Their vision and mission is to bring "professionalism" to their country instead of sending their people to the big leagues in Europe. I really like this idea where they invest in thier nation. Why put this negative image in our mind when we re talking about football and peace and trying to connect. Saudi arabia is trying to invest its money and develop their country and they re finding themselves in a catch 22, damn if you do damn if you dont situation, same way it was for Qatar. You really have to travel and meet these people because the first thing it comes to mind when you think of these countries are issues which sadly exist but there is much more than that, when you say america i dont imagine a bunch of homless poeple shitting on sidewalks in san francisco but thats just me my mind doesnt go directly to negativity.

How come on the world football website it shows that Al-hilal average attendance was 8,984 last season and the average gate in the Saudi top flight rarely breaks 10K, that's worse than the English 3rd tier of football. Why aren't many Arabs watching the football in the stadiums in SA?

England allows any owner of any nationality to invest in English clubs to make profit for that owner. However there is a limit to what can be invested, it's based on income/tunover, otherwise it's basically cheating. Football in England is incredibly expensive for a ticket but every club still fills their stadium. Spending money on transfers and player salaries that a club can't afford building up massive debt is bad for the game and can destroy a club.

Can understand some of the anti Premier League comments. As in general I'd rather support the underdog, the smaller leagues but surely people can appreciate the normal rules are natural organic growth otherwise you risk boom and bust. The attendances in Saudi Arabia don't even average 10K, so the top flight is a small league, some big clubs but most are tiny clubs. Put it this way, if an extremely wealthy Christian country was offering any Muslim $1 million to attend church and be a Christian I'd say that was wrong. I wouldn't say if Muslims are happy to collect their $1 million dollars then other Muslims have no right to complain. Altho I suppose if you live by the sword of capitalism then you can't complain if a bigger sword comes along. Will be interesting to see how the Saudi league progresses, think a major factor in attracting the top players in their prime is entry to the European Champions league but the problem with entry, is Saudi clubs would need to abide by FFP rules, so can't see it happening. Also will be interesting to see if Saudi host the 2034 wold cup. Possible exciting time ahead.

I heard you at the beginning say that Saudi Arabia is trying to do sports washing, did I hear it? I did not hear you talk about England's participation in the killing of children in the Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya or Syria wars, or the theft of Africa's wealth. You did not talk about 200 years of occupation of India and the theft of its wealth. I think that ocean water will not be able to wash away the dirtiness of your country's actions.
Back to football, didn't the Premier League buy players in Europe and South America? Why Saudi not? I am telling you the truth because the football system in Europe is corrupt and the proof is 5 years Manchester City, the league champion
    You are hypocrites

Ok, most of the video is fine but why are u including Osama bin Laden who is one terrorist and how does it relate to football in anyway. Also in Islam and many other religions including christianity, teaches people not to support lgbtq and everyone must respect the rules of countries and religions. You can’t go saying that it’s wrong and that the religion/country is bad. This video is supposed to be about football not politics

I think its about greed in these days they go to another league or teams just for more money its absolutely disgusting how much these players wants im glad messi didnt go to saudi league dont think wanted any money he just wants tobe nearer to hes familiy

Do you not know how much money Messi is making in the MLS. It’s all about the money going to MLS is simply better for PR. If he didn’t want money he would go back to Barcelona and take a huge pay cut.

So what if it’s for money? Do you think they care about the media? Them going for the money is for their family, they are literally securing generational wealth

@@LUFC28 neither really make much of a difference distance wise. He is making 9 figures in the mls same as what players are making in Saudi. Money is motivation.

The renewable energy thing is the real issue here if Saudi Arabia doesn’t endorse renewable energy and they don’t and won’t then is this really about oil? And maintaining its hold over the world population

Girls are able to play football. There is a women's league. There is a women's national team. Seriously... all it took was a google search.
In Saudi 80% play and/or watch football. We play football in the neighborhood parks, we play football at school, we even play Fifa lol. Football is quintessential to the modern saudi identity, essentially when it comes to kids and teens. All it needs is a bit of investment in infrastructure (which is being made at the moment) and youll see a meteoric rise.
The win against Argentina? Believe it or not it was pure talent (part of the reason why they werent consistent too). Most of these guys have played football since childhood, excelled at school and made it to football through talent. Theres no strict training rules here, players eat quite unhealthy, etc etc. So theyre not the best "trained". Imagine that team had a bit more work ethic, and the heights they could reach then. So with a bit of investment and a more "for profit" approach to maximise efficiency and professionalism, these players will be dominating Asia and even making strong shows on the world stage both at the club level and internationally.
Will Saudi try to enter the Champions League? Unlikely. Saudi heavily backed the Club World Cup reform, so thats likely how they wish to compete internationally and with European teams. By dominating Asia, they consistently play in the Club World Cup (which will become much bigger by 2025).
