I don't have a lot to sooth the pain of funnel spam players, but the new way we use funnels is satisfying to me as a big fan of the anime. It's very bittersweet. I like that we use them for utility now because that's kinda what all the best funnels are doing in Gundam anyways. Their control systems almost always have some caveat like sticking a big psychic amplier on a pilot causing a bunch of trauma when they kill, and often they'll also be expensive to build and maintain and only work for a handful of pilots. Gundam Throne Zwei (and therefore the Arche) is a great example because its a melee focused suit. That stagger really is the ideal use case for the funnels in the fiction against its equals though obviously with the Gundams being so much more advanced than other suits in 00 it does ultimately get more out of them. Legend Gundam is another example. It does that beam thing on hold because its a development of the Providence and one of the problems with the Providence is under gravity the entire dragoon system becomes dead weight. They gave the Legend's dragoons articulation to fire while mounted exactly to give them something to do in that situation.
I always tell people, if you run a funnel build, just put on a few mag lev shotguns to supplement the damage and for EX gain. I hate people who use them for double Sword spam but for funnels, I think they're awesome.
I didn't know about the Mastered Arche legs or the Rose bits, so thank yiu foe the info. I've already been using the Legend backpack, C-Funnels, and GN Fans, so nice to know I can improve the buukd.
The Arche GN fangs are utterly fucking stupid and I love them. if you keep up good combat and use some EX gain abilities they have nigh-100% uptime and I'm 90% certain that their stun is unblockable. It's one bar and it's utterly broken.
My best success with Funnels has been a full set of 8 builders parts GN Holster Bits; using machine guns stat’d for attack power and appropriate Ex attack power but also part breaking. Melee weapons are purely stat’d all the Ex gain abilities. Yes getting the 8 Ex charges is a little slow but the funnels alone generate 3-4 charges from kills and park breaks (owing to the much higher damage on Holster Bits). But I think the other reason Funnels feel weak is they won’t seek out other targets outside your lock on and the small numbers of fodder/mooks.

I picked up the Rozen Zulu backpack purely for aesthetic when I started playing this game, and ended up being really happy with how the Psycho Jammers just fully shut down enemies. So useful.
Honestly. Have a decent setup. 1 set of Kshatriya arms, 1 Qubeley backpack and 1 set of Zabaniya legs. 3 EX gauge for a lot of funnels. It isn't great but if you put enough out it helps a little i paired the additional Funnel racks for another 2 Ex gauge. It is costly but i love funnels enough yo try to make them as good as i can find. I came to a similar conclusion as you. More makes them better and if you balance how you play you can keep the upkeep under control. I usually use 3 1 cost because i can easily have constant uptime with 3.
I would ask "Why no GN Sword Bits?" from the Qan[T] backpack except for it disabling the other better EX attacks. You'd think they code it so would automatically cancel instead of having to manually cancel.
I was curious about this recently. Thank God you deliver. That said, 2 things: -I feel like GN Shield Bits are pretty notable, in a similar sense to Nu's Fin Funnels and the Shiranui Mobile Turrets. The GN Shield Bits start off rotating around you, but you can toggle them into attack mode. In a way, you can control how the Shield bits fire by swapping them in-between defense mode and attack mode. -Are funnels affected by reaction speed and trances? I got curious because maybe you could stack reaction speed to increase their firing frequency? At the same time, wouldn't it be bad to have too high reaction speed with Providence and Legend DRAGOONs because they fire beam blasts, thereby having less hit count per beam?
I did about four or five rounds of testing maybe a week or so before this came out and found the Providence backpack to consistently outperform the Legends backpack in Test mode by about 10k-30k (depending on how many hits they can rack up early) when the parts are maxed out. YMMV, but I thought it was very weird. Don't be tempted to toss on the legs for more funnels, it cuts the damage for whatever reason.
its because providence gets 3 big split funnels vs 2 on legend also when both have matching legs it goes from providence doing 5 funnels to 11 legend just does 10 providence full set does work

On the first funnel blades does having more blades increase physical beam defense of is it the same value using one. Cause I agree I shouldn't add more cause the 3 bar cost is to high

Nah, the EX gauge is the issue, that shit need to be remove and go back been cool down based like previous Breaker game or revamp to make it easier to access EX skills without grind for 30sec for 1 EX gauge...
@@alternative915 Agreed. There's unfortunately a lot of that in GB4; them trying to reinvent the wheel and fix what wasn't broken. Its so much better than NGB, so I'm glad they listened, but they really didn't need to change around how optional parts and EX actions worked. We even lost out on 4 EX actions per weapon type since we don't have the basic 2 per weapon and their upgraded forms anymore.
There's currently a glitch where Liu bei's Unicorn left arm would not appear at all, i had one on my build n it was gone, remade the arm twice and it didn't appear on the list, On the Switch version btw

Super DRAGOON and Rose Bits user here, i jumped into newtype immediately after unlocking it, and it is a walk in the park with these two rolling.

They shouldn't have put funnels/fangs on EX move, it should have been an OP same as before. The use for them in Gb4 is not as satisfying as Gb3.
