    There's nothing you can do about bad luck in the opening lap, sometimes it just happens. You put in a solid effort to recover, and that was a great battle towards the end!
    And as always, your narration makes it sound even more exciting!

    I’m glad to see you had fun in this race despite some bad luck. To answer your question about LMU, once I started playing this sim I got hooked to it and it’s hard for me to go back to other sims now. Yes there are some bugs and the content is still limited, but the graphics, ffb and physics are so engaging. Participation online is also very good, I can always find plenty of people even in the evenings here in the US, at least for the rookie lobbies. I’m sure more and more people will join this sim as it develops

    After that first incident, i was thinking not again but that was an honest mistake (replay explained that), we all make them time to time, it does suck when you stuff up & hit someone, i always feel so bad if it's myself🤦‍♂.
    Great race very nice weaving between the two after the incident, clean as & so close to getting tapped in that replay😬nice battle for the top 10 unlucky (I laughed with your honesty; "I ended up cracking myself"). Another class broadcast, Chris! LMU is certainly more difficult than ACC. Especially in these fixed setup races, and no ABS. My problem with LMU is that I can't get it to configure with SimHub, so I have no dash and no rumble in my pedals. Very difficult for me to feel when the back end of the car is breaking loose.

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  7 месяцев назад

      Cheers Matt, must admit I’ve not touched any wheel, pedal or ffb settings yet… just ran with the default when it auto-configured. It certainly feels lighter to me than rf2. Not too light, but maybe it might explain why I’ve not been able to pre-empt or catch those mid-corner slides.

    This is actually funny thanks for the entertainment. Spent the whole Saturday and Sunday racing on LFM this weekend & sometimes s@#t happens. Makes me feel a whole lot better. Lost a huge amount of safety rating. Only to grind and get it back up again. Only to loose it but even worse the following day. Then I realized stop focusing on the numbers and just enjoy the racing. Too busy enjoying my Quest 3 with AC at the moment. Getting everything set up to where I wanted it to be took weeks. I will try LM soon

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah in my early days of sim racing, I used to get too stressed by ratings. In iRacing, it got to the point where I was reluctant to race if I’d got my SR up high, because I didn’t want to risk losing it. Then one day I had a bit of an epiphany about how daft it was to NOT do my hobby because a meaningless number might change. So, like you, I pay little attention to ratings now and treat each race as its own event 😃

    impressive 2:18.1 even though you took damage earlier , if not for the damage I think you would've taken Oles outright and wouldn't have had to fight him half of the race but most of all I'm glad it wasn't a dirty driver in the race proving what we've been saying that LMU has respectful drivers for the most part , it knocked ACC off the stool as my new #1 sim and I hope to see more LMU races from you , thanks for the video

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  7 месяцев назад

      Nice one, yeah I’m sure I’ll give it another try. It’d be nice to get promoted to the longer races. I think adjusting fuel helped my lap times in this one… first race I struggled to change it and ran the race with a full 80L. 35L worked much better!

  • @nock-racing
    @nock-racing 7 месяцев назад +1

    Cracking fightback there Chris, absolutely gutting that you made that mistake, but as you eluded to, it was made whilst fighting hard but fairly with another competitor. Personally I find you don't feel as bad for making a mistake when you're pushing against someone else, rather than when you're out on your own.
    Not sure I share the same view as you regarding the Lap 1 incident, yes the car made a mistake and went off track, but they could have taken a much slower speed to re-join the track more safely. The driving standards still looked a bit iffy in this one, but nothing like your first race 👍🏻

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, it was a bad mistake, for sure. You shouldn’t be getting back on the gas so much while you’re still on the grass. But at least it’s a rookie mistake, in a rookie race, so that’s why I’m a bit more forgiving. Not like it was deliberate or malicious. And hopefully it’ll be a mistake he learns from, so all good 😃 Driving standards were more than a bit iffy on lap 1, but once the more out of control guys crashed out on that opening lap, the ones remaining were far better. So I’m definitely feeling more encouraged (and keen to graduate from rookies!) Cheers

  • @Tudkno
    @Tudkno 7 месяцев назад +1

    Good race and glad you had a better time. About 9-11 clean races will get you up to silver SR and then you can try out the fixed hypercars or some entry multiclass racing. Also if you were not aware with the GTE's in fixed it defaults to race lean engine map, you can adjust it to the qualifying map and you will be quicker.

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  7 месяцев назад

      Ahhh nice. I had no idea about the engine mapping! I’ll definitely keep an eye out for that next time. I managed to lower the fuel for this one, so that definitely helped. 35L in the tank, instead of 80L for the first race. That must have helped my times.

    Ah, man. I know your pain. I've got to the point now where I'm telling Jim to "shut the f*** up and let me race" whenever he says "Stay close. He'll make a mistake." The number of times I've been the one making a mistake after he's said that. 😂
    It does look like a decent sim. My only concern at the moment is that we're being spoilt for choice and that maybe there isn't a big enough market for them all. We've still got Rennsport to come out and AC2, I believe.

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, AC2 is definitely the one I’m most excited for. Now I’ve got LMU, I’ll definitely dip in and out of it but I think I’ll still be sticking with LFM in AC and ACC as my first stop for racing.

    • @chrisrogerssimracing

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah it’s a completely different feel to ACC. The cars are quite loose, but I feel a connection with the track surface that I don’t get with ACC. ACC to me feels like I’m gliding through corners, but this feels a bit more grippy.

  • @yellowboat8773
    @yellowboat8773 7 месяцев назад +1

    I've noticed when your mid corner you don't ha e much force feedback pushing against you. Is your FB settings real low? The wheel movements look way too smooth

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah so I must admit I haven’t made any FFB settings changes. LMU detected my wheel automatically and configured it, and I’ve just left it like that so far. It does feel a bit lighter than I’m used to in rFactor 2, so maybe that’s why I’m being caught out with the oversteer slides occasionally.

  • @lewisgordon1490
    @lewisgordon1490 7 месяцев назад +1

    Yes much cleaner. Some bad driving & honest mistakes. Actually I was a bit surprised so many cars held their breaks/ hesitated B4 getting back on track to not hit a coming car😇
    9:13 if u had triples or a radar on you could have seen that coming, then hesitated B4 turning in and getting a much better drive w/o having to hesitate to not run into that guy and quite possibly passed him B4 eau rouge. You might end up running two wide there and it was on Oles to relent since he was the last one to make a mistake, but he may not have🥴

    Mate, good race but your to "nice" when your making your over takes. Start from last pos and see how fair you reach p1. Best way of learning over takes (clean, tactics but hard/consequent)

      Ahh mate, you’re not the first person to tell me that 🤣 being aggressive doesn’t come naturally to me, and the occasions I try usually end up with me crashing. Practice would definitely make perfect, but my time behind the wheel is so limited lately, I’m not really making any progress, sadly.

      @@chrisrogerssimracing I don't think it's about being aggressive but consequently in the action. Telling your opponents what your doing, showing them clear signals. Understanding your opponents driving style and weaknesses and pushing when you need too (then of course an art of aggression but rather superior). Aggressive drives are like magenta for trouble and I let them pass me, not defending for my life, rather try get them into a trap like over shoutout on a breaking point... So my advice is really to start at the end. At acc a good lobby is pommesbude
