    After 3 Years of use I can firmly say, I will never regret. This is be best camera on the market by far. The only upgrade now that might worth depending on budget would be the 100 II.

    Todd, I really enjoyed your post! Totally agree with your comment about the 3:2 aspect ratios of Canon, Sony, etc. I too always wanted to crop the sides. I shot a Pentax 67 film camera for years and got used to that ratio. I now shoot with the Hasselblad X1D ll and absolutely love it. I'm back to my beloved 4:3.

    You should rent the GFX100 II… so fast, I’m loving mine. It’s honestly a highly flexible camera. Also the build quality is premium. It feels like the flagship it’s meant to be.

    Hello, very good video and linked blog post. Thanks for your efforts! I love the Southern Utah landscape, as well. I recently bought a used 100s. I also have a 50s II that I bought some time back, but for some reason never tried the DR, or D-Priority camera settings with. I’m experimenting with the DR settings on the 100s now. I’m wondering if you’ve tried either the DR or D-Priority settings, and what your opinion of them is? Thanks again.

    Todd, just about to finish 1 month in Iceland with the GFX100S. Def endorse your use of custom settings. One thing you missed I thing was shutter type. My choice for Landscape is EFCS. Also agree, This thing weighs a ton and my knee is killing me from lugging the 23mm and the 32-64. Haven't used the 100-200 all that much.

    Thank you for your review of the GFX 100S. I was thinking of buying this camera and your honest review was very helpful. Have you had an opportunity to compare this to the new GFX 100 II. In particular have they fixed the sloppy buttons etc?

    It’s weird that the 100S feels less refined than some full frame systems. I’ve felt that in hand with the 100, and I preferred the latter. I can attest, as a GFX 100 user, than there’s fewer fitment and build issues in the flagship (“non-S”) lineup; the new GFX 100 II is expensive but would be my next pickup once I sell all 3 kidneys.

    Hello, that is a very interesting video for me since I have a Canon R5 and I was wondering to buy the GFX 100S (or the new GFX 100 mk2). About that, I have few questions for you, if you don't mind... 1) Did you notice much difference in pic quality/color between the 2 cameras? 2) Why did you chose the GFX 100S and not the new GFX 100 mk2? 3) would you advice someone to change system (from R5 to GFX 100S or mk2) or wait for few months for the new R5 mk2 ? thank you

    Hey Todd, I LOVE this camera. It’s definitely clunky but the incredible results are worth it. I thought I’d share that the GF 32-64 was one of the least sharp lenses that I tried on GFX (handy range though). So it’s worth checking out their sharper ones. The 45mm is great, even the 63mm and 50mm are sharper. But they’re never overly sharp, they just render *noticeably* more detail. Which makes one realise that this camera’s even more amazing✨Enjoy!

    • @bobby350z
      @bobby350z 22 дня назад

      Had almost all GF lenses. Only 100-200mm wasn't up there, rest everything else is super sharp including the 32-64mm. Fell bad for letting it go as 35-70mm for < $500 replaced it.

    Thank for sharing your experience. And what about the depth of field of this sensor compared to a full-frame camera, especially for landscape? Easy to have a large depth of field with f11/f16 even in the corners? I am a Canon shooter and this is the point that makes me hesitate to switch to Fuji.

    • @Fujik1966
      @Fujik1966 3 месяца назад

      There is enough depth of field. I shoot from f2 to f8. Additionally, the GFX100s has focus stacking. You can also use a tilt shift lens. If you photograph landscapes and architecture, then you should have one. (Google Transletter)

    Glad to see that you’re covering the GFX system after mentioning it in a previous video. I’m considering my first major camera purchase in years and I’ve been looking at the GFX 50S II. The 100S is a stretch for me, budget-wise, and the major appeal for me is PDAF, rather than 2x resolution. Thanks for the great content you produce!

      I bought a 100s, I had the 50s II. The 50s II is very awesome, but it's useless to get the 100s. Dont mind the pixel race because they are not very different. The only thing you have to think is the lens prices, the GF series are very expensive

    • @tcnoble
      @tcnoble 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@chriscard6544 I definitely understand about the lenses. I was planning on going for the 30mm and 50mm primes to start, mostly because I want to take landscape shots and environmental portraits while traveling. I’ll fill out my kit with a 45-100 and maybe an 80 or 110 prime in the next year, for more versatility.
      I wouldn’t really want a normal or telephoto zoom for traveling simply because they make the camera itself too bulky and inconvenient for carrying all day IMO.

    I have the 50S II and I rather regret getting it. The menu system is by far the hardest and least intuitive menu I've ever used. My Canon's are much easier to use but then I've be a Canon user for years. When I have a grab shot I use my Canon 9 times out of 10. If I have the time to set up and fuss around I will use the Fuji. That being said The images from the Fuji are very very nice. I do agree that buttons on this camera do not have that top quality feel. I was able to use a friend's Hasselblad XD2 100C and now that was a joy to use and much more user friendly but I also don't have that kind of money either.

    I had the 50s II and now the 100s with the 23mm and the 80mm. 80mm is very good, very sharp. 23mm is also very good but a bit less sharp. Im not very good at editing but in color the both cameras rock but in B&W, Im not yet satisfied with the shadows, it's freaking good for the highlights.

    I have a GFX50sii and really like it. But it is big and clunky and the way the menu system works is not all intuitive. I have switched to the X2D. the whole system is lighter and more nimble. The lenses are outstanding and the menu system is a dream. The LCD id fantastic due to its sheer size. It is almost like photographing with a large format camera. The Hasselblad X system has had its problems viz the XD1 and XDII. But with the latest firmware most of the issues with the X2D have disappeared. The only drawback is the lens line up is rather limited. Many thanks

      @@garrettmain3712agreed, the SL2 provides nothing more over what Todd already has (the R5).
