The person who tried to kill him is the perfect embodiment of people who think they're so smart and acts like a hero but only causes trouble.
So the majority of Reddit?
I mean he did come in clutch at the end of the movie
everybody gangster till the sun sets, only an immortal can bask in the radiance of the sun wich neither rises nor sets, the kingdom of nod
He has good intentions though. If he killed him his soul would’ve been saved but now he’s damned
Ah yes, the average redditor
I’ll never understand in a million years why they didn’t make a part 2. A great movie
They are working on it 2024 maybe
Pure financial reasons. It only grossed $217m against a $70m budget, which means it barely made a profit (the break-even point was around $175m).
Plus, Universal wanted to start the Dark Universe with an ensemble of individuals similar to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but The Mummy movie (which introduces Dr.Jekyll/Hyde and the titular character, The Mummy) flopped hard, so they scrapped the whole thing.
Yeah I figured they did make a part 2 in real life
Same goes for constantine 2 too but all we got is john wick in matrix , damn shame (should have let it ended in revolution )
It is not enough for a movie to meet gross line profit. It must exceed the mark by at least twice the money the studio invested in the production and release of the film. Then, there are the marketing and pre- advertising dollars that were also invested. This puts a lot of pressure on the main actor and director, which carried the film into production. To put out a finished product that will convince the studio executives to make a part two. The only way to convince them of that is to EXCEED gross line profit margins, over the films cost production. So....the movie did not exceed that number, and therefore, there will be NO part two. Moreover, there was zero demand from the public for a part two, which is icing on the chopping block cake. 😔
This is a fantastic example of how people will turn on you in an instant. Even if you've just saved their lives. People aren't worth saving.
100% agree
love this comment! u can apply it to almost any thing
When the zombie apocalypse goes down, its me and my wife and no one else in our little group.
Sad true of human nature.
I think the people are warranted their fear. If one of your family turned out to be a murdering rapist or something like that, would you stick up for them purely because they were family? Or would you have the conviction to stand up for what is right? If your leader sold his soul to the devil to save your lives, is that a price you are willing to pay? Eternal damnation for a few more measly days on earth? Suffice to say, noone, including Dracula himself, really has the first clue what they're really dealing with here...

My favorite scene , this was a very touching moment, knowing that a righteous king must do anything to save his people even if it means sacrificing his own well being. That's a worthy King .
Only for the people to treat him as a monster and attempt to kill him lol
@@acxpert1448for real, they wasted NO time tryna burn him to a crisp

Nah the funniest part what when he picked up that piece of wood. Foo was about to impale someone

I'm Romanian, and lord Vlad Țepeș is our pride and glory, but I can't help but shed tears when the words "this is your loyalty, your gratitude, you think you're alive because you can fight? You're alive because of me, because of what I did to save you!" sound so loud because it's the pain of a man who sacrificed so much to keep his people safe yet they turned against him in reality as well
Vlad Tepes' descendants had something to say about this movie -- I believe they gave it a thumbs up
So true
Pride and glory? wasn't Vlad the chap who impaled their enemies like a sheesh kebab?
Vlad Țepeș is our pride and glory - speak for yourself man. Vlad Țepeș was a demented psyhopath. If you pick up something other than a comunist school textbook or a nationalist blog you'll see what an ungodly amount of civilians, women and children murdered.
Isnt the tepes from castlevania? He was just "Vlad Dracula"
This priest was always a good character. Never wished Vlad any true harm. A lot of people say he was stupid and annoying but he had a really good grasp on the larger picture and just wanted to do his part.
I mean, what he did was stupid...but yeah, it was for the right reason. Though, I would've tried talking it out first like "I know why you did it, my king. So, when this is all over, so you don't go fully over to the dark side, allow me to end your life while you still have your humanity" or something like that.
@@acxpert1448 I don't think he wanted to risk being killed like that. Having someone walk up to the monster alone and in private and says I know your secrets, they usually die.
Intention was good. Delivery of intention, very dumb.
Like it's the same art of saying you like a girl, when you really like the girl. It's up to your delivery or technique, place & time matters too, you'll either succeed and be passed as brave charming man or be passed as a creepy predator, there's nothing in between.
@@ZackaryBiagi That's missing the whole point in this case, though. Vlad was _not_ a monster yet, he hadn't killed a human to satisfy the bloodlust, the priest knew this the moment he saw the sight of the cross had no effect. He rushed to judgement, despite knowing the prince to be a man of strong character, a devoted husband, father and protector of his people.

