I agree the string does appear to catch the cable slide.... not sure if it's because of lateral string oscillation, or because the cable rod is not holding the cables/slide far enough away from the string. Had I noticed it at the time, I would have set up the camera in line with the string path to figure out whats going on.

I doubt it. the flex slide would have been pulled way across by then. it's just the bouncing of the riser.
