Welcome to the night shift, where the toughest and craziest cases always seem to come through the door. Every shift is a fight between the heroic efforts of saving lives and the hard truths of running an underfunded hospital.
At San Antonio Memorial, the men and women who work the night shift are an irreverent and special breed, particularly adrenaline junkie TC Callahan (Eoin Macken). After three grueling tours of duty in Afghanistan, TC is about to learn that his toughest battles will be fought right here at home.

to everyone saying "this show looks exactly like greys anatomy, or "this show has been done before" You all realize that there were medical dramas before greys anatomy right? greys isn't the only medical show in the world...and the night shift is actually quite different from greys! Greys anatomy is my favourite tv show ever but its annoying when people are comparing shows...its not illegal for there to be more than one medical drama on tv !!

yeah but Greys anatomy only focused on the military aspect for two seasons while this show is kind of about military doctors. You should give this show. Its honestly really good
the night shift also show's the doctors going to the scene of an accident and showing them work outside of the hospital, in almost every episode... grey's hardly ever does that

they went to many places outside the hospital..... they went to prisons, car accidents, ferryboat crashes, and this looks like a great show but greys is always a classic

I use to work the night shift at Kings Cross railway station when British Rail ran it,and i tell you ,i witnessed a lot of crazy crazy stuff,i look back with fond memories amongst the madness

I wanted to watch the show because I saw a fanvid of Drew and Rick but this makes it better. I'm still hoping they decide to someday do a spinoff of Merlin; I miss that show all the time!

This is such an underrated doctors show. I usually hate doctor shows other than House m, but this show was great. Love the focus of patients and everybody’s story arcs are cool
Unpopular Opinion: I've seen Grey's Anatomy and never was a big fan. I've never really been a big fan of hospital dramas, but I came across this on Netflix and gave it a shot.
I actually found myself really enjoying it and I prefer it over Grey's.

I’m glad that they let TC be an actual Irish character who moved to the US instead of just having Irish heritage because Eoin Macken is Irish.
I've worked nearly 20 years as a paramedic in both urban and rural areas...Not once did I EVER--or ever hear of anyone--calling a ED physician to the scene because they could not handle it. What was that?

Yeah. I don't see you to say anything,but a crap. There are no other cases and amazing stories like grey's. I've watched couple episodes of ER from the verry begining and it bored the hell out of me. So... no. ER it nothing with the BOMB,Mer's drowning,Gunman in the hospital or the perfect storm. Even after 10 years,grey's the best drama on thursday night. Please,don't make me continiue...just shut up.

Ok, for starters, it is so annoying that people keep on comparing TV shows. I mean seriously, I am 100% sure the producers intention is not to compete with other shows, but to create good shows. Yes of course, some shows are better, others are not as good, but this also depends on people's opinions.
Now moving to a clear point, it is annoying that this show, or any other medical drama that started after GA, is compared to it. Don't get me wrong, I love GA and it is probably one of my favorites, but no need for comparison. First of all, The Night Shift show is completely different, except the fact that is medical. This is an ER focused show, but with an even deeper focus on the life of an ex-army soldier. I mean this show has military people all over it: three main characters have been to the war, one of them being the partner of an military person. Secondly, this show doesn't focus on the cases nearly as much as Grey does. Yes, they have had their share of cases, but it is mostly army related and personal drama.
So please, let's stop being mean and comparing things around, things/shows that shouldn't be compared. It is not like all the police shows are compared to CSI or SVU or whatever. Why don't we compare How To Get Away With Murder with The Good Wife? After all, they are both based on lawyers, right? .. :|
And before judging, give them a chance, pay attention to what is actually there and don't try to look for similarities, because those always exist.

Also, I don't see any Filipino nurses. This is unrealistic. We all know there is ALWAYS a Filipino nurse in every hospital. And sometimes an Indian doctor too. Just saying.

Grey'a Anatomy is the best medical drama. i cannot imagine seeing an end to it. the heavy moments of izzie leaving omaley dying derek dying and so on... those cases with a gunman in the hospital, merdieth drowning, with a gsw in th chest. just love the drama. and the bacckground narrative voice and those thoughts are just perfect.

i would say its closer to chicago fire. I mean, it has the medical stuff like Greys, but it can get a little darker and i honestly prefer it over GA but oh well, we all have different opinions. You should really try the show out though!

I've seen a few minutes of other medical shows like "House M.D" and "Scrubs" but, NONE! has ever compared to GA
Grey's anatomy sucks, so why would I want there to be another show like it. The same thing happens over and over again it gets too repetitive. It was great for a couple of seasons but then went down hill. This show sounds better than Grey's ever was.

San Antonio is one of the largest metros in the U.S. and has the largest military medical center in the world plus it has several level one trauma centers while most major cities do not.

I have really enjoyed "The Night Shift", but after being a nurse for 38 years, there are just so many things wrong and unrealistic about the show. Also, living in Texas has added to this. Two things stand out. There are no casinos in Texas. Just to let everyone know who wants to come to Texas to gamble, and even more important, nurses in Texas are not Union. We have never been on strike, and hopefully never will.
Not to be snarky, but that would be why this is marketed as a TV show and not a documentary. Just saying.

0:36 that was the worst fake tv series punch I've ever seen. That dr choked that man out cuz he was clearly tryna punch the "west nile mosquitoe" before it bit someone.. damn they choked homie out just for tryna help. Like think about it. That mosquito could've bit a kid that's already sick and can NOT fight off the West Nile disease.. the way he swung over the Dr's killing the mosquito everyone that would've bit everyone in the whole hospital.. man is a Goddamn hero🦸 🥇🏆

Greys Anatomy was actually good (for a few seasons) and didn't cater to the lowest common denominator unlike this show.
Well, the lowest common denominator certainly isn't me. This actually happens in some hospitals in "real life" in a less dramatic fashion and display. Another show like Grey's Anatomy is just too much.
