looked ridiculous and couldn’t bounce anything. After the wire ate a couple of shells from a G6 and an atgm from a Marder whilst the shell one shot Russian and German heavies (when shooting at the proper places) I haven’t mocked it since.
Yeah HE slingers are prime targets for the M46
Thank you for mentioning the machine gun firing at the beginning of matches. It's so stupid. I get if you want to check your guns by firing a burst or two at spawn but people just over do it. If I have a light tank I just look for the tracers from the enemy side and scout call of them.

When the Puma IFV was added I just got my M46 and M48 pattons, APHE worked so well on them. Based APHE

Can I just say something about the A2D real quick?
So, I had this collection of tiny planes when I was a little kid. They came in these flat cards, you'd punch out the pieces and put them together. I remember distinctly, there was this one really dumb looking one that I knew couldn't possibly be real, even my little kid mind.
It was stubby, the nose was a weird shape, the tail structure was all wrong, and the proportions were just... off, like all over the thing. It was only about two decades later, when I saw it as a premium in War Thunder, that I learned it was indeed real, and all those memories came flooding back in.

My fav tank by far. The grills are very useful against early ATGMs and sometimes HEAT or HEAT-FS at a certain angle

I have this list of tanks I really want a nuke with (UDES 33, M26E1, Rooikat 105, Type 75 SPH, and the Tiger II H.), and the M46 is one there now. Trying with the UDES is very, VERY hard.

You should do a video where you try to get as much silver lions as you possibly can. All the over powered tanks. And use of not all. Then a bunch of boosters. Just to see what you can do

My favourite tank in the game. I've played as it many hundreds of times. But I STILL can't convince myself that the turret cage is an advantage not a hindrance!
I played a few games with it and then uninstalled it.. I can’t imagine the tank is much lighter without it, but the placebo makes me feel better lol
It saved me from a Type 75 SPH not once but TWICE on Rhine. I've had it on ever since hoping it happens again! Haha
Not to mention good old times, when you could've got an overpressure on it for some odd reason.

True OG's remember when it got its HEAT shell (not HEAT-FS, used to be just a straight HEAT shell) and was still 6.7. This plus its Premium counterpart was an insane 6.7 lineup. Add in a couple P-47s and this is why I say that USA has the best lineups tier for tier since always.

I love the m46 tiger, it has more HP from what I remember but it's so fast I play it like a light tank, infact, I often keep up with or out run light tanks on the reg
The "Tiger" is just a specific unit's camo and paint job, hard stats are the same. Both M46s are rather mobile for their weight and the gearing is actually pretty good for Gaijin-made so they do outrun some light tanks when offroading.

@@godgunsliberty4342 I have it as well, same 810hp for both. Technically it's worse than the tech tree version as the cage armor is unavailable.

The m47 and m48 are even better! They have the highest velocity heat shells in the game at around 1200 m/s. This is faster than almost all kinetic shells except for apfsds, and the m47 in particular has some ludicrous survivability in uptiers if you hide the lower front plate.
I'll go with M-47 because of 2 .50 cals

the m46 is such an underrated tank. its not as good at its br as the pershing or heavy pershing (not the super pershing) but because of the heat it dosent get demolished in a full uptier
And it's sneaky fast too. Almost as shifty as the Leo

@@TXpondking well it looks just like the M26 and that's a slow tank so most people assume they're the same with just a new cannon and a chicken coop
The chicken wire can actually stop the stock missle from the bmp from the front, found that one out the hard way
For the ultimate challenge you should try and get a nuke with every vehicle (aquire 2500 SP and bonus points for dropping it in games where u can)

The true chicken coop is the IS 2 mod 44. Btw please play the T80 and T28e in the USSR 2.3br, they're great fun and you have never done a video on both tanks (42nd try)

They have the rocks set up to be destroyed by the nuke like trees and buildings so you melted a hole into the void on all the nuke facing rocks

I got a nuke in a 5.3 arcade match, it ended before I could spawn it though because the air battle thing wouldn't reset. I was PISSED.

completely confused at 6:30, I see nothing until after you say 'bulldog' when you swing your camera around afterwards, and just see the top of the tiger2 - when / where the hell did you see anything to let you know 1, that they were there, and 2, enough to know what you were looking at?

I have the a2d and every time I use it I get shot down as soon as I reach the battlefield, and it doesn't matter my approach im just dead no matter what

I tend to go min 1.5 second delay on anything bigger than a 1k lb bomb otherwise I get shredded by shrapnel if I'm not going super fast

@@alphaplayzz1381 so what makes him think that others players think the spot that their at can't clean up? It all comes down to him wanting others to take risks so he can reap the rewards. My best friend is like that...he'll bitch and whine about nobody pushing while staying in the same few spots the entire match.
Yesterday I had the greatest clutch in the Tiger E, I only say cause you talk about players so afraid to die. But they had all three caps and I had been on the other side on eastern Europe, and I pushed across the B bridge killed 2 toward there spawn that were sniping and took the point then our team took A and we came back from 908 tickets left. I pushed because who cared if I died the game was lost if I didn't do anything
whats sad, is that the chicken coop is useless. it doesn't fuse HEAT rounds. It SHOULD stop HEAT rounds but it doesnt. But you can survive HESH shells.
Yeah. Over hundreds of games with it, I still haven't seen any sure-fire evidence that the cage has helped me.

I love this tank and I play it every time I hop on. The chicken coop has saved my ass more time than I can count. Plus if you’re using bushes on your actual turret, it’ll make your turret seem much larger(if in cover)and oftentimes some people will completely miss and hit the cage. Not to mention it’s excellent maneuverability.
Really wish they'd return the T20 to 5.7, or at least make the T25/M26 a 6.0 so you got a real 6.0 lineup
