Clara is a natural demonstrator, she's lovely. Is the river walk [SSSI] on the estate, part of the gardens? Very interesting indeed, so many different projects being covered, I feel I should sit with a pen and pencil poised so I don't miss anything! Your staff seem lovely, and it looks an excellent place to work, obviously the boss can be a pain in the arse but the surroundings would compensate for that! I'm loving this weekly format Malcolm, hope it's not too onerous for you.
Brilliant !!! - It's great to see the channel (and yourself) back up and running again. Loved this video - especially the swearies 😂😂 Seeing it is a new start/New Year - you need to get the Nursery website address added. Thanks ....... Kevin
You're reminding me of how much work I have to do. Thank god!!! I've resorted to baking and knitting these last few weeks with all my spare time ha ha!
I loved the light-colored pine the young people were working on at the end. I have been watching your videos when I get a chance. Keep up the good work!
Great video. Now I have to get off my arse and out into the yard to do some work. Today is June 19th so I'll have to watch a video each day to catch up. Thank you!
Great to see you back again, and for a full year as well. I will be calling into the nursery in spring, I've never bought a duff plant off you yet. Catch you later when your legs are straighter.
Great to see you back! I've learnt a lot from your videos over the years- I always sow seed the Malcolm way now and will never change. Would love to see you demonstrate/ talk about grafting

Hello
Jan and feb are the hardest months, but I am comforted by the stacks and stacks of plant catalogs that begin coming by mail in January lol. I do have a question..being in the high pennines I can imagine the weather is tough on pests as well as plants, but what would you say is your worst pest problem there?
Customers Tara.... Closely followed by rabbits, mice, short tailed field voles, aphids, vine weevil, botrytis (mildews and funguses generally)......We are under constant attack, my old head gardener used to say you “need to hide everything up your arse” .......it was just one of his expressions. I might repeat one or two of them in the coming weeks, but this is 2020 and he was born in 1898.... To be fair, 99.9% of customers are fantastic.....but it’s the one tosser in a thousand that nags away in the mind.
I had assumed that Tucker was for chasing off those pesky customers lol. Thanks for answering, I had wondered if fungus and bugs were an issue. Here in the southeast U.S,we can sometimes have 3 or 4 generations of insects per year...its a never ending war 🙄. Maybe thats why southerners here have such big arses...they just dont know they have a purpose lol
No, thank god! My ears can barely cope with her for 8 hours, never mind any longer! I’m not sure whether to be insulted or flattered really... though I can assure you that I’m from far more common stock!

Hi,
The compost in those bags ? Is it mixed with peat moss ?
A mix of composted bracken, coir, and bark is substituted....it’s not as good Deb, but does the job. Best wishes....Malcolm

Yeah I guess we’re an alright bunch, all as daft as each other, but that’s why it works!
