Monaghan reminds me of Cirencester by the way: a town in the Cotswolds not far from me.Thankfully there's a bus route out if you make the serious mistake of going there for a day. There's a Roman Wall if you like that sort of thing but not much else!!!!!
honestly would love to see it like stuff has changed there's less pubs the hole in the ground was filled The Garage Theater moved to a new building that's a Palace compared to the dump it used to be The Diamond Cinema closed down and was 3 years later replaced by a new cinema in the Retail park where Argos is well until that Argos is closing down in June The Magic Roundabout was leveled and changed looks ugly gonna cause a fatal accident some day A greenway walking trail was created along the Ulster Canal and with recent improvements to it's surface it's actually pretty cool a real tour de Monaghan Town The Old Railway station was converted into a Community space for like studying and doing office projects The Bus Station got a renovation still pretty shit now there's far less buses in the actual station we had a Kfc Which opened for a bit but closed in 2018 a got a Subway again which is still in the shopping center Mcnallys carpark has been closed down while Aldi still fight the county council over getting an Aldi built there in it's place is a fence surrounding it since September 2019 hmm that's really it but it's def worth doing a 13th year Anniversary review i doubt it will happen but it would be cool to see
It was that semi-robotic digitized dude that used to present some obscure late nite ch4 music show many years ago....... Where's me bleedin' bouns points then, ehh ??? Lol
haha. man they've got a bunch of pub's there hmm interesting.. it like maybe my ancestors were drunks lmfao ... maybe. i love the scarcasim. even though you were prob being pretty serious haha. @ Polybiused cheers dude
The surname monaghan and the town and county monaghan are not really related .They got anglicised from the gaelic the same way,but thats it.If that is what you thought.Monaghan is a small county about 60 000 it has not a whole lot going for it except for a big Gaelic football stadium in the town of clones which holds the Ulster football final and a handy gaelic football team which punches above its weight for a small county and one of the best players in the Country Conor McManus. Its also famous for the poet Patrick Kavanagh who wrote in one of his poems the stoney grey soil of monaghan and that sums it up.
So, curious about place because McMahon supposed to have history... But it's a bit confusing since the flight of Earls and Rebellion. Anything for me kids to see? They proud of Irish roots but currently don't drink the hard water. Nice to meet you all.
it wasn't til I had watched about 2 min of this that I finally realized it was a parody. I was like are they truly trying to get tourists here? they can't be serious.
There is nothing in monaghan for tourists except for its association with one of irelands greatest writers patrick kavanagh and the ulster gaelic football final which attracts 33 000 every year
I could think of a suitable candidate for the psychiatric hospital.Clue:it wouldn't be anybody who resides in Monaghan nor the person who made this video....
it is dirt Robie like of all 32 counties on this Island we might possibly have the worst Capital like imagine if all 32 counties were their own country we have probably the worst Capital
@eviltoaster3 Do I get a years supply of Guiness as a prize or a season ticket to the multiplex where there might be a film showing made after 1996?
I have a lot of family woth trees that go back to Monaghan. Lol. It looks like a chilly St. Louis.
Aw jaysus that's class😂
I live in Monaghan and this is so true
I'm going to temporarily 'favorite' this to show my love - but I frequently erase my favorited vids, so don't get offended if that is the case....
That roundabout is where my auntie and two cousins died
Sorry to hear that. Condolences to your family.
"Even this tree gets a slice of the action, it's getting renovated into a.. BIGGER TREE!"
PRICELESS ! :L
I'm from monaghan and I love ❤ the town like I love the city I'm in now Birmingham 🇬🇧 💷

I still want to visit the land of my ancestors though! Not deterred lol.
This is an old video and while I have left Monaghan myself, it has gotten a lot better than it was when this video was made.
You got to see the Big Hole in the ground, not many people get an opportunity to see that!
I am from monaghan
With reference to a previous comment:a visit to Waddinxveen IS very trying!!!
we lost the magic roundabout. it was replaced by a stone one that causes traffic jams
oh that ugly thing i tell you bro someone is gonna get fecking killed by that shit
Ah sweet progress lol.
You're views are now over 9000!!!!
You should try and visit waddinxveen in the Netherlands than id rather be in Monaghan

there's less pubs
the hole in the ground was filled
The Garage Theater moved to a new building that's a Palace compared to the dump it used to be
The Diamond Cinema closed down and was 3 years later replaced by a new cinema in the Retail park where Argos is well until that Argos is closing down in June
The Magic Roundabout was leveled and changed looks ugly gonna cause a fatal accident some day
A greenway walking trail was created along the Ulster Canal and with recent improvements to it's surface it's actually pretty cool a real tour de Monaghan Town
The Old Railway station was converted into a Community space for like studying and doing office projects
The Bus Station got a renovation still pretty shit now there's far less buses in the actual station
we had a Kfc Which opened for a bit but closed in 2018
a got a Subway again which is still in the shopping center
Mcnallys carpark has been closed down while Aldi still fight the county council over getting an Aldi built there in it's place is a fence surrounding it since September 2019
hmm that's really it but it's def worth doing a 13th year Anniversary review i doubt it will happen but it would be cool to see