I love that he just grabs the wooden beam like "Do I have to *impale* a bitch?!"
The audacity for the woman to walk up and go “this is not who you are” as if he wasn’t the only person making any sense the whole time.
No, dipshit, he pulled off the wooden log to *impale* the fuckers who betrayed him. (Vlad _The Impaler_ ) She was telling him he is no longer Vlad The Impaler. He is the Prince.
retaliating against a hostile mob of people who intend to kill you, like a cornered dog does make sense. She just could easily stand in the way in reference the good he has done and direct responsibility at his assailants. Either way he is burdened with the great power comes great responsibility trope and thus is opposition to the humanity whether in be in righteous brutality or heroic restraint. There are two things I require from people, Loyalty and Respect. If I can't get either of those things then you are not worth saving. Dracula has every reason to be angry.
Pretty much, yeah. The dude turned into a powerful monster to save his kingdom, and what did his people do as a result? Attempted murder. I would've just said "screw you" and taken my family to safety while they got killed off.

In This very scene one would be surprised how Vlad didn't just say ''F''@~K IT! and just killed them all, those people were lucky that he had a wife and a Son that for a Moment they made him Sane again.
Luke Evans made this movie for me. His performance is so tragic and epic. I wish the rest of the movie were closer to his level of quality. The production design was pretty cool, but the story, supporting cast, and some of the effects were ok to pretty bad in my opinion.
3:16 - 3:42 He almost went full-on Impaler, threatening them with a stake. As if to say, "Have you forgotten what I could do to all of you with this? What I *can* do now?!" It's only because of his wife and son that he hasn't gone Christopher Lee on their asses.

Definitely one of the best Dracula movies ever made, would love to c a second part!
Why do they even know what vampires are, if he was supposedly the first.
that and all the weaknesses silver, sunlight, crosses
Because some warriors or villagers in the past happen to encounter that old vamp in the cave.
BatmanVsSombies that still doesn't explain how they knew all his weaknesses anyone whoever saw him never lived long enough to find them out or pass on the information
Light Shade for the record, Dracula managed to escape, which means there were also survivors in past. They either escaped or were spared by the old vamp. Just like technological advancements, we somehow discovered how to make fire and forge metal weapons.
Light Shade also writing was long invented, so the witness could have wrote it in his book and pass the information to others.
He is an national hero for Romanians ,,even up to nowadays Romanians do not even know how did he get power to kill the whole Turkish army all by himself ,alone and when the Romanian army has arrived to the scene they found him Gul of blood but alive and thousands of Turkish soldiers dead ...it is a misteery how he did it ,,but for sure it is a real story

One of the best screams of pain I’ve heard yet
I find the crowds acting realistic, due to them being religious.
I like the fact that he had the discipline to not be Vlad the Impaler in the heat of the moment and how quickly he took dominance over the crowd.
I like how his wife knew him well enough to know what he was about to do with that piece of wood.
What I don't like is the crowds behavior at the end of the movie. It's inconsistent with what they're doing here.
1:32 when you just wake up and open your blinds
Absolutely loved this movie. Sooo underrated.
Always wondered what'd happen if Vlad explained what happened to Lucian, instead of threatening him. Perhaps the clergy would've understood his sacrifice and maybe even kept his secret
It wouldn't of mattered to the priest even if he had explained things to him. For priests and clergymen, to even associate with things God deemed as evil is enough to warrant the church to condemn you to death. It wasn't until near the end of the movie did Lucian understand Vlad's choice even if he didn't agree with it.
Everyone knows Vlad the impaler was known for being a very generous and nice man...
Never help anybody they take it as weakness and will try to either destroy you or even kill you, especially today.
Roger that. Being kind and helpful is a weakness. I have felt like him many times . I never thought they would turn their back when I need them . Anyways I m way ahead of them all.

This was a brilliant movie. Loved it
This is was a good movie. Usually movies like this turn out to be cheesy, but this one was actually pretty notable.
The big part of the film revolves around this plot finally !! This King is sacrificing his mortal life for a superhuman monster life!! But contrary to what one might think, he does not only do it for his people!! He does this because he wants to preserve what his kingdom is in essence, his culture, the functioning of his society. It goes much further than the love of its people!! He's a patriot!! The patriot never blames others for being on his side or not, he knows that he remains true to himself in the end and that's enough for him!! This is where all the greatness and power of the character ultimately comes from!! His eternal compassion for his people and his environment!! Eternal loyalty!!

Wife: Do not allow him look outside
Maid: Allows him sit down outside at the first available opportunity.
