Since there is a lot of misunderstanding related to what Fugue provides for Firefly, here are some of my calcs from my spreadsheet and testing. FWIW, when I input my team into my spreadsheet, the in-game numbers roughly match up with my calculations, so my formulas appear correct.
Assumptions:
HMC Team - FF at 504% Break Effect (number taken directly from my in game FF with all buffs active), Ruan Mei at 369% Break Effect (needed for Ruan Mei Talent DMG calc), 1 Enemy = +60% Super Break DMG multiplier, Boss = Svarog with 140 Toughness (2.7 MoC Side 1), 4 Super Break Attacks per Boss Break at E2 FF or 3 Super Break Attacks per Boss Break at E0 FF (my testing indicated that this was consistently the number of attacks that could be fit before Svarog recovered), E0S1 FF + E0S1 Ruan Mei + E0S0 Lingsha + E6[S5 Memories] HMC. Yes, I am aware that DDD may be slightly better, but it introduces a lot of complications to the calc that are difficult to address in a spreadsheet.
Fugue Team - FF at 456% Break Effect (again, taken directly from my in-game FF with all buffs active), Ruan Mei at 292% Break Effect, Boss = Svarog with 140 Toughness (2.7 MoC Side 1), 4 Super Break Attacks per Boss Break at E2 FF or 3 Super Break Attacks per Boss Break at E0 FF, E0S1 FF + E0S1 Ruan Mei + E0S0 Lingsha + E0[S5 Resolution] Fugue
HMC Super Break DMG = 219,543 DMG
Fugue Super Break DMG = 159,082 DMG
FF A4 Super Break (HMC Team) DMG = 68,607 DMG
FF A4 Super Break (Fugue Team) DMG = 79,541 DMG
FF (HMC Team) Weakness Break DMG = 167,444 DMG
FF (Fugue Team) Weakness Break DMG = 189,854 DMG (x2)
Ruan Mei Talent (HMC Team) DMG = 61,639 DMG
Ruan Mei Talent (Fugue Team) DMG = 62,971 DMG (x2)
Total DMG HMC-FF at E0S1 FF = (219,543 * 3) + (68,607 * 3) + (167,444) + (61,639) = 1,093,533 DMG
Total DMG Fugue-FF at E0S1 FF = (159,082 * 3) + (79,541*3) + (189,854 * 2) + (62,971 * 2) = 1,221,519 DMG
Total DMG HMC-FF at E2S1 FF = (241,952 * 4) + (75,610 * 4) + (182,952) + (61,639) = 1,514,839 DMG
Total DMG Fugue-FF at E2S1 FF = (180,207 * 4) + (90,104 * 4) + (212,110 * 2) + (62,971* 2) = 1,631,406 DMG
With E0S1 Firefly, Fugue is still a DMG upgrade in these calcs by around 127,986 DMG, which is a roughly 11.7% DMG upgrade. It is technically slightly less of an upgrade for E2 FF in terms of pure damage, at 116,567 DMG (7.7% DMG upgrade), but Exo-Toughness is a massive QOL improvement for E2 FF as it makes it much, much easier to trigger the Extra Turn and will probably work out to be a much bigger upgrade in practice considering the extra turns that might have been missed without Exo-Toughness. Also, the above calculations assume the full +60% Super Break modifier for HMC, which means 1 enemy. If you are against more than 1 enemy for any of the attacks, then the numbers turn even more in favor of Fugue.
I did a quick simulation to try to account for S5 DDD on HMC, but it is difficult to consistently translate that into an additional FF attack during the Boss Break rotation. It depends too much on the starting Action Value, HMC energy rotation and other factors. In my practical test in-game, the rotation did not line up to allow the DDD trigger to actually push forward FF enough to get an extra turn out of it before Svarog recovered. IF you can manage to leverage DDD into an additional FF attack, then S5 DDD HMC has a 8.9% advantage over E0[S5 Resolution] Fugue. But in the cases where you cannot leverage DDD into an extra attack (which was the case in the Svarog test run I attempted), then S5 DDD HMC is 15.1% worse than Fugue. In a longer fight that is perhaps taking multiple cycles, DDD might start to show more value as you are able to activate it more.
That does not even account for other benefits to Fugue like the flexibility of Foxian Prayer to help other units contribute toughness damage off element. Now, is the above worth the pulls specifically for Firefly? Debatable. It's not a huge upgrade in raw DMG for Firefly. But, it is NOT a DMG loss like some people might try to convince you. I also did scale down the Break Effect numbers to simulate lower investment and the numbers still work out to be pretty similar. For example, a Firefly that is at 400% Break Effect in Battle with HMC vs 360% Break Effect in Battle with Fugue, with Ruan Mei down to 250% BE and 200% BE respectively, still works out to a roughly 12% DMG advantage for Fugue, so basically the same as my other calcs.
TLDR; Fugue is upgrade for Firefly, but not by a huge margin. Mostly a QoL improvement, especially for E2 FF.
So if I was to just ask if I should go for linghsa or fugue at E0 who would u recommend, (I have a e6 Gallagher) for my FF team (ff,rm,hmc,Gallagher)

@@HarisNasir575 For the Break Team specifically? I would probably say Fugue, simply due to the Sustainless option, which is pretty viable because of all the Action Delays.
Lingsha is perhaps more worthwhile as an overall account pickup, as she is an incredibly good Sustain and will get plenty of use even outside of your Break Team. But that also somewhat depends on what other Sustains and units you have.

