Thank you! I’m 78 yrs retired from Nuke plant retirement by engineering. Now as a child leav my bedroom window open.I was 7 miles from Pullman and Grand Junction. Big ass steam engines hauling ass after midnight. My dad was conductor. 1930’s/40’s . He would have engineer pull whistle if hitting 110/125mphwith 300-400cars😀. Heated caboose with coal or wood. My dad said h knew every Hoo-Boo. By name and protected them sometimes buying food. I’m dying but still miss hose fearless train engineer who rode those bad ass machine over 120 mph!😊
Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent photography job/detailed train route maps. Enabling viewers to better understand what the orator is describing. I noticed graffiti art work on box & tanker cars. Wonder if the artists are seeing 👀their creations on this presentation???😲. Had the good fortune to spend quality time in that beautiful region. This presentation brings back pleasantly relaxing memories -!!!😉. Viewing this presentation from the comfort zone of my computer room. Along the " Space Coast "🚀 of Florida 🐊🐊. Wishing viewers& R.R. Employees a safe/healthy/prosperous ( 2024 )🌈🎉😉.
I'm planning a 2 week photo/railfan trip out west this summer based a lot on your videos. On my list is Portland, Crater Lake, Oregon Cascades, Columbia River Gorge up to Kamloops and back to Portland. You have inspired me so. Your videography is top notch Aaron and the shot of the unit train at 2:08:14, dare I say it, took my breath away.
Thank you for making these available and seeing your great videos. I'm surprised at how much power some of these trains had. Eight engines for a 100 car oil train seems like overkill.
As far as geography goes there isn't much the state of Oregon doesn't have, which is why I love it here so much. Thank you for this excellent video and showcasing the beauty of the state through the southern part of the state
Beautiful camera work. This channel is excellent. Thank you. It's perfect. Love the length, the stats, and the details. Love the narration. Bravo guys, bravo. I'm hooked.
So the crew of the snow spreader will billet in the sleeper overnight? Hope they have a 3 star chef though please don't get me wrong, a 4 to 5 star cook they would deserve. Your work documenting America's railroads is stunning and so important to American culture or work history. The railroads touch so many as it exemplifies Americana . Thank you, thank you !!!
I can't vouch for the chef but railroaders usually eat pretty well. The car is used as a galley and probably carries extra shovels for switches. Crews are shuttled to and from the train by van.
Ein wunderschönes Video ❤ u winter Impressionen fantastisch..Greetings from Germany Cologne. ❤... Sie haben eine klare Stimme ihr englisch ist fantastisch.
I really hope y'all cover the Oregon Trunk. The Siskiyou Pass line would be a good one too but I don't know how much traffic it sees. Maybe the Seattle Sub?
The wonderfulness of these productions is as follows -!!! Viewers whom not been afforded the opportunity to visit these beautiful regions. Can now have the opportunity of almost being there -!!!😉.
I pull doubles from Reno, NV to Bend, OR. Usually, my freight comes from LA with Portland as the destination. It all seems so inefficient compared to these magnificent beasts!
Thank you for another top shelf video. As a life long resident of British Columbia(whose railfan exposure is limited to CPKC nee CP, CN and good ol' BC Rail) your videos expose me to the workings of UP and BNSF in the western United States. Do you have any videos of UP from Hinkle OR to Nampa ID and beyond? Also video from the Oregon Trunk Line. Looking forward to your next video.
Wow, very nice video about where I grew up in Klamath County. Dad retired from SP/UP back in 2009 and we lived from Dunsmuir to Chiloquin before he bought the house in K-Falls. It’s a beautiful place to live but it’s at an altitude of 4,300 feet and almost no humidity so bring some lotion if you’re from a more humid climate. The winters are a bit rough but you get used to them, seems most liberals don’t last through one winter before they move back to where they came from. Lots of great places to live in Klamath or Deschutes Counties but I’d avoid living near Klamath Lake unless you like bugs. I’d buy a piece of land in Bonanza which is 20 miles from K-Falls and the highway is kept open year round. We use crushed red cinder for dealing with road ice and make sure you have a true 4 wheel drive vehicle and not some all wheel mini SUV you think can tackle anything. We have snow year round at higher elevations so pack accordingly for any day or weekend trips and always bring a firearm with some power, no .22’s unless you’re squirrel hunting or teaching younguns how to shoot.
@@aquaspire7671 I'm talking about the original Union Pacific's Cascade Sub parts 1 and 2. the first 7idea Productions two part DVD's from 2006 or 2007.
This has become a Friday night ritual for me now. A frosty beverage and trains for 2+ hours.

Woah this is all the way back in 2016? This just transported me back in time. Beautiful production!
😊
Wish you'd show the whole trains. I enjoy seeing the different railroad cars.

Another great coverage with a lot of Coast Starlights, Jordan Spreaders doing snow removal, tons of freights and excellent cometary.🤠💯👍👆🐧🏴☠
Let's all book an Amtrak for next winter Oregon to CA.

Oh god I love the snowstorm railroading! This is some of the best railroading videos ever my friends. Thank you 7idea!
It's so dangerous but I love watching lol.
Thanks for braving harsh cold and blistering heat to bring us these videos
Never seen a bad production. Keep ‘em coming. 🙂🙃🙂
I have to take off my hat to 7 Idea production 😉.

How come you only do west coast trains?
Nice video! Say, when are you going to upload the original "Union Pacific's Cascade Sub Part 1" on RUclips first then the part 2?
That video was posted 5 months ago as "The long grade", this is just part 2 in the thru the cascades