I love how they actually made the most fun combo OP AF with Fugue's inclusion (Himeko + Herta)
A lot of people thought why doesn't she activate the infinite FuA, it is because of herta,
Himeko gets full priority before herta, and when himeko gots full stacks, she wont immediately attacks, but instead wait for more mobs to spawn, however she keeps the stacks if there are other characters yet to take turn after the FuA, because it only activates when someone attacks (full stack reserved),
With that in mind, herta has the second mist prio in this FuA, this is why when herta attacks, it immediately activates thw reserved stacks from himeko, causing to not let more mobs to spawn and create a chain attack,
Or hotoverse just decided to nerf her immediately

@Kaachi_op she actually plays a huge role in there too, that weakness buff makes it so that when she FuA, she can guarantee to break enemies faster.
Can anyone really activate the infinite fua? I've never had it happen. I mostly play with herta though
@@JaxDax the thing is to make infinite FuA attacks, it has a place heirchy on which FuA comes first, if you use herta, she'll always come last,
For an endless pure fiction, you need to have ruan mei skill for extra break efficiency and fugue's e1 for a guarantee breaks,
However you can actually do it with just fugue if you make it so that the mobs will have a 10 more toughness reduction before you FuA, it will break and count more stacks, and since fugue's exo bar has 40% toughness only, it automatically breaks even if the enemy is still not dead in the FuA

She's probably the most Polarizing Character in the Game. Even though she has a lot of fans especially from CN/JP communites and people who have the MC mentality (The same people with MC Mentality Hate Sunday), She also has a lot of people who despise her, Ie: They either think the time she Spent with MC/ HerxMC is forced or they are Husbando Mains, who were mad they shafted Boothill for her and they also tend to share the same sentiments as the people who think HerxMC is forced.
and now that 3.x Is coming and Mihoyo will probably aim to Counter Break more since it's not as Meta as the 3.x Architypes, the FF Hate has ramped up.
Well the truth is Firefly need atleast E1 to function. and she is stacked character, a real firefraud (cause even if her damage isn't the best, her utility outshines all others)
I wil get her to E2 cause I love her, Firefly is the character I love the most of HSR. firefly to a flame... life begets death. a 4700 old girly who's lifesystem is a mechasuit.

what "function" does she not have that makes her bad? where is this content she can't do? like max difficulty conundrum 12 gold and gears 5 and swarm disaster 5? sure she can't do those since there aren't any break paths in that older content, but eidolons don't help there, and all break dps struggle in that content, but other then that what content doesn't she function in... i actually don't understand...

@@Franceee___ I will tell you more, on Genshin I had lost the last 8 50/50 (so much so, that I even qualified for that new radiant mechanic or whatever they call it for losing too many times in a row. And a big chunk of my losses weren't even recorded for that mechanic, otherwise I would have gotten it way earlier), on Wuwa I haven't won a single 50/50 since the game came out, but at least there I am getting the 5 star early quite often, so it's not that bad. Also like 80% of those losses were at high pity on both Genshin and Star Rail. So, yeah I am about to quit each of them if I lose one time. I can't even believe that any of this can be possible.

Isn't Tutorial the BiS for her at E2? Her S1 is only good for E0-1, and Resolution is even better if you're trying to build DEF shred. The sole purpose of Tutorial is for her to have a 3 turn ult (that 130 energy ult is the most useless ult in the game btw), so that you can spam E2, just like how HMC abuses DDD.

Well, only if you want to invest in the archetype. I'd say that the mechanic has firm place in the game's meta, so investing won't be a waste.
If you have a good Himeko, she'll be a great pick, tho you'll need Ruan Mei down the line to truly capitalise on everything Break and Super Break can offer.
However, knowing Hoyo, I wouldn't recommend pulling for a character when reaching the end of the archetype cycle, and given 3.0 is right around the corner (literally), I'd recommend saving for those 3.X characters.
No need, Rappa benefits a lot from her, she's also a great support for Himeko.
Edit: another point since you have sunday, pull for the new path since he gives a lot of benefits for DPS with summon mechanics, but remember to pull for the characters you want to pull.
Just save for 3.x dps at this point
Only pull for Fugue if you are going to pull for Rappa, Firefly or Foothill and you really like the type of gameplay (break/superbreak, not everyone likes it) If not, just wait for the 3.X versions characters that are Remembrance or with summons so you can have another really OP team with Sunday. I would say Castorice, Mydei and Algae are good dps that will come and might fit in that team.

FF sig LC won’t suddenly make her better than Rappa tho. Fugue has a bigger impact on Rappa and Boothill than FF, so naturally they’ll perform better than her if she isn’t E2.
